well I am only giving them till the day I can order my i9 7980xe . if it not out by thin I will order a asrock x299 OC com's w/full 4/way sli support like the dark does and is out now it also will let me use 2 m2 as os in raid 0 . I think if I do that I will also go for a corsair 1500 ps . had planed on getting a evga 1600t to go with the dark. plans for this build was to redo wowhunter1 . case is going to be LD PC-V10 Phase Change - Black Red, the evga x299 dark , i9 7980xe, 2 SAMSUNG 960 PRO M.2 512GB NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V6P512BW in raid 0, G.SKILL TridentZ Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4133 (PC4 33000) Intel X299 Platform Desktop Memory Model, evga 1600t ps. thin take my 4 titian x (pascals) back out of wowhunter2and put them is this build. I will put my 4 titian blacks back in wowhunter2. but with that all said only leave a few water cooling parts for titias and mb. but I guess I can change out the mb and power supply . if there not out at least buy the time inter open up market on 18cores . I think it will rock , it will be my first time at sub zero cooling.

I asked EVGA about the Dark a couple of weeks ago and the status for availability was unknown at that time. I can only assume Jacob will post info when it becomes available on his twitter account.

Intel required manufacturers to release an x299 mobo. Apparently on a rushed schedule. Maybe EVGA felt the schedule was unrealistic and fulfilled their obligations by releasing a niche micro x299. I assume this also provides some in the wild testing of their hardware.
Quite frankly, if this is the case, they get a lot of respect from me. They are looking out for their reputation as a solid developer, and out for the interests of the consumer to have reliable hardware.
Anyone else have this same impression/suspicion? People who have followed the development more closely?

No, my impression is simply that EVGA is a smaller company, and their motherboard team is very small compared to those at ASUS, Gigabyte, etc. As such, 3 major platform launches (Z270, X299, Z370) in something like 9 months from Intel has probably just swamped the EVGA engineers. Especially given that at least X299 was most likely rushed at least a couple of months by Intel.

I just bought the last x99 classified (in stock) from newegg. Was on a z270 platform since they came out ~9 months or so and had a real need to upgrade ram both quantity and bandwidth (2 to 4 channels). After research it did not seem as though x299 offered any real world advantages (unless you planned on buying a $2k cpu).
So, there you go...

ok clock is running now. wife just call , ups just delivered my new i9-7980xe cpu . can't wate till work is over to see it . so not sure how long I will be able to wate before I just go and get the asrock x299 oc . I take a pic and post it .

So sent a message to EVGA asking about their "DIY Configurator", as both my wife and mine computer s were smashed by the moving company. I'm talking caselabs case is actually bent and petg tubing snapped. Anyways asked about x299 ftw and DG7 and was u that they would both be out in a few weeks. I think they are trying to release them next to each other. Thought someone would like to know, I hope I can snag 1 or 2 to rebuild my wife and mine computers.

I do like benchmarking and I love overclocking but I also like to make my rig do the thing I say they do 24-7. and have sofar. lol I fix car's . and last build took over a year to do , just me if I going to do it why not do it . and I game and do cads in 8k res all in 4/way just like we all did with kep and max. I doing it with tyhe pascal and it's not hard at all once you set it up ,I'm working them at 8k res and thats 80 to 85% on all 4 cards don't even overclock cards because they bottleneck cpu . but i'm sure 18 cores over 8 will fix's this. The few I know that are doing this are using 2 cpu's to handle 4 pascals with out bottlenecking. but still this is all about the new board and when do we get to play with it and see what we can make the do ? smiles O I might not be able to play with the really big dogs in the game but I'm not still in dippers either. it's all in fun and if you are happy with your's i'm happy with mine.
