I think those days are over when they didn't agree on things and ek stopped making blocks for EVGA GPUs (unconfirmed info). Maybe things will change someday but I was asking around my contacts and I was going to produce some blocks at least for the VRM that fits on the chokes and fets but unfortunately it's not going to be a worth while investment in time and energy unless there is tons of people that would buy them.
EK makes blocks for most EVGA gpu's, but I don't think they make them for the motherboards.
what I meant is the hydrocopper branded water blocks unless they are the ones making the current blocks that EVGA currently sells?

Indeed. Never saw a monoblock for the EVGA MB. Only for GPU's.

Yes I do know this, I was showing you that EK did make them for EVGA at one time.
Yes, I knew what you were talking about just trying to make a ha ha.....😉

So, how long is everyone thinking it will be until the x299 Dark comes out? I am going to be purchasing everything for a new system any day here and I would really prefer to get the x299 Dark than going mainstream and doing the z270 classified. I understand this whole x299 mess is mainly to blame on Intel, but I am not sure how much longer I want to wait. Any input would be appreciated.

I wouldn't even consider buying x299, but it is your decision. I personally believe that the x299 dark will be released in the same timeframe as the asus x299 apex ... so somewhere mid-end of august.

I'm not sure how cuting top heatsink and making fins instead one peace could help except 5C. I afraid they will advice people to install 40-60mm fan over that. Intel's premium platform, fans on VRM, thermal paste under IHS, next thing is freezing under Prime95. AMD offer solution with Threadripper for 750 and 1000$ but I afraid that fps result in games this time will be more than 10-20 fps lower and memory performance are still not seen, from other side Intel Skylake-X work nice in games. If AMD want to beat Intel they need to beat more expensive processor with cheaper. Because who pay 1000 for CPU usually have and 1200 or little more. That mean AMD 12 cores should beat Intel i9-7900X in any situation to force people to change side, because it's 250$ cheaper and better processor. If results are similar no one will care for 250$ and people will buy Intel i9-7900X. Special if gaming results are better.

If you watch Der8auer updated video the new heat sink has a fan that comes with the board. The fan combined with the new heat sink is a substantial improvement. The board should be out mid August and cost over $700.00.

And there is me, who wants to show off the power of an mATX build while there is plenty of options when it comes to ATX there is only one brand with an mATX motherboard and that's EVGA. Hope the Micro comes out well rounded by the end of August. I'd happily and thoroughly test and review it.

dude, why are you trolling everybody with this missinformation everyday i get update on asus eu stock and my information is legit Asus X299 RAMPAGE APEX is already in stock waiting for the headquaters release order. If you are a good asus customer you can get it for private use with NDA. It is clear you know very little about everything you write so please stop.

We will see how the 12core+ variants will work, the full specs are out but we will have to wait for independent tests I was never a Intel or Amd fanboy, just a neutral techguy, but the launch of x299 was a complete desaster. Threadripper and epyc are looking much more promissing in the moment.

ok thanks for your reply. Is all that based on your personal tests and experience with the product or from reading about it? Oh and its disaster, not desaster ;) regarding game performance, the X299 platform is a replacement for the X99, which, if I recall correctly, was never aimed at the gamer side of things, but more for those who needed more than 4 cores for content, rendering, etc. The X299 isn't replacing the 270. The 270 replacement is going to come about when coffeelake is announced, and I base this on that tweet from asrock I think it was, that stated coffeelake isn't pin compatible with lga 1151, so I bet that will bring about perhaps the 370 chipset sometime next year..for the hardcore gamer side. this is all just my opinion, so take it as such.

But EVGA has not Yet launched, so think about why and as far as Intel EVGA has no Control on the Chipset Nor the CPUs. To me this Shows that EVGA is going to do it Right unlike other Motherboard Manufactures that have as you say released in Beta. AMD Ryzenâ„¢ Threadripperâ„¢ Processor have not yet been Proven as worthy Processor in the Hands of Real End Users.

EVGA did the right thing with the "delay", you are right. Maybe EVGA won't have that many UEFI bugs, maybe they won't have any kind of temperature problems with vrm heatsinks at all ... but that won't change the rushed launch of intel. You are also right with "that nobody knows the performance of threadripper", but the launch of threadripper looks more promissing at the moment. We will see in two days what amd can deliver.

my apologies. Let me say that your English is 100% better than my Austrian. Sorry for the spell check on you. I do thank you for your info and insight. I am at that crossroad right now, where I am researching new hardware, and unsure if I want to go with a mixed use platform such as either a system based on AM4 or a full threadripper cpu, or go with the tried and true I7-7700k, 270 platform. The X299 isn't high on the list, but I cannot ignore it for what it is. Lastly, I am vacillating between going with the solid 270 platform that has had a year's worth of bios tweaking and bug fixes, or just continue to use my I5-3570k Z77 platform a while longer until whatever coffeelake will turn out to be and of course, need for a motherboard/chipset. I have to say, my Asus Z77 Pro V with an overclocked I5-3570k coupled with 16gb of ram and a FTW 970 is still working for me even after 4 years. first world problems ;)

True and I cringe when I see "Rev 1" listed on a couple motherboards from another manufacturer. First to market is usually not a good thing. Kudos to Evga for taking their time. I much prefer to buy Rev 2 or higher when it comes to something new :) let the early adopters be the beta testers, I just want solid hardware and a frustration free experience with most things.

