In the grand scheme of things, people re selling cards makes up for a teeny tiny amount of cards in all. If you added all those cards back into the pool and they went to people who weren't going to resell them - it would do absolutely nothing to help the situation we're still in: no cards to buy still.
It strikes me hard how many people do not have ability to think or have no basic education.
In capitalism:
- everyone is free to ask any price.
- everyone is entitled to spend their money the way they want
- scalpers exist because of shortage in supply and people willing to pay extorted price.
Nvidia is the bad company that deceive consumers and disturb the market. Hope they will pay the price for doing that.
I guess we'll have to wait and see how AMD does on the 28th

No, it isn't. Not even close. There are price gouging laws to prevent overcharging in a wide variety of scenarios, and anti trust laws that prevent raising prices on consumers without fair competition. And thats for STARTERS. Going into further detail would clearly be a waste of my time when I'm conversing with someone lacking such basic knowledge.

I secured one but gave it to my brother (his GPU died and he has been without for more than a month); his circumstances necessitate that he get the first one the family secures as he has no other computer. I am using a 3 year old laptop...which is why I am spending too much time in this forum and in a google sheet...and not enough time gaming. I have my eye on playing Death Stranding and Cyberpunk before Christmas if the gpu gods are good to me. Oh, and trying to be competitive in Rocket League, Escape from Tarkov and PUBG. Until then, I am able to play games that are only slightly more graphic intensive than Zork. By the way, Dwarf Fortress is a great ASCII-based game...google it rather than wait for the graphics-based version that will eventually come out on Steam. /now back to our regularly scheduled programming

...you do realize "price gouging" laws literally don't exist outside of necessary items to live, like water or fuel after a state of emergency, etc...right? I guess we'll have to wait and see how AMD does on the 28th
TSMC's process (who AMD is using) has a WAYYYYY better yield than Samsung. Like 90%. And I don't think they've rushed their launch at all like Nvidia did. They've actually given partners ample time to get chips and get cards manufactured. I'm sure they will still have an initial shortage. But I bet it won't be anywhere near this level.

Respectfully, I think you have both made your points. We've heard them and will, in our own judgment, consider their merit offline. May I please ask that we put this topic on the shelf and return to the more pressing activity of hitting F5 on our respective in-boxes and considering whether we need to do surgery on our cases to fit these cards into our systems? We need to self-police this thread or risk it being locked without appeal.
