JamminR It pains me when I see, even in short supply, drops of cards I want from my queue listed at B&H/Best Buy/etc, at new cost, and no reports of the same exact card or two dropping here. I've been paying attention to a stock track discord that has a bot that attempts to let us humans know when drops occur. 1 of the 2 cards I want had a good size drop at both retailers last Friday and this last Sunday. I actually could have gotten one..added to cart and everything, but I thought, save some money, surely they'll be movement in the next two days. Nope. Still 9/16 and 9/18. 10G-P5-3885-KR12/14/2020 6:56:14 AM PTNo

Really, when was that? If true need to start practicing F5 skills.

CptT95 It depends, many if not most of those who signed up don't bother with this forum. So 18 seconds could be a ton of people, or being a niche model of GPU there could be a more reasonable number. You are most likely looking at end of next week at the latest, so long as this card becomes part of the regular drops like I heard.
Respectfully disagree. I think 9:16 still has a long wait. There are a ton of people just between 9:03 and 9:05. I’m at 9:04:38 and expect to have at least another month and probably longer.
You're probably right, especially with the lunar new year coming up and work stopping in SE Asia for a couple of weeks. All queues have a bottleneck. Some have more than one. The bottleneck for the 3898 queue appears to be before 9:05. It's most likely going to move ≈20 seconds at a time until it covers that ground. I'm at 9:08 and some change and will consider it a win if I get a purchase email before the prices go up in April.

To be honest, your sign-up times are REALLY far off in the queue. If you get the chance to buy a card with the new tariff pricing, that'll be your best chance to get it the soonest. Its highly unlikely that you'll get the 3885 or 3895 in the next 3 or 4 (or even 5 or 6) months. Sorry to be a downer, just being realistic. For me, waiting is easy because I have a 2060 to hold me over AND I play mainly low-graphics games, no AAA titles unless they're a couple years old, like RDR2 (no RTX or DLSS on this game, but I want to play it with the highest settings and most frames possible on 2K). My advice to everyone is to just have a wait or purchase plan, even if it means paying tariff pricing, and try to stay sane. I hate scalpers.

Take a look at the second tab of this spreadsheet. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSq5nCC5t97F8mQk0bWVb6SPK1qIu1DD_4Ya7-uw1kfSWa9Z6unWieUbKMNVG9Gsm-JUJupc8VHdPFh/pubhtml# And also the 3060 Ti XC GAMING Tab of that same spreadsheet. I added you to it (blanking your name since I didn't get your permission), and it seems like someone after you already got the order email but they may have mistyped their sign-up time or didn't enter it in Pacific Time? If the previous time of 06/12 00:55 Pacific is correct, you're not that far off.

philipma1957 When you look and see the resellers on amazon I think 20% of the stock went to bots. Right now eth mining earns 0.0725 an mh so 3060ti = 60 x 0.0725 or 4.35 a card daily 652.50 dollars in 150 days and 3070 = 65 x 0.0725 or 4.71 a card daily 705.50 dollars in 150 days 3080 = 95 x 0.0725 or 6.88 a card daily 1032.00 dollars in 150 days Obviously power costs will lower that profit but when a quality card is 100% paid for in 150 days the demand will not end. Every day I have a guy looking for me to build him a 2 card rig to mine/game and every day I tell them I can't get gpus. Some people are making $$ on this.
I am not familiar with mining...that is "earning" before the cost of electricity, right? So before electricity costs are deducted, a 3080 makes $175 after deducting the cost of the card (assuming taxes, etc.) over 150 days. I bet the electricity costs eat up that $175 pretty quickly, no?
A 3080 makes around $6-7 per day using Nicehash, calculate a 10% or so leccy bill and it can be quite profitable. They generally downclock the card, drop 500 on the core, set power target to around 65% and up the mem by 1200-1400 and the performance is around 400kH/j. A 3080 only uses around 240 watts at that point. Do the same to a 3070 and it uses 150 watts and earn $4-5 per day. 3060 TI does even better and is easier to put in to large mining setups as it only uses 1 8 PIN power connector.

Took me about 2 hours to come up with that arrangement & get it fitted in there just right so the sides would close & there was no issues with wiring. How'd the drops go yesterday, I kinda missed it messing around with the Kingpin. Sounds like the 3080 FTW3 Ultra didn't drop at the very least. Hopefully we get some good drops today to progress y'all's needs ^_^

Do you have a cooling fan wedged under that GPU?

