Posting here just to say that I love EVGA, and that they will be sorely missed in the GPU space. However, what Nvidia has done over the past few years has made me go the AMD GPU route with the 6900xt and I'm so happy I did. RDNA2 is so near feature parity with Nvidia it's nuts and I honestly haven't had a "oh crap, I wish it was an Nvidia card" moment at all. This thing is insane and completely unlocked. I can OC it, raise the power limit without any hardware mods, flash the bios with my own settings, etc.

I wish this GPU was made by EVGA but I refuse to support Nvidia any longer.

EVGA. Please make AMD cards a reality!

First XFX, then BFG, there was certainly forewarning of this. I just didn't think NVIDIA would be that stupid. I don't like EVGA's choice, but I certainly understand it.

There's no alternatives to EVGA in the green market. Next closest vendor seems to be Zotac who offers a 3+2 year warranty to North American buyers, as long as they are the original direct purchaser and register promptly. Everyone else seems to be 2-3 years at best. I've heard nothing but bad things about ASUS, GB, and Zotac RMA support, so yeah... if someone offers a great warranty coverage with an Arc or Radeon it's going to be on my shortlist regardless of the performance disparity. Being best in performance means squat when NVIDIA sells a $1,500 (or higher) product with a paltry 2-3 year warranty.

Nvidia doesn't care for its pc gaming division or for us pc gamers.

NVIDIA has other much much profitable businesses besides pc gaming gpu chips
they lead in AI business segment ( US military contracts as well) , they have automotive gpus and mobile segment as well...etc..

nvidia will survive easily for the time being..... however EVGA will not.

i think Andrew Han should calm down.. take a deep breath and join forces with INTEL (new in the gfx business)
OR at least leave the company to his trusty employees that are awesome at what they do!

either way its a loss for the pc gaming community!

From what I got from the video is the owner is in his 60s and wants to retire/spend more time with his family.
And not bother with the headache of dealing with Nvidia if the margins are too small.

He doesn't want to sell to investors. Too bad he can't/wont turn it over to the employee's and make them the owners through so kind of buy in. But I understand wanting to retire and winding things down to do it.

"Wants to spend more time with the family" and " Doesn't want to sell to investors" is a big hint at the future.

This feels short sighted. I cannot wait to get some clarity from EVGA...whenever that might be....

No kidding, Nvidia's crime must be incredibly severe to end 20+ years of incredible cooperation and alienate a highly devoted userbase. Hopefully they give us fans a bit more information. Many thanks for your work with the queue btw, was a bright spot in my day to check the status and read your fantastic camel puns. Cheers everyone and here's to seeing a EVGA comeback in the future!

Thanks for the kind words; I really appreciate them.

Hopefully, EVGA finds their way to a good outcome that sustains this community.

I think by EVGA choosing to not make AMD/Intel gpus is yet another W for Nvidia. EVGA not making their cards anymore is still a W for them. They have more chips for founders/other AIB's. The only losers are the EVGA fans here. I get the point and the bullies nvidia are but honestly what do you do in a bad break up? Roll over and play dead? Lisa be looking mighty fine with them AMD 7000 cards. You have the following to actually hurt Nvidias sales with dropping AMD cards. Its W for the fans and a W for EVGA and an L for Nvidia. Hearing all that is like ef you leather jacket man.

My Setup
-ASUS PG259QN, XG248Q
-Lian Li 011 Dynamic

-10900K 5.2GHZ

And that is how the cookie crumbles 🙃

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

I think this is a bold move, Nvidia is not the king anymore. AMD is now a major competitor. Id gladly upgrade to an AMD/ATi gpu from EVGA. Id love to spend my money upgrading from Intel/Nvidia to an all amd build using only EVGA parts. If they dont end up going AMD for GPUs ill just stay with my 3080ti for along time. EVGA is my brand. Love you guys and keep your heads up.

For those who don't understand why this happened here is a graph, plus Nvidia lowered their 3090ti to 1099$ and said nothing to the AiB's about it. That's a **** move

We all know why this happened in a macro sense. Just sucks that the market is loosing its best brand (at least in NA)

I would have done the same. GPUs 78% sales 10 percent profit. Sell power supplies motherboards and cases where the profit is.

