rodgerboles So what's the explanation for all of the 3090s (specifically the 3987) being released all of a sudden? None of the other models are showing such leaps forward in the queue timing.
In my opinion, it wasn't very many 3090 FTW3 Ultras...its just that very few people registered for that card in December and thus the timeline moved much, much faster....

The next material restocking of salt will hit around September 24 (the 3090 anniversary), with a huge amount of fresh salt on October 5 (the Queue announcement anniversary). With respect to card drops, however EVGA drops available inventory to the Queue each weekday (excluding EVGA holidays).

pretty sure the queue just hit a lull in notifies so a few cards look like huge leaps

Yeah not much going on in Jan 2021. It will hit a brick wall at Feb 2021, that's when the price of ETH went way up along with the scalped price of cards.

If ever there was proof of the demise of Western purchasing power this multi year wait to buy a GPU is slap in the face proof. We are in trouble-our corporate masters chased 90 day times lines while Asia chased 9 year time lines. We cannot make a single GPU in America.

So I got an HP Omen with a laptop R9-5900HX/RTX 3070 and debating getting out of queue. I just wanted a good upgrade from my 5700xt, and that is hard to find for under 1k. But now that AMD enabled SAM on my 5700xt and I have a good laptop GPU for any Nvidia centric games I can debating if I even need an RTX 3080 or 3090. And not my 5700xt feels like it has new life with one of its primary selling points finally being enabled. The laptop RTX 3070 and desktop RX5700xt trade blows, with the 5700xt producing more reliable frame rates but the RTX 3070 laptop GPU producing perfect visuals.

Thanks for the good advice. I will take it and run. I might not get called for a year or more with this queue line. I do not mine but I used to donate to [link=mailto:Folding@home]Folding@home[/link] before the GPU shortage; I cannot risk being without a card so I stopped folding until I get a new card, b ut I do not want a mining restricted card because it also kills folding performance. Once I get a 3080 or 3090 I would like to see how they fold. That actually makes the world better, unlike the crypto miners enabling dictators and despots to track every purchase eg. China and El Salvador. As I cannot realistically fold on a laptop I will stay in queue. However, the Quadro RTX 5000 is starting to look better to me each day. I do not game as much as I compute (finance and 3d) so if I come across a reasonable RTX 5000 or even a Quadro RTX 4000 I may jump on it. I prefer precision over speed any day. While I don't have the exact numbers, due to thermal and power constraints, laptop GPUs tend to be a tier lower than their discrete counterparts. So your mobile 3070 would probably be closer to a 3060 in performance.

It trades blows with a 2070 Super so yeah a 3060 is probably close. Not bad at 100 watts. I could overclock it but no need. I am happy with the performance at 1440p; never bellow 100FPS in the games I play so it is perfect with this 165Hz monitor.

Thanks for the update! Hopefully fewer folks will miss their window and require rehabilitation of their invites...yet the window should still avoid further delaying of stragglers being issued the following day.

Awesome! Hopefully they will still help out anyone who accidentally misses their window; this will probably help a lot to cut down on such issues though.

220-T2-1000-X1 6/3/2021 11:31:55 AM PT Yes Nice. I know that's not quite as relevant here, but 1000W Titanium PSUs are scarce so I had queued up for it. Both my main PC and my all-purpose Win10 "server" are running EVGA 850 Titanium PSUs. I took this, using enewt's associate code naturally, and will save it for my next PC ... which will probably be an Intel 12900k when that comes out in the next month or so. So far, I have been putting the Intel T series 35W chips in my "server" builds so just leaving that one at 850 is probably fine. My main rig is currently a 7700k w/3090 and I only envision power demands going up not down, so the 1000W psu could come in handy.

Another one is available. Will skip this since I just grabbed the 1000W. (Yes I do know these are free for all and not reserved). 220-T2-1600-X1 6/9/2021 5:49:36 PM PT Yes

Won't that increase the overall que by 12 hours per notify? Assuming they use the entire window, then they can still get one. Probably cry and say they didn't see it. If your not checking your email at least once every 8 hours. Then IMHO you don't want it bad enough.

no..it's actually ideal because they can still get the passed over cards back in the queue the next day with a 20 hour window
