Can someone point me to a video or website that explains which dipswitch does what on the back of the KPE HC.  I can't seem to get past +100 Clk, +800 Mem, and I can't use the Classified tool as it does not work for KPE HC.    Thanks.

For future reference for others, the link to a video explaining the dip switches is located here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KV6OB5wxtNw

Credit goes to Sajin for providing the link.

Unfortunately the switches made no difference for me.  Still stuck at +100 Clk, +800 Mem, and it's not stable, so can't even really claim those clocks.  Apparently I did poorlyu in the silicon lottery as usual, even paying the premium to assure the best in class GPU.  Not sure how so many others seem to be getting better clocks.  Luck of the draw I suppose.

Hopefully the dip switches will be of benefit to others though.  If someone does have luck, would appreciate you reporting back.

A few of us that have recently received KPE hybrids have basically had those exact same clocks.  I've noticed clock throttling around 440-450w and it claiming power limits despite being on LN2 bios.  Others have complained that the rebar bios gave them difficulties.  Hopefully it's just some bios issue.

Supposedly there is a new Classified tool but for whatever reason EVGA wants to keep it locked down in secret and you have to get on your knees and beg for it and swear on the life of your first-born son to not leak it.

Enabling both NVVDD/MSVDD dipswitches let the card pulls 520W. My theory is that the NVVDD/MSVDD table configured in the 520W BIOS is the same as the 480W BIOS (OC mode). 1000W BIOS doesn't have this issue. Unfortunately, dipswitches don't improve clocks, they only improve power draw and internal clocks. Requested clocks and memory OC are determined by silicon quality and temperature.

Any experience with the fans of the Hybrid K|NGP|N - has someone changed the fans because they were too loud e.g. with Noctua fans?

I believe there's quite a few of us, if not most of us. I have Noctua NF-A12x25's on mine but I never even ran the card with the stock fans attached so can't give a before/after.

Thanks for your feedback. Is the KINPGIN quiet with the Noctua NF-A12x25 fans resp. much quieter than other 3090 on Air?

I am curious, for other KPE owners, what are you getting for your 24/7 stable game worthy settings, and what temps are you hitting at these settings?

For me, I can't seem to go over stock, so stable max I am getting on L2 BIOS is +0 Clk (Card boosts to 2010 at these settings), +0 Mem, Power draw is around 480w, and Temps seem to hover in the 52-55C range.

Curious what others are achieving 24/7 stable.

Honestly I don't even really care much about OC's for gaming, it yields very little in terms of FPS gains. I've been running +90/+750 because those are just the first numbers I picked around when I first got the GPU. Outside of benchmarking I haven't paid any attention to overclocking. Temps depend on power draw, average is probably around 46c but peaks at 50c when wattage is hitting 500-550 (happens pretty often gaming @ 4K/120hz). Worth noting I have push/pull Noctua's and re-pasted GPU with Kryonaut still on the AIO CLC.

Finding a stable undervolt seems to be the way to go for daily driver gaming on the 3000-series. I have not bothered with undervolting yet myself, will get around to it one day.

Depends what speed you run the fans at but generally speaking it can be much much quieter or about the same depending on fan speed. It's the cooling performance:noise ratio that improves most, rather than just noise so to speak. For instance, no fan running at 2000rpm is going to be "quiet".

KPE installed , first run at default was 13995 PR
basic overclock 14667 STILL default bios
flipped the LN switch +135core -1100mem = 15385 ,
is there an explainer before I try the classified tool ?

Try to go higher on memory you can probably improve that stock-voltage score even more. Are you on Intel or AMD platform?

As for Classified tool stay at or below 1.2 NVVDD, 1.41 FBVDD, 1.1750 MSVDD and you should be perfectly safe to experiment to your hearts content with voltage points within that range to find the sweet spot. Start low and slowly move upward as required.

Based on what I know and my own experience if you have a good card you should be able to get great scores well below 1.2 NVVDD and if you have a weaker card you'll probably require 1.16875+ volts just for decent scores. Depends on silicon lottery.

It's an i9 9900k, had 32 GB and threw another 32 Gb of 3200 and scores went down along with my OC profile. Pulled that back out and went to 14015 Default and 15185 OC. Thanks that's a good place for me to start.

