You can't really talk about time stamps before they announced the queue system at the start of October.
 
No one knew about it, and if they did everyone, including myself, would of queued up on day 1.

Well, given that we are 7 months since launch and the queue has only advanced 4 days, it seems that a LOT of people knew. Nobody had to tell them to click the "auto-notify" button.

you are right, they knew getting a notification about the cards being in stock would put them in a queue in a couple of weeks.

It's not about hindsight. If you are lurking on the EVGA website from 9/17-9/20 and you see the auto-notify for a card that you are interested in, why would you not click that button?!?! It makes no sense. It was already well known by 9/17 that a chip shortage was on the horizon. I have a feeling that at least most of the people who are complaining about other cards "stealing chips" from the 3897 were late to the party, and I mean really late. That's their own fault, but it's not like it was a fatal mistake. They had other chances to improve their situation by getting a better time stamp in queues that went live after the 3897. Everyone had the same opportunity to get a card, and a lot of people did. It's not right to be upset with people because they were more on top of things. We all know how it feels to be on the wrong end of that deal. All you can do is learn from it and move on.

but you are making the assumption that everyone knew that the auto-notify queue would be a thing when at the time it was only sending you an email letting you know that the cards  were in stock when actually they were already snatched up by bots. Again, if we are talking about after the queue announcement, I agree with your sentiment, but saying people weren't on top of it because they didn't want an auto notify stock button which didn't really help in the first place, doesn't make sense.

I think the bots are one of the biggest factors for worsening the supply situation. What little trickle is there, the bots are gobbling it up.

Yesterday, I saw a guy on Twitter bragging that his bot set-up was able to grab about 90% of the entire Best Buy stock drop for Canada. This included most GPU's and also PS5's. He included screenshots of his order details with sensitive information blacked out. It was so disgusting and the fact that retailers don't even really care is even more infuriating.

But this is not this case: only 3090 FTW Ultra available to Step-Up. 3090 XC in B-Stock can be from Step-Up, But this one:

Totally agreed about the bots. But we haven't even sorted the virus and the current buying frenzy in part is being driven by all the stimulus money pumped into the economy world wide. That will eventually have to be paid for.

You're taking his words literally which isn't true. When the 3080 ti arrives, it will be a new SKU that you can queue for, your old queue spots remain untouched. He's voicing his frustration that if a 3080 ti comes, his 3897 somehow dies which simply isn't true. 
 
If you want a guaranteed card, notify in the 3080 ti queue when it opens up in like <10mins and they'll probably ship it that same day.

Good point, the 3897 won’t die, but I’d still feel cheated: having to wait so long, and when you finally got the opportunity buy, the product is down a tier level...

Queuing up and getting a 3080ti on release day or even soon is not guaranteed. If you could transfer your queue position, it would be fairer IMO.

Explain how you felt cheated. You didn’t front money. All u did was typed a few keystroke and evga was nice to take your interest with an offer when supplies are available. If u just sat on the queue n expected a card , tbh u didn’t try hard and just went for a unicorn of a card. Kinda like all the folks who went for asus tuf cuz of 699 and they sat search for months without a card

I already explained why I would feel cheated if that were to happen. Yes, when the queue is offered, I expect to be able to just sit on it and get a card. The queue was graciously implemented by EVGA, to get cards into the hands of their loyal customers (I presume), so why wouldn’t I expect that?

There lies your own problem. What makes you think you previous purchases has more weight merit than others? The queue is just an interest to buy. Not a preorder. They are under no obligation. It is a privilege not a right. Entitled you are not. If u believe you are entitled to one the. Wait your turn. You’re behind others. until it’s not your turn. Keep waiting like you say. U expect a card. Sure you’ll get one. When it’s yours turn. It may take 10 years but you’ll get it

Who said anything about a previous purchase? EVGA offered the queue “privilege”. I didn’t ask for it, but I appreciate it. Am I behind others in the queue? I don’t recall posting my queue times (apologies to the community). In fact I’m due up soon.

I just think it would be another show of customer support, if EVGA allowed people who have been waiting in one of EVGA’s unfulfilled queues, a chance to move to a new one, especially if they are not going to produce that product in quantity, and introduce an entirely new product tier (3080ti). Again, that’s just my opinion, you’re welcome to your own. Just stop with your assumptions about me.

you don't even know exactly how many people are ahead of you (ill bet u a banana that there are over 10k people ahead of u on the xc3 black 3080 card ahead of u) and you'll still cry about the queue even if they move ur queue to a new one. oh they willl. they'll open up queue for new card.. but i guess wat, u dont wanna compete fair n square with everyone else and just wanna get insta lazy ported queue to a new one. next youre gonna see all the people ahead of u get one and you'll write another story on how u got cheated again by evga.
 
just go buy another aib brand if u dont like how evga is doing their queue... i hear zotac drops everyday and u can get a card from them if u tried

Been in the queue since September 22nd for the 3080. Over 7 months now. Unbelievable. I use to respect EVGA. Now they have lost every ounce of respect I have over the past few months.

Seeing all these prebuilt systems with 3080s for sale all over. All the big name streamers and company’s have them. But normal people like me have been waiting months and months. Still nothing. What a terrible thing this company has done. I know this seems like I’m whining and venting... whatever. I’m just so bummed about this. I’m actually going to be selling my PC I built last September since it just sits here without a GPU. I have other things I need to do now. I can’t keep waiting for this company to do the right thing anymore. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. Your patience is better than mine. I’m removing my position from the queue, so now you’re all 1 spot closer.

EU queue for 3060 is still under the 9:01 while NA is past 9:45 , can we do something about please? LOL