I really love to beta test and love the challenges that come with it. I have a de-lided 7900X that runs at 4.9GHz stable, would love to find out if EVGA dark can run it at 5.0GHz. I hope EVGA reads this and sends me an engineering sample motherboard with NDA off course...

I wish they would give us a release date and a price. This is the only thing I am waiting for to build my new rig. I want the X299 FTW K. I won't settle for anything less, and certainly any other board manufacturer. EVGA has always been good to me. In fact, when my old HTPC rig ASUS P6T X58 board died on me recently, I found an EVGA X58 SLI board and snapped it up. Just waiting for it to arrive now so I can start tearing down my HTPC and rebuild it. XD It will, at least for the time being, distract me for a bit while I have to wait for the X299 FTW K to be released. I wanna build my new rig now! Hehehe.

Uhggg... I couldn't wait on the EVGA any longer to build my new X299 system. I bought the MSI XPOWER flagship and it's one awesome fracking board! It's marketed as a gaming board, but also beefy enough as a workstation (which is what I'm using it for). Loaded Windows 10 Pro on a Samsung 960 Pro M.2 1TB and the whole system screams. Yeah, I'm super happy with it. :)

I understand the feels, but I am trying to be very patient with this one. This is my first all new build since 2009, and I want every part to be perfect. This is what I have lined up right now for my X299 Build: EVGA Powerlink Connector [Bought] Silverstone Case Fan Hub(Because $70 for Corsair's Commander Pro is just too much.) Rosewill SATA Cables [Bought] Corsair Air Series SP120 Case Fans [Bought] Corsair H100i CPU Cooler [Bought] Samsung 500GB 960 Evo SSD PCIe Corsair 750D Case [Bought] Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB(8x4GB) 3600MHz RAM [Bought] EVGA X299 FTW K Motherboard Intel Core i7 7800X CPU(-OR- the 7820X. I am still trying to decide.) EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 Hybrid Video Card Corsair HX 750i Power Supply We'll see how things go over the next few months. Until then, I still have this computer, and my HTPC to play with.

Averant I understand the feels, but I am trying to be very patient with this one. This is my first all new build since 2009, and I want every part to be perfect. This is what I have lined up right now for my X299 Build:

I also have a 750D Corsair case in an older computer, but for my new X299 build I bought the Graphite Series 760T. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/graphite-series-760t-full-tower-windowed-case It's the same layout and design on the inside as the 750D, but the hinged doors, front IO panel, and front screen are of much better quality and design. The only sticking point is that the black case comes with red IO LED lights. I have a blue and black theme, so I need to order the white LED version of the IO panel from Corsair's accessories department. Now that I have the 760T... I wish I had not previously bought the 750D case. The doors on the 760T are better framed, more solid, and have nice latches compared to the flimsy doors on the 750D. It really annoys me the doors on the 750D will fall off unless you put in a thumb screw in the back. The front facing filter screen on the 750D is cheap and poorly designed. Also the top filter screen and magnets on the 750D fell apart about the third time I lifted it off to clean it. Yep, going forward I'll never buy a 750D again when the 760T is the same price and is better quality overall. One more item you might want to consider is an external fan controller. I've been using the Lamptron FC5 V3 fan controller and love it! It's perfect for being able to quickly and easily change fan speeds and monitor thermals at every fan point. You also have 16 display colors to select from. It's the best fan controller I've ever used. http://www.lamptron.com/product/controllers/fc5-v3/

vfxcorp Uhggg... Don't buy i7-7800X. Better is 8th Generation Coffee Lake if you want only 6 cores. i7-7820X is minium for X299. You can ignore 28 PCI-E lanes if you use single GPU and could use PCH Gen 3 PCI-E lanes. Only bad taste will stay because thermal paste. But than you can OC i7-7820X and you will have very nice single threaded perfofmance, not as Coffee Lake but better than AMD and previous Intel generations. Because 8 cores multithreaded performance will be nice as well. i7-7820X is nice CPU and minimum for X299. Yes and you will have Quad Channel DDR4 as Threadripper. i7-7800X is wasting money. 6 cores was great during Sandy Bridge-E, Ivy Bridge-E, Haswell-E and Broadwell-E, but than AMD show up and beat 6 cores with Ryzen 5, don't even to talk about Ryzen 7. And I will try soon to change from 6-8 cores, maybe on my X99 platform if some models show up cheaper i7-5960X, i7-6900K. Overclocked they are faster than Ryzen 7 1800X. Because I can't afford and CPU and motherboard for X299. One of them I can, because for me price of CPU and motherboard is almost same. CPU is 100$ more, maybe 150-180$ Max.

Anyone know a rough release date for this? just bought a stinger board but would rather go x299 if its not still 6mo out. Saw they put the x99 boards on sale so maybe soon?
