Urobulus Pretty sure that the only people that really wish for the 3080TI to be announced are the ones who didn't queue early for the regular one (3897) when it was released, and now see a chance to be put on the same level, from scratch again, with all of us that have been waiting for 7+ months way before them. I personally really hope that the TI doesn't come out anytime soon and want the 3897 to continue instead. I didn't wait 7+ months just to have to restart my waiting from scratch again and be put at the beginning of the line again with those who arrived late to the party just because they decide to phase out the 3897 in favor of another model from scratch. So yeah no 3080TI thank you: just stop with the new SKUs and focus on the goddamn ones you can't even fulfill since the Setpember 2020 ffs!
My sentiments exactly! If they somehow allowed the currently queued peeps first crack, without messing with our queue positions, then I’d be okay with it.

l2ickeh Any idea when this may drop again? 3989 04/15/2021 10:00:17 I'm at 10:00:23.
Nobody outside of EVGA knows. Full Stop. In the past, Hybrid and HC drops go weeks between "new" (i.e., not straggler) drops. Best of luck!
I figured it would be sometime in May. Thanks.

You're taking his words literally which isn't true. When the 3080 ti arrives, it will be a new SKU that you can queue for, your old queue spots remain untouched. He's voicing his frustration that if a 3080 ti comes, his 3897 somehow dies because of shifting production from that to the new sku which simply isn't true. If you want a guaranteed card, notify in the 3080 ti queue when it opens up in like <10mins and they'll probably ship it that same day.

Good point, the 3897 won’t die, but I’d still feel cheated: having to wait so long, and when you finally got the opportunity buy, the product is down a tier level... Queuing up and getting a 3080ti on release day or even soon is not guaranteed. If you could transfer your queue position, it would be fairer IMO.

I was registering my 3090 ftw3 ultra and saw that a 3090 ftw3 ultra was in b-stock... had to get it for my buddy. But it error'd out. Then 3080 ftw3 ultra shows up, so I got that and it went through! A few hours later, I noticed both the 3090 and the 3080 already charged me and have shipping labels. Huzzah bstock and the timing.

Glad someone else here saw it besides me. Congratz! You basically got two premium cards almost instantly without waiting lol. Only downside is the 1 year limited warranty on them but beggers can't be choosers.

Something that high end is most likely an RMA rather than a step-up item. Though I suppose the Kingpin is even one step up further from the FTW3...

You can't really talk about time stamps before they announced the queue system at the start of October. No one knew about it, and if they did everyone, including myself, would of queued up on day 1.
Well, given that we are 7 months since launch and the queue has only advanced 4 days, it seems that a LOT of people knew. Nobody had to tell them to click the "auto-notify" button.
you are right, they knew getting a notification about the cards being in stock would put them in a queue in a couple of weeks. Hindsight is 20/20.
It's not about hindsight. If you are lurking on the EVGA website from 9/17-9/20 and you see the auto-notify for a card that you are interested in, why would you not click that button?!?! It makes no sense. It was already well known by 9/17 that a chip shortage was on the horizon. I have a feeling that at least most of the people who are complaining about other cards "stealing chips" from the 3897 were late to the party, and I mean really late. That's their own fault, but it's not like it was a fatal mistake. They had other chances to improve their situation by getting a better time stamp in queues that went live after the 3897. Everyone had the same opportunity to get a card, and a lot of people did. It's not right to be upset with people because they were more on top of things. We all know how it feels to be on the wrong end of that deal. All you can do is learn from it and move on.

I agree. Shockingly, I was at one time a part of the 3897 gang but my queue spot was so late, it's not even worth it. At that point, I made it a matter of priority to sign up for any future cards on launch day within mins of launch if possible. I've gotten several friends and family members next gen cards based off that experience. With all due respect, sitting here complaining about why EVGA isn't making more of your card instead of blaming yourself for your late queue spot is unproductive. Use that feeling you have now to do something about it. You can't change the past but you can the future in this regard, hence why I always tell people to be on the lookout for new SKUs coming and make it their life goal to get in it ASAP.

I already explained why I would feel cheated if that were to happen. Yes, when the queue is offered, I expect to be able to just sit on it and get a card. The queue was graciously implemented by EVGA, to get cards into the hands of their loyal customers (I presume), so why wouldn’t I expect that?

jasonlam I don’t recall seeing any headlines about a chip shortage in 2020. If you had the foresight to see the chip shortage, good for you.
omg lmao. U must be living In your own special bubble. Every new tech Gpu sincd pascal has been sold out on launch n hard to get. Then came crypto and Rtx 2000. The nvidia preorder lasted months. Common. U didn’t see this Rtx 3000 demand coming from 10 miles away?

EnigmicAzn You're taking his words literally which isn't true. When the 3080 ti arrives, it will be a new SKU that you can queue for, your old queue spots remain untouched. He's voicing his frustration that if a 3080 ti comes, his 3897 somehow dies which simply isn't true.
Explain how you felt cheated. You didn’t front money. All u did was typed a few keystroke and evga was nice to take your interest with an offer when supplies are available. If u just sat on the queue n expected a card , tbh u didn’t try hard and just went for a unicorn of a card. Kinda like all the folks who went for asus tuf cuz of 699 and they sat search for months without a card
I already explained why I would feel cheated if that were to happen. Yes, when the queue is offered, I expect to be able to just sit on it and get a card. The queue was graciously implemented by EVGA, to get cards into the hands of their loyal customers (I presume), so why wouldn’t I expect that?
There lies your own problem. What makes you think you previous purchases has more weight merit than others? The queue is just an interest to buy. Not a preorder. They are under no obligation. It is a privilege not a right. Entitled you are not. If u believe you are entitled to one the. Wait your turn. You’re behind others. until it’s not your turn. Keep waiting like you say. U expect a card. Sure you’ll get one. When it’s yours turn. It may take 10 years but you’ll get it