I ran my business at 88% profit for 30 years before retiring. Good income low effort.

Man woke up this morning and at first thought I had a nightmare that EVGA was out of the VGA business. Then suddenly I remembered ain't no dream. Ugh.

I may well stick with them for their Dark motherboards and Titanium Power Supplies, will see. I hope at maybe some point they rectify the situation with Nvidia, but I know that is wasted hope likely.

What in the actual firetruck? Where am I going to find video cards with actual customer service now?  I've been exclusive to EVGA with video cards for almost a decade and a half. This is a disaster for the PC industry. GAH!

Very, very bad news for me as a true EVGA enthusiast.
EVGA is/was one of the rare brands/producers that have/had a strictly distribution and kept prices stable- this is extremly fair and customer oriented!
I am really sad as for me the brand and its products always are innovative and something very special compare to the rest of offers in the pc consumer market.

Yes they certainly could learn a lot on that from the way EVGA does business, sadly they won't though.

While the news was certainly a shock to hear I think people should let the dust settle first. If EVGA decides to work with other partners like Intel/AMD its not going to be just blurted out, those are efforts that can take months to negotiate and perhaps things may be in the works that are just not going to be public yet despite his statements. Who knows!.  I think from what we've been able to learn based on public statements and videos from folks like J2C that Nvidia is screwing over their AIB partners and the trend of founders editions is only going to continue.  What kind of partnership can exist where the primary party can just lower their prices at a whim effectively resulting in the other party settling at a loss with zero warning or consideration?  At the end of the day a CEO's job is to make the best decisions from a fiduciary responsibility for their company so I cannot imagine this was simply a decision based on a bruised ego.   If the margins on GPUs were already razer thin and your partner is literally competing against you selling them directly for less, how is that remotely a sustainable business model when the other party controls all the levers and can basically screw you over on a whim.

Just look at the Best Buy website and compare founders edition cards prices with everyone else’s. It’s easy to see the future. Evga is just first victim to Apple model Nvidia is (in process of) implementing. There will be no partners cards in couple of years.

This has been going on with Nvidia for years, it's not something new.  In fact it's pretty common in the retail space for a manufacturer to drop price on their product to be competitive and the retailer has to deal with it. Think about TV's and how fast they drop in price. If EVGA is sitting on a pile of unsold cards or cards they had to sell cheap, well the signs were there that they were not selling as quickly as before and crypto mining was coming to an end. Also prices were just stupid to begin with and they knew it and continued to sell at those crazy prices. I currently have 3 evga cards (3080 ti ftw3, 3080, 3060 ti) and 3 of their power supplies.  Owned many EVGA GPU's and would like to continue to do so but it sounds like the CEO just does not want to deal with the business anymore.  Would be nice to see him work some kind of deal out with employees to purchase or run the company for him if that were possible.  From the way they make it seem he would rather his company go away than have someone else control it.  Hope that is not the case. But as others have mentioned Nvidia may be trying to go the Apple route and sell mostly just their gpu's which would be the end of most board partners dealings anyway. Maybe EVGA just sees the writing on the wall, who knows. I wish the CEO well though.

Just look at the Best Buy website and compare founders edition cards prices with everyone else’s. It’s easy to see the future. Evga is just first victim to Apple model Nvidia is (in process of) implementing. There will be no partners cards in couple of years.

^ A scary, yet possible, future as it would stifle innovation.  I absolutely despise Apple and its paternalistic, controll-all approach to technology.  AIBs in some respects represent freedom and innovation.  Without AIBs would Nvidia have ever bothered to improve the crappy cooling solutions on their FE cards?  Doubt it.  For example, I recall when the 1080 Ti came out, to a person, every reviewer said to skip the FE and wait for AIB cards to emerge as it would be a free +5% performance with better cooling ... and they were right.

The business move here also seems really really strange if you're not selling anything off.  The scale and size of your company will take a big hit ... 80% of revenue, even at small margins, pays for a large % of employees I am sure.  The CEO said he wasn't going to sell ... why?  I'm sure EVGA is sitting huge intellectual property with its cooling solutions for GPUs ...  if you wanted to get out of the GPU business and not sell your company completely, you should definitely shop your cooling IP around to other vendors.