That's for the M.2 drives actually (and it's not wedged, it's free and could move if I turned it up, usually I have it running at 50% which is about 1050rpm), I found that they got quite warm back when I had an open-air cooled card (3080 FTW3 Ultra) so I put a fan down there just to blow air over/through the M.2 areas & the chipset. It made a huge difference with the air-cooled card & keeps them from warming up too much while gaming even with the more closed-off cards like the 3090 FTW3 Hybrid I had before, and now the Kingpin. Kingpin has a bit more air leakage because of the perforations in it's shroud, but I'm fairly certain it's not a significant amount of heat actually getting in to the case. As an aside, anyone planning to get the Kingpin specifically, make sure you plan on replacing the radiator's fans. They are actually THE worst fans I have ever seen on anything eVGA related radiator wise. The blades are not wide enough, gaps between them are huge, their static pressure must be absolutely horrible. Swapped out to my EK Vardars, we'll see how they effect load temps here in a bit in game.

I was planning on replacing those fans with Noctuas... Are the included fans PWM? If not, does the KP wiring support 4 pin? I am at work right now and cannot look.

I wouldn't hook the fans up to the GPU if you can avoid it, effects your power limit (not a huge hit, but 3 fans isn't nothin' that's for sure), but the plug ins for both types of Hybrid cards (FTW3 & Kingpin) are 4-pin PWM. I have my GPU radiator fans plugged in to an EK splitter that powers directly from the PSU, and has a PWM control/input plug that runs to my motherboard, then the motherboard controls the fan speed based on a thermocouple (that connects to the motherboard) that I ran up to the exhaust-air of the radiator - the GPU radiator fans increase in speed as the exhaust temp of the GPU radiator goes up, and vice versa. Not sure which motherboards do & do not come with the temp sensor wires, but I'm glad mine did. Course I could always plug the PWM control plug in to the GPU's plugs for the fans and control it that way if need be. The EK splitter is over priced on Amazon, but you can also get it from EK directly (their shipping is expensive for such a small thing though), I have 2 of them (one for my intake fans, 1 for the radiator fans): https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-cable-splitter-4-fan-pwm-extended

Cool! I already run my case fans off a temp probe (inside case temp). I have debated running the KP fans off the motherboard, just wanted to control the fans off GPU temp, but a slightly aggressive static rpm could work too. Thanks for the ideas/links.

How were the stock fans on the ftw3 ultra hybrid? Also you know of a 5 fan powered splitter like that? I am thinking of getting 3 corsair ml120 pros for the side of my lian li o11d xl and putting rad and its two stock fans on the inside of that compartment and having the whole assemble of 5 fans exhaust

The fan cables on the Kingpin fans are EXTREMELY short, you would need an extension or splitter like that to run them off the motherboard as well. They cord is 6" from fan to plug - yet another reason to definitely replace them. I typically put it where the fans on the radiator for the GPU are barely pushing air at all when idle (right now they're at ~645rpm which is almost the slowest the EK fans can go) and then ramping up to a maximum acceptable loudness when the air coming out of the radiator is warmer. Even with the fans being "asleep" while idle like that, I'm still idling at 22-24C with 70-72F ambient temps outside the case. The stock RGB fans on the Hybrid models (at least on the 3090 FTW3 Hybrid I had) were MUCH better than the stock Kingpin fans. Those moved more air, had higher RPM (louder, but yeah), only down side was them having both power & RGB cords coming off them. They're not the best, but they're far better than the fans on the Kingpin Radiator.

CptT95 How were the stock fans on the ftw3 ultra hybrid? Also you know of a 5 fan powered splitter like that? I am thinking of getting 3 corsair ml120 pros for the side of my lian li o11d xl and putting rad and its two stock fans on the inside of that compartment and having the whole assemble of 5 fans exhaust
See the post I just made for the first part, didn't see your post til after I put that up, but in summary: The FTW3 Hybrid radiator fans were far better than the stock Kingpin radiator fans. Not aware of any splitters with more plugs than that, I think it's a general thing of "4-pin PWM fans can pull a lotta juice so powering more than 4 off a single molex is not ideal" thing. I'd do that the other way around if I were you, do the 5 fans as intake where possible & do the GPU radiator as exhaust, so you're not intaking that warm air in to your case as intake. Like I've showed before, the Hybrid radiator exhaust can get up to 34-41C, having air that warm as intake will result in your RAM, CPU VRMs, M.2 drives & even the VRM temps of your GPU (because that's where it's getting the air from to cool it's internals, the case) all much warmer than they would be if they're getting 22-25C intake air instead. CptT95 9 x 25 bucks a fan is more then I paid for the case 😆🤣
Yeah, the EK fans are similarly priced, I didn't pay for mine though :-D

