No, it was being shipped to Florida, payed for via valid US credit card etc, all within the rules. Evga blocks transactions from non US credit cards and Paypal accounts, and forwarding addresses before you can place an order. But the order went through just fine, and was cancelled about 3 hours later. A few months ago I got a 3070Ti (non FTW version) for my friend there with this exact EVGA account, no problems. Now this card was intended for me and my bad luck decided to play games with me I guess.

Sounds odd to me. Maybe somebody ordered the similar card to the same address with a different account?

I'd give EVGA a call tomorrow at 9 am PT when they open.

Can't understand why so many are complaining about the new AMD dark board. It's really quite simple. If you don't like it, then simply don't buy it. Done.    Move on and get something you do like.  Maybe they will come out with a 4 slot FTW sub par board you might like...or not. Its been proven time and time again that 2 slot boards get better memory overclocking and that's what this board is for.

This.

I thought it was common knowledge but I guess not, 4 sticks is just for vannity.

People spend un the low hundreds for 4 stick kits and dont even know its worse than two though not by a huge margin.

For the sake of conversation, this

(and other videos on the subject) is why I was inquiring why 2 slots only on a top-end motherboard.
I now understand that 2 RAM slots only setups make for better overclocking scores, which is the main purpose why the Dark series of EVGA motherboard exists (as I get it) so this layout does have a point.

If you use dual rank ram in the 2 slots, you will get the same performance as 4 sticks, if I recall that video correctly.

I really think if someone looks at the EVGA X570 Dark and says "only 2 slots and it's $699, that's crazy"... probably not the board for you.  If you look at it and say "oooohhh that's going to be one bada$$ OCing board and only 2 slots too", then you will want it.  The board is very niche IMO and won't be desirable for most, even enthusiast level gamers.

It is one pretty looking board though, not sure why this has stirred up such debate, but I like it :D

Steve never said which slots they used when testing with just 2 sticks. I know my MSI motherboard will tell me (when using 2 sticks) which slots to use for best performance. Steve was using a Gigabyte motherboard in that test, so I don't know if Gigabyte warns you that your not using the correct 2 slots for best performance. So I'm not sold that 4 sticks are better than 2 sticks based off that video.

I went from 32gb (2x16) single rank to 32 (4x8), same speed and CL ram, albeit not exact same timings, on a Crosshair VIII Hero with 5600X, changed nothing else, and I gained fps in my benchmarks.  I read the manual and used the proper slots, as I assume Steve, being the super geek he is, also did.  There was quite a bit of to-do about this topic on Zen3 launch, I never read where it was disproved than Zen 3 liked 4 sticks over 2 sticks (assuming the 2 sticks were single rank).

The 2 v 4 RAM debate has been going on forever, but this is very interesting.  I've always bought just 2 sticks because "everybody knows" that's better.  Steve to the rescue once again!

But not even GN Steve could save this foolish swimmer from the terror that lurks below.

I do trust Steve enough to be sure that he used proper RAM slots in his testings.
But same results have also been achieved by other tech sites/youtubers anyway.
I'd like to stress out that it seems the "2 vs 4 RAM modules" with 4 modules being better, only emerged with the Ryzen 5000 series, and, iirc, Steve contacted AMD engineers, and they confirmed they had the same results in their internal tests.
More researchs were due as to find out the why of these results and I never investigated deeper after GN's video, given I was already settled on a MiniITX build so I was already locked on a 2 RAM slot only MoBo anyway.
One of these days I will dig into this again, just for fun and knowledge (and my next project, a customized, full water cooled, Power Mac G4 first gen case build), and, maybe, resume this topic here! We gotta spend time on our watch somehow anyway!

One stick = 32bits (single banks)
Two sticks = 64bits (dual banks)
Four sticks = 64bits + 64bits
Four sticks is 64bits in series for max capacity NOT performance.

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/09/23 09:04:13 (permalink)
So, quick confession...I watched the premier of Survivor last night. I told myself at the time it was because I was thinking that they might come across a pallet of missing K|NGP|N Hydro Coppers, but I was lying to myself. Nothing material to report from the episode...Probst is looking both older and fitter than ever.

enewt jr. doesn't get to watch much television, but Survivor is one that we've let her watch...we've always wanted to show the positives and negatives of competition (with a bend towards competition = good), and the show seems to hit those topics pretty well. As an aside, her favorite, all-time contestant is Christian Hubicki (and this is his iconic scene, it truly gets started at about 1:54). So last night's viewing was also a prescreen to make sure that it's appropriate for her at version 10.0 (all good).

There were a few reports overnight (so some changes to the 3987, 3785 and 3959 below) and a few folks reportedly passed on their invites yesterday, so -- at minimum -- there should be some stragglers for the queues today.

Best of luck!

Finally ordered my 70Ti FTW3... only to find out hours later that my order got canceled. With no explanation in the email whatsoever. Now I have to wait even longer while the support figures it out... Why EVGA, WHY? :(

Hi michaelbersik.  As I recall, you don't live within North America. Is that still the case? I assume you registered on the evga.com queue which is for North America-based folks.  Were you trying to ship to a freight forwarder or otherwise trying to get it shipped outside of North America?

No, it was being shipped to Florida, payed for via valid US credit card etc, all within the rules. Evga blocks transactions from non US credit cards and Paypal accounts, and forwarding addresses before you can place an order. But the order went through just fine, and was cancelled about 3 hours later. A few months ago I got a 3070Ti (non FTW version) for my friend there with this exact EVGA account, no problems. Now this card was intended for me and my bad luck decided to play games with me I guess.

Sounds weird; even if it were the same address sounds like it's a different SKU so it shouldn't be a problem. Contact support ASAP and hopefully they'll get it sorted. Good luck.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the community spreadsheet ☺️. I hope you all get your card soon!

I'm super late to this as my EVGA 1080 ti just died last weekend. IDK why considering it was only 3 years old, I guess it's because I bought it second hand (the guy selling it to me bought it in april 2018).

All I wanted to say was that the google doc has been a godsend and I wanted to extend my sincere thanks to the OP. Thanks so much!

enewt, I decided to unbox the z20 kb last night, clicky is an understatement LOL.  I do like the board and the wrist rest though.  One question, did you notice your 3.5 headphone jack on the board to be really loose?  Mine is terrible.  I won't use it anyways, but just curious.

Yes, "clicky" is true in advertising to the extreme.

I did not notice the 3.5 headphone jack as I use a USB connection for my headset.  Looking at it now, it looks fine...nothing unusual.  I tried it with another headset and no issues...crystal clear.  Doubt I would use the jack on a regular basis even if I was a standard 3.5 headset user...I just don't like that many cables off of my keyboard (I even use cable sleeves for my monitor, keyboard and mouse connections to try to minimize the clutter...only middling success).

I took it and used enewt's code.  It will likely find a home in an eGPU setup for someone in my family.
