Scratch that lol, I like the idea of dual loops, one for gpu and one for cpu and vrm
I wonder if I could mount both res/pump units vertical on side infront of the one 360mm rad 🤔
Like top res for cpu/vrm and bottom for gpu and twin rads

J1mB0bF3ttMy 1080Ti hydro copper gave out in August and I signed up September 24th for any/all 3080's... still no card. I really don't want to but if i have to take a step down for AMD, i will. I get that several reasons for shortages happened all at once, but considering how this isn't the first time it's happened, you would think they would have been better prepared and would at least be more involved with the community in the meantime. It sounds like a lot of people are having issues with the cards they ARE getting, too, which doesn't help the lack of faith around the forums. As their price guarantee date is right on us, you think they would say SOMETHING in regards to those who have been on the list since last year, or an update about the situation.

also that case is highly rated by Gamersnexus even without using liquid cooling, so I think issue would be in gpu/cooler itself, not the case
Computer store did testing on their open bench again and while they replicated the very hot memory junction temperature, the core temperature was well within 50-60c range. I'm contemplating on installing vertical GPU mount and six more SL120s in the case since my current set up isn't fantastic fan wise with two radiators in the system. Three options they think can be tried is vertical mount to give air on both sides of the card, cooling the backplate mems, different thermal padding or just wait for a waterblock for the model to cover both GPU and MEMS. Edit: The card and hydro weren't sent off to EVGA, not yet anyway.

Optimus makes blocks for it iirc, but they are expensive and takes a few weeks to make after you order it
This is for custom open loop cooling btw

Interesting. So they are agreeing that the "hot spot" vs. "gpu temp" delta on you card is excessively high, to the point of it causing throttling? So like +50C vs. a typical +15C? https://www.techpowerup.com/278606/nvidia-gpus-have-hotspot-temperature-sensors-like-amd# Lots of people in that comments section saying that proper TIM application and spread is important for keeping the hotspot temp down. You could also conceivably just have a glitchy temp sensor in the die that always reads hot. What is the Hotspot temp when at low frequency idle?

Nah, you're OK. Better rad airflow and cool air across the backplate will help.

100ºC TJ is normal when mining. 100ºC mem temps are high IMO. I've never had mem temps that high.

Hey all, been deployed for a bit, so missed some stuff ... but did i see something today regarding a kingpin hydro copper coming later this week? I have a Kingpin hybrid atm i got lucky with during last launch, but i want to do a custom loop and there is no block for this, and its throwing things off ha ... Also, i know i might be nuts, but if i got a 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid, that is the reference PCB and i could put an aftermarket block on that right? like an EK block?

what's a good flow rate sensor to use for my to be custom dual loops? I have only one header on my mobo which I can use for my cpu loop, but will prob have to use a usb one for gpu side
what do you all use?

Big update: I don't know what the computer shop did but my temperatures are now hovering at 55c and 21-25c idle. Junction is at 102c gaming and highest hot spot was 71c. Mem temps were in mid-high 70s. They only changed the thermal paste to a better quality and dropped by 3c AFAIK. I put up two Thermaltake Toughfan 12 on the radiator with the hybrid ones on the other side to do a push/pull and have the case set up as CPU radiator exhausting top and GPU exhausting side with SL120s intaking at bottom.  Edit: Furmark now shows junctions now at 110c MEM1/2 and GPU 2 were reaching high 80s with all fans maxed out leaving core at 48c. On idle MEM/GPU2 run in their 40s. Gaming so far MEM appears to hit high 70s and junction slowly builds to 100c after being in the 90s after awhile. Should I really go for a vertical mount if it can help cool down the MEM and GPU2 temps? (LL 011D case) Lastly I'm having trouble where the memory fan is ignoring manual set speeds on ICX, it'll stick to the manual speed but eventually control itself regardless if 'auto' is off. (Fixed after bios update)

For reference, since folks are talking about high memory temps, I get ~100-104C if I mine etherium with the memory set to +1500.
I don't think any benchmarks push the memory has hard as daggerhashimoto, so if you're getting similar temps, I agree that's a bad sign.
I will say, though, that I mounted my GPU rad entirely outside my case to let it breathe easier. I've also added thermal pads between the PCB and backplate, but I don't think they do much since I haven't added heatsinks/fins yet.