Would you recommend putting ml120 pro nonrgb on the rad for the 3080 hybrid? I was putting the side fans as exhaust with top 360mm aio for cpu as exhaust with its own control hub/power one back fan above IO for exhaust and 3 bottom fans as intake with steep fan curve set to gpu temp

This is the most troubling rub right here. Makes those of us in the queue feel like a mere afterthought, rather than any kind of priority.

comrade I'd like a new 3090 card as much as anyone on this list. It's frustrating and all that..., but I just spent the last two days at the hospital undergoing my monthly chemotherapy for a very rare form of incurable cancer that I have. It will eventually kill me. They don't know what causes it, but it showed up and was diagnosed just as I retired and thought I'd have a comfortable retirement. Sitting in the oncology center at the hospital, getting pumped full of chemicals that they bring in, in double-walled sealed steel containers, wearing what is essentially a hazmat suit and air supply, and having it hooked up to the chemo port permanently installed in my chest, I sit and feel it going in and causing a burning sensation and the occasional times of uncontrollable shaking. I sit and watch all the other people in there, some quite young, some old like I am, and some going into sealed rooms for radiation treatment. These days, with the pandemic, even the parents sitting with their children, mostly only one parent at a time, and all wearing double masks, and the occasional sounds of someone in the restroom throwing up, the sense of what's important and what isn't really hits home! I wonder how many of the people in that room are constantly checking their email on their phones to see if they are going to be able to get a certain video card so they can play a new game at a very high frame rate. I doubt that there are any of them doing that! Chill out people! Most of you have many years of ever improving computer gaming ahead of you. Some of us don't!
I fear my words will ring as hollow, but I want you to know that even though we come on here and complain about not getting graphics cards, it doesn't mean we don't care about other things. While I don't have cancer myself, I have lost close family and friends to it. I cannot imagine what you're going through. I hope you and everyone else here gets their graphics cards as soon as possible, and I wish you the best with your ongoing treatments. Personally, I do not fear death, but I absolutely fear getting something like cancer that adds suffering without killing you right away. I wish we could figure out a cure, comrade!!!

You can always test both, see if there's an temperature difference. The stock FTW3 Hybrid radiator fans are pretty solid on air-movement, but they do get insanely loud once you go past 2000RPM or so - If you already have the fans to replace them, you can always start with a push/pull setup, see if you are okay with the noise level on the stock fans as the push of the push/pull setup, and if not, swap them out. I swapped to EK Vardar EVO RGB fans right when I got my FTW3 Hybrid, ended up going back to the stock fans as the push with the Vardars as pull on the radiator setup. I would definitely do push/pull if you have the room & fans to, it's not a gigantic difference in temps, but I'd guess it's probably 3-5C or so under heavy load, and that can be the difference between a step-down in frequency due to temperature and not. It's a fairly densely finned rad, so having flat/flush pull fans taking air out of it definitely helps. I never did extensive testing with Push vs Push/Pull on the FTW3 Hybrid to know for sure.

I'm sure EVGA would rather sell all their cards direct to the queue and collect the full retail markup on each one rather than sell them to large retailers at wholesale (and likely with significant volume discounts) and get a lot less per card. However, they have distribution agreements and contracts to consider and the basic fact that each of us will probably buy a single card once every few years and Best Buy or New Egg, etc will buy (perhaps tens of) thousands of cards annually.

Dabadger84 Someone said there's no way I can fit both of these radiators up top. https://i.ibb.co/vz8HmKV/20210127-053550b.jpg And yes, the sides close.
You have the Thermaltake View 91? (from your mods rigs) What do you think of it?

I mean I get it. But I don't know if I agree with this post. I'm a cancer survivor, spent more time than I care to count getting infused. Blood draws. Surgeries etc. When I was going through that I still lives as much as I could, and although other people's problems may not of been as bad you still can't really compare. I don't know if I or others in my ward would of ever posted anything like this.
