That is one super attractive board...

Will this board be 16x, 8x, 8x in Tri-SLi?

Also, just noticed this very sexy SLi bridge:

Will this come standard with the X79 Dark?

Is there a 3-way version of this bridge? Would be very interested, even if it's a purchase separately item.

It's obvious that a lot of improvements can be had visually (new bios, board color scheme, etc) however my question remains? when should I expect to be able to stop playing "Musical USB Ports", Also it's sad that my Two GTX 680 Classys are watercooled and overclocked but under perform due to one PCI-E 2.0/3.0 slot running at 2.0 8x instead of 2.0 x16./3.0 x8

I like the way that BIOS is shaping up. Any updates on whether that'll carry back to other X79 boards without having to take my system apart to upgrade? Thanks!

So basically its the same bios dressed up and made pretty.. I am so very let down. Still no CPU offset, single core OC.. who knows what is in the Xtech config area, but somehow I doubt its the vdroop control that is apparently missing.

Exactly who is EVGA catering too with this new board? people that like shiney things?! I don't even know what to say anymore.

Jacob, can you re-confirm the form factor for the Dark?

If it really is XL-ATX it won't fit in the MKII MurderBox i ordered.

All the the pictures really make it look like it has the same size as the RIVE which is E-ATX.

This MB is currently the world record holder for quite a few different benchmarks by K|NGP|IN

You're blinded by the shiney.. for myself and quite a few others whos interest is more in line with a 24/7 overclock; I think you will find that a board that can function correctly coming out of sleep is more important then some guy maxing every setting under dice and setting virtual benchmark records.

EVGA has a whole forum of issues to answer for, and if the answer is a UI update to make the bios look pretty.. well thats not gonna go over well.

EVGA needs to figure out C-states and P-states or just give up. Niche market of world record setting overclockers isn't going to keep them in business.

Cool your jets my friend.

I understand your frustrated with other MB's in the X79 lineup. And this may very well be justified.

However, to criticize an unreleased product based on another product that was released months ago. I'm not entirely sure that's fair.

So far EVGA have said nothing about the BIOS fixing previous issues, simply that they have a new BIOS.

Might I suggest waiting until the product is released before you run crazy telling people how terrible it is.

By all means continue venting your frustrations in the appropriate threads, I'm not saying that EVGA shouldn't be held accountable if their products don't work as advertised, however this product isn't even on the market yet, and the only information we have about it is that it's currently a WR holder in numerous benchmarks. Which no matter how you spin it, cannot be seen as a negative.

Again, not saying that this motherboard won't have problems, but am saying give it the benefit of the doubt until it's released...

Yeah this guy seemed to roll off terribly negative to me as well. I am anxious to see if evga has some sort of trade up program, I have an x79 classified I wasnt lucky enough to pay 259.99 for *vomits* sitting in a brand new coolermaster storm stryker case, unfinished because of all the uncertainty.

Re:EVGA X79 Dark 2013/06/03 21:18:44 (permalink)
Except EVGA was given the BotD when we purchased their original X79 series, the issue wasn't that the board had problems. The issue is that the team did not do right by all of the owners whom had problems.

I should remind you that all of EVGA's gear has set world records thanks to cherry picking and Kingpin, but that doesn't really mean much at the end of the day if we the consumer receive the chaff instead of the wheat.

Also if im looking at that board compared to my classy, that board is not as long as the classy is. My classy has two sets of holes at the bottom because its XL-ATX. That board only has 1 set of holes at the bottom because its not as long.

look at the mounting holes on this compared to Kingpins

It's E-ATX and is not XL-ATX, the same size as the X79 FTW, provided the image showing the right board.
