I would be satisfied with the FTW had they place a PCIe 3.0 x16 on the first slot. Oh well back to waiting for the Dark.

That's probably my fault. I'll get that up on the site this morning. Edit: Seems to be working fine for me: https://www.evga.com/products/pdf/142-SX-E297.pdf

Unfortunately, this is the boat I am in as well. Love EVGA, but I'm not able to wait indefinitely for the dark. I hope that those who do are rewarded for it, but with no hint of a release date (on a board that they were showing to techtubers at the end of May), I need to move on my next build without EVGA's Motherboard. Again, love EVGA , but I've got some salt on this one .

Indeed..and that (the x99 classified) is an 8 layer stack up. If the Dark is truly 12 layer - that is extraordinary. You generally only find 12 layer pcb in very critical industrial control systems and often then exposed to harsh environment (oil terminals, nasa launch facilities)... and all defense control systems of course 12 layer is a *very* heavy duty stack generally with massive grounding layout. It is generally spec’d as: “THOU SHALT NOT FAIL”

EVGA X299 Dark is probably server quality. And should be, because it's not everything in overclocking, life time of platform is very important. Special now when X299 could serve people for same purpose almost as SR-2 mobo and could be used for many strong processors.

Ok, so is it just me or there hasn't been any changes on the FTW K? it's the exact same board as announced 5 months ago. Why did it take so long to be released? I really hope that waiting for the dark won't be in vain and we see some improvements on the specs. Ah... who am i kidding? I'll just wait for the Asus Rampage VI Extreme supply to normalize (and that INCREDIBLE MAGICAL SHADOW THING they're pulling sending out RMA'ed cards ends), if by then the dark is released, great! i'll compare both and make my mind, if not, i'll sadly buy an Asus board. (TOS Violation - Language removed by Cool GTX)Edit: don't you worry Cool GTX, i've fixed it so it can be readen by all audiences.

Nice. I need to stay with X99, maybe to upgrade only CPU on i7-6900K. I know price would be similar as i7-7820X but at least I could save money on motherboard. GPU is priority.

If you are anywhere near a Fry's Electronics. They have the i7 6900K on sale this week only through Saturday for $799.99. Go to www.frys.com and check the ad in the upper right hand corner. It is on the Weekly ad page. I just figured that If I were to go that route...this cost about the same for me. I needed a new case and CPU cooler either way...

Gotta upgrade that RAM. Skylake-X needs faster memory due to new mesh topology.

I was going to order FTW-K but after playing with Micro I will wait for some proper reviews.
EVGA as usually delivered on temps and more exciting things like easy OC and general experience but failed horribly on basic stuff
I worry that FTW-K will have he same issues and it makes me wait before ordering new mobo from EVGA
I think that the delay with releasing FTW-K and Dark are the result of removing issues from Micro experience - and Micro, its not market ready... and i doubt thats the issue only with my mobo
