I still have no idea how score works to be honest, but I'm not trying to get a Queue 3.0 card. It looks like from the products I have registered (1080ti FTW3 Hybrid, PSU, XR1, Z20 kb, and an X17 mouse) I'm sitting at 11 points. Not like I could even jump into a 3.0 queue anyway, they're all constantly closed.
no one knows...but some interesting things occured this morning for the Z690 Classified launch queue. People who got notifies times were all over the place, and some people who were really early didn't get emails

Heh, would be nice if it would affect my queue. Still waiting on a 3080 FTW3 Ultra. But judging by the most recent notify, I should hopefully get my ping soon. Joined the queue 12/12/2020 in the morning.

I think they made it clear that score isn't just commensurate with the number or price of the products you bought but also with your participation in the community and evga bucks. How each category weighs is unknown.

Ok guys... so YAYA I got my 3080 today FINALLY after over a year...... I install the drivers everything PERFECT.... HOWEVER, when I go to install the newest version off Precision X1 It says "We have detected outdated firmware... up date firmware?" And I (luckily?) decided to google this message and the very top result was" X1 firmware update bricked my 3080! I also read MANY other forum posts with EXACTLY the same thing happening to others. I really like precision but MAN am I fricken scared AF to hit that "Start" button. On the other hand some of the people are saying that this indicates a faulty VBIOS chip, so I'm wondering if I should just do it an RMA if it IS a faulty chip so I don't have to go through it later. I'm SERIOUSLY at a loss here guys. Say it is a faulty VBIOS chip and I don't get the firmware update, what problems will I run into? MAN I wanna just ramble off question after question because I'm at a loss so monumental I cannot remember being at such a loss before lol. I seriously don't know what to do!!!

Update the firmware and if it bricks it EVGA will send you a new GPU. If you wait to update it and it bricks it, you will get a used GPU. No reason not to update it.

Unless you're mining, I would just try it with stock settings first. If it works fine, then try MSI Afterburner, works with almost all GPU's. Don't assume that hardware is bad until you eliminate a software problem. FWIW, I've used Afterburner with several EVGA cards and it has worked great. I've also used precision X1 with good results, but that was a 2060.

Well I read further and people saying the VBIOS issue is just bull that some people were "spitballing"
I waited so fricken long I'm so afraid to do anything that might mess this card up BEFORE EVEN TRYING IT.
I'm gonna spark up a game play it for 2 minutes... go ooohh... ahhh.... then just take the plunge and do it wish me luck.

Edit... so I did the ooh ahh thing, and MAN that ooh ah turned out to be muhc louder and more pronounced than I expected! AMAZING performance compared to what I was using.... and now I'm afraid again Dx (I guess you can't delete messages here huh?) Also I never heard of a FIRMWARE update bricking a card... but apparently it's being sed that this might be a BIOS update? Im lost on this....... Is it important? I really like precision I've been using it for over a decade! Switching to afterburner just seems.... janky....

Uhhh.... ok....... I did it. Took like 15 seconds........ no issues.... however precision will not start up. Now I'm scared to restart my computer lmfao........ as if it's still doing something.... but it's not it's just splash screen then.... nothing.
At least it's not a bricked card.......... unless you don't see an edit in 5 minutes after restarting my PC. Of course it's ALWAYS something! Why would X1 simply just not work after the firmware update?

I get where you're coming from but I disagree with the analogy. It's more like saying I'm foregoing a feature to avoid potential issues I shouldn't have in the first place. HOWEVER, as I figured everything went smooth I restarted PC and now everything works beautifully! nomoss

And dude... you don't know how much this helped hahaha. Your sentiment is EXACTLY my own, I just needed confirmation from someone else... (which I'd rarely need, if you knew my conviction you'd be surprised I'm saying this at all) to comfort my nerves. Seriously thank you!!! You told me exactly what I needed to hear! I was as confident it would work as I am when doing a BIOS flash, it's just...... THIRTEEN MONTHS!!!! And to have to wait another 2 weeks I can't.......... Anyway thank you sir for pointing out the obvious! And to the other guy... I also thought about the afterburner angle but IDK.... The OCD is strong with me. It surrounds me, and binds me together.
