For those you have received the email(s) and placed their order I have a question about the links.  I understand they expire after 8 hours, but is it a one shot deal or can you revisit the link as many times as needed during that 8 hours.  I'm imagining a nightmare scenario where something screwy happens after I click the link and try to order but am then SOL. Thanks and good luck everyone!

It's reclickable. The first time I clicked the link, I got a message that said it was invalid, and my eyes bugged out. I clicked the link again and then it properly registered.

LOL, hope you don't have a heart-stopping moment like I did.

Just got my email for the 3090 in my sig!

The 3090 is moving much faster than 3080.  I didn't put one in until 10/5 but at this rate I will likely get a notify email before the 3080 that I put notify in on 9/20.
I'm fine getting a 3090

From what I can see on the spreadsheet, as of this posting, from the first confirmed 3090 FTW3 email receipt to me (the last one so far that has confirmed) is 25 spots/units. A lot of people in between haven't filled in their info.

Hopefully there are more after me as well!

I just noticed the same thing. 25 per shipment isn't much. Hopefully they get more than 25 cards each week!

Okay I'm going to sound like a total noob here but please bear with me: I didn't build a PC for 6+ years or touch anything technical so I just want to make sure lol...

When I receive my 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming I want to know how should I connect it power-wise? I noticed that there is 3 connectors on the card and I have a 1000w BeQuiet Dark Power pro 11. I have VGA cables (modular) that are going IN the PSU with 12 pins on that side and it ends up with 2x 6+2 pins at the other end for GPUs.

Should I use 2 cables like that to connect the card (so one 6+2 won't be used) or 3 so each plug has a different cable (so 3x 6+2 pins won't be used)?

Hope I explained the right way here. I was going with just 2 cables (the minimum) but want to make sure first.

EDIT: Those cables:

Buy both. Sell the 3090 when the 3080 becomes available. You may make enough extra to cover the purchase of the 3080.

Use as many separate cables as you can. If you have 3 separate 6+2 cables use all 3. But if it only has 2 cables with 2x 6+2 each that would be fine. Just don't have all 3 plugged in from the same cable (I doubt your PSU even has that config). 3 Separate is best but at least 2 separate is fine.

Edit: I looked up your PSU and it looks like you have 4x PCIe cables with 2x 6+2 on each cable. It would be best to use 3 of those cables only using 1 connector on each cable. You could get away with doubling up on one cable, but since you have plenty it would be best to separate them.

The spreadsheet is objectively useless, even if people think otherwise - that is the literal definition of a placebo, which I have already mentioned. Your argument is based on people finding it useful, which just makes me palm my face and isn't really an objective argument at all. Explain what factual data we can usefully glean from your sheet in regards to queue progress? Nothing, man. It can't tell us real position in queue or even come close, or how long we need to wait, or the average rate of progress. It's just meaningless numbers.

I tried to point out how trying to draw any conclusions on the spreadsheet was silly back around page 101 and he blew me off as well.  You cant point out reality to people like this.  He wants this thread to keep going strong so he can spam his code so he can get EVGA Bucks. Anyone pointing out that the spreadsheet isn't very helpful is hurting him profiting from it.

It really is sad how people use the official EVGA forums to pimp their associate code. It's just such a low class, tacky thing to do. You'd think the moderators would take a few minutes to clean up the mess and issue infractions/bans to  those that keep doing it.

The posts that are basically thinly veiled attempts at pimping their promo codes are the ones that really make me laugh.

LOL I agree. I pretty much consider it spam. Especially the entire threads people make just to pimp their code. The whole point was just to put the badge in your signature and post as usual, but for some reason EVGA has decided to allow spam threads/posts for associate codes. It really makes the forums look bad IMO. I wish I never signed up for it quite frankly, at the time I didn't know you couldn't use one if you yourself had one. oops

We are contributing exactly as much as those that are pimping their associates codes. : )

The sheet might not be accurate but it gives AT LEAST an idea and I believe the person who started this was genuine in his/her intentions.

Just whining and saying that it's just to ''pimp'' the associate code tells me you're just bitter you didn't think of doing that first for the community.

It's actually helping everyone a bit. What did you guys do so far to help hmm?

The spreadsheet is good. It might not be fully accurate but it gives you some idea and some hope. Without it we would all just be wondering. I don't think it was created to pimp a code. The person who created it might not even be on this forum. It came from reddit originally. I think you are referring to the fact that people are sick of seeing all the "add me" posts in this thread. I don't blame anyone for helping out but it does get a bit much with the code thing. The real annoyance is that people won't just use them spreadsheet to add themselves. Quite frankly all of us are derailing this thread. We should let it get back to people who received emails about buying cards. Those are the posts people want to see.

The vast majority of the people that post here have Associates Codes. The vast majority of us made a conscious choice to show some class and respect to other users by not using these forums as a means to pimp our codes. Can you just imagine how horrible this place would look if *everyone* that had a code decided to turn this forum into our own little market place and continually throw up posts ad naseum asking people to use them?

Those of us that don't do it aren't bitter that we didn't think of it, we're bitter that others have no class or respect for others on these boards. And as long as EVGA is allowing those that have associate codes to abuse the program by pimping them here, then we should have the same ability to voice our displeasure about it.

What did you do so far to help hmm?

It was started by Reddit I believe, it wasn't started by a member here trying to help people.  I'm not against the idea of it in general.  But I think people aught to understand just how unreliable it is.  At best, It can give you a general rough idea of where you are, at worse it'll be a disappointment as more and more people fill it out and people see themselves getting pushed further and further back in the list.
I don't want people to think its a reliable list and that they can bank on it being reliable... because it's not.

As for spamming the associate code thing, here's how I see it.  Lets say there are 8 posts about being added.  There are two options.
A) Reply to everyone in a single comment, with your associate code in your signature it gets put on the thread and everyone sees it once.
B) Reply to each person individually, with your associate code in your signature it gets put on the thread and everyone sees it... 8 times.

A is generally considered at many forums to be proper forum etiquette anyway regardless of the associate code thing.  When someone decides to do B instead of A, across dozens of pages in a thread... it starts to lean towards the spam side of things.  That's why people have started to make that comment.

For clarity, I wasn't even against him spamming the forum with his code when I was having interchanges with him. It's on page 101 if you want to verify that I'm not making that up.  All I wanted to point out is that the spreadsheet isn't objectively reliable, and it wasn't even a reply to him. It was a reply to another about their comment where they brought up statistics.  He was the one that stepped in to "defend the honor" of the spreadsheet.
