Got my card today! Not too bad. Sent it in Monday around 4 PM and got my 1080 Ti Thursday around 1 PM

Time to test this baby out.

I paid for 1 day air saver in case anyone is wondering. I live in Southern California, so it didn't take too long. Step-up cost me a total of $40 :D

3/27 sent
3/28 received
3/29 shipped out
3/30 received

Well, that's fantastic. Mine got in yesterday so if it ships today/tomorrow I'll be able to get it Monday/Tuesday, which is still going to be before my damn hybrid kit gets here.

My spring break is almost over, and I haven't had a GPU since Monday.

4 days?  Yeah, I feel ya.  I haven't had a GPU for 10 days.

I'm not even opening the Ti box till the hybrid kit shows up.

j/k LOL

I'll suffer with an air cooler until it's released.

I'm just saying, I know it sucks, but it is a suck you wholly chose for yourself.

Yep... 1080 SC for $559... $140 to step up to Ti FE.... so I sacrificed a week with integrated graphics.

What was the other option... sell the 1080 for... maybe $400 if I'm lucky and take a $150 loss on a card that was 3 weeks old?

No thanks.  :)

Could have, I don't know, returned it? lol

Hybrid kit price jumped up $60. It's now $180. EVGA went crazy. Ordered a 1080 kit to modify.

I bought the 1080 on 2/9 from B&H Photo... as good as they are with the no sales tax and free 3 day UPS shipping I don't believe an open computer component meets their return policy.

Nonreturnable items --- Opened computers and computer software — original packaging cannot be unsealed

It's cool.... My total cost for the 1080 Ti with shipping to and from EVGA was $746.88... and that included 40 days of use of a 1080.  I just had to deal with 10 days of integrated graphics while waiting.

As for the hybrid kit, EVGA is banking on people like me who would pay the $180 if it means not having to modify an older cooler.

Takes <5 minutes to modify the old cooler.

Side note: opened computers refers to pre-built machines, not components. Computer software is almost never returnable even if not opened.

With grinding off this and grinding off that and blah blah whatever else so it will fit right?  At least that's what others have said.

If it floats your boat go for it... I haven't really thought about it yet and what I want to do.  I did read one comment from a guy who said he wasn't looking forward to it... and if I feel the same way I'll probably pay the extra $60.

I knew that about the software... and as for the return, as said, purchased on 2/9.  Step up wasn't announced till 3/10... which is outside of 30 days... well, maybe not because of 28 days in Feb... but still, it would have been close.

I could have flipped a coin and banked on it being announced and returned the card (if it met return policy) but I'd still have had to pay return shipping... exactly what I had to do to step up with EVGA.

In the end, even if returning was an option... it wasn't worth the hassle to me.  I got the Ti and basically broke even... which is all I was out to do.  Returning it wouldn't have been any better on the wallet...

Good news, mine shipped out today. Was about a one day turn-around, which isn't bad at all considering I forgot to return their radiator fan like the idiot I am. Owe you one, EVGA. ;)

Now I get to stare at the box until EK and EVGA figure out this AIO business...

i will probably be watching the ek blocks. i think  the evga hybrid came down a little to 159.99. but the evga hybrid has never impressed me on looks .  and with this price raise it puts there aio hybrid close to what ek's will probably come in at. if i do end up going with an aio i will probably grab the ek one if it looks nice or performs better. I will be trying to hold out and not buy one though.I gotta remind my self just a few % of performance lol

Well less noise too. Going to strap on one of my silent FUGLY noctua fans.
They may be the fan that only a mother would call beautiful, but they work wonders for radiator cooling.

No charge, no delay. I didn't really expect being charged as I'm sure they probably have a thousand fans and fans are something covered under warranty anyways. Still grateful, though.

They got it Wed, shipped it Thursday, so no complaints from me. I'm going to sit on this water kit nonsense that's going on now and hope SOMETHING releases early next week... all the teasing is killing me.

Ah! See I knew you would get yours first! I sent mine out same day, got there a day later 3/30 at 11:45 AM. Granted I am in Canada and no where near as close as you, but they still havent shipped mine yet :/ Hoping it won't take them the whole day tomorrow to get it out. Also won't get my card till FASTEST April 3rd which probably won't happen tbh. T-T Lets wait till April 5th! But ONE good thing was that i chose 4-7 day shipping and it got there in 3. Sent it Monday at 2 PM got there Thursday at 11:45 AM. I know it sounds like 4 days but Monday to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday. THATS 3. Thanks FedEx :)

P.S. Is there a link to the potentiel EK 1080 Ti AIO cooler? I'm intrigued but can't find it online.

must have been lucky with them being busy. as i feel a missing fan would be something they would charge you for as they do re use these for b stock/rma's so it would need a fan.

I did the ICX upgrade thing and I will be receiving the FTW2 this Friday.  I got an email from EVGA saying that they registered my card and after seeing that, I checked and did the Step up.  I entered 679.99 as instructed and selected my shipping method.  Shortly after I got the Step 1 Email confirmation which also mentions that I should upload my invoice.  Since this was an ICX upgrade, I don't need to upload an invoice, correct?  Anyhow, I see a lot of people getting to Step 2 the same day they got to Step 1.  Should I call, or is a wait to get to Step 2 normal?

Thanks!

step 2 is once you are done waiting in que. idk where you saw people getting that email the same day it takes a lot longer than same day took from 3/14 to 3/24 . this is what step 2 email starts off with
We are happy to announce that your Step-Up request has completed the queue process. EVGA will now review your request by looking over your invoice. Any adjustments to the price will occur at this step. If you are approved, you will receive another email with instructions to pay for your Step-Up

Gotcha.  In the beginning of this thread, it seemed like a lot of people were starting step one on 3/10 and getting to step 2 on the same day.  Either way, I am just going to sit back and wait.  I am guessing the automated email I got is just a standard email which doesn't take the ACX to ICX upgrade into consideration.

Thanks.

Thanks.

ah ya the people who go in step up Q very early didn't have any waiting time to reach the Q but after that like you and me its normal to have to wait in line for a bit

Aw UPS is the worst outta those companies :/ they're the only ones who charge for Saturday shipping. But anyways, demon, it's possible that I could get it Saturday. May not be likely but a man can dream right? Sent out Friday, 1 day to ship = Saturday :D Just drive a helicopter instead of a Mai, truck and then BOOM. GPU. XD

My 1080ICX upgrade arrived and didnt' even unwrap the plastic. Just threw it in a box and right back to evga.

I'll be doing the same. It's a shame that the process couldn't have been more efficient. I wouldn't have even minded the step up taking the same amount of time.. it just would have been nice if we didn't have to waste shipping the ICX card twice for nothing.