I put the Artic P12 on the Radiator and the are very quiet but I think they are limited by the 1800 rpm. at max . So I closed all the dip switches. Do they need to be on or off ? I feel the card reaction are harder with the switches in the on position. What is it you run?

What sort of fans are on the radiator if you don't mind me asking? I was planning on running them 24/7 (not for mining or anything, just that they're kind of also acting as case fans) as with them and an H115i in a 4000D I don't really have any other airflow...are they decent? If not I may swap them out but the only Noctuas I have are a single one of the gray ones (the cheaper ones) and 2 industrial 3000 RPM's which I don't think would pair well lol. I also have 3 Corsair ML-120's I could throw in there. I know you guys were talking about having an undervolting profile and I did that a bit for daily driving but I think I have some more room so anyone else with info on that would be helpful. Also, are any of the tools (EVBot, Classified, whatever) worth it if I'm mostly using the card for gaming? Thanks!

Edit: Good lord it's been a while since I've been here, my signature was old lol...updated with current info.

Any idea who to email at EVGA to ask for it?

You can also get the XOC Vbios 1000 w with Rebar from him  also. With XOC. My card pulls  just under 700 watts with it .

Kingpin memory with Xoc rebar vbios overclocks better. Without rebar 520 w vbios 1200 + in Port Royal ,  1400 + with Xoc 1000 w Rebar Vbios and not using classified tool ! Should go higher using it, but will wait for cooler weather . PC in Garage and no AC.

You're saying OXC 1000W ReBAR lets you overclock memory an extra +200 compare to previous BIOS? That's interesting. Is it repeatable? Like can you bench now +1400 for a few runs?

Thanks

I RMA a Kingpin and told them right up front it had the Xoc 1000 w Vbios on it, they said thats not a problem put AIO back on and they sent another. They said what they would not RMA was a card with damage ! [Should be noted that this will void your warranty]. I did not think they would RMA a card with the XOC vbios, but they did.

Yes Its repeatable and when winter comes and I can drop ambient way down ,I look for memory and core both to go way up.

That's cool congratulations but it's still explicitly stated by EVGA that you are voiding your warranty so I feel like if people are going to recommend Classified Tool/XOC bios the least they could do is include this fact in the recommendation so people have all the information to properly weigh the risk.

They did not help for me.  The do increase the voltages, but by small amounts.  I would try one switch on for each for NVVDD and MSVDD, test, get the best stable overclock for GPU, and then do the next switch on each and repeat to your next stable overclock.  If temps are good then I personally would be ok using them 24/7 since the tweaks to voltage are rather minor.  But again, for me, they did not help.  I unfortunately have a very poor piece of silicon.  Honestly not sure how it made the cut as a KPE.

I turned them all on and lost about 120 points in PR. My opening day just threw a basic OC and posted a 15385. I am now struggling to get a 15105 +

Hi everyone,

Just discovered this community. I received a brand new 3090 K|NGP|N Hybrid yesterday and wow what a beauty!   I'm having an issue where it's not being detected by BIOS or W10 Device Manager.  The OLED and LED turns on, the fans spin, the OLED says
  • 0.798V NVVDD
  • 27.5C
  • 788 RPM
I've performed the troubleshooting steps listed below.  All the jumpers on the back of the card are set to OFF.  I'm running 3 separate 8-pin VGA power cables to the card.  I'm currently booted into the PC with a 3070 installed as a 2nd GPU and my display is connected to it.  The K|NGP|N is not detected under any circumstance, but it's plugged into the first PCIe slot.

I'm willing to try anything else you may suggest.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

PC specs:
  • ASRock B550M/ac (latest BIOS update)
  • Ryzen 9 5950X
  • 8GB x 2 DDR4
  • WD 1TB m.2 NVMe
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2
  • W10 21H1 all updates installed
  • NVIDIA 471.11 Game Ready Driver
Troubleshooting steps:
  • swapped HDMI Ultra High Speed cables with known good working cables
  • swapped DP cables with known good working cables
  • swapped monitors (MSI Optix MAG272C, VIZIO E70E3 4K HDR LED, RCA 4K HDR Cheap-o TV, LG 48CX OLED)
  • swapped GPUs (3080 Gaming X Trio, 3070 FE, 3080 FTW3, 3060 Ti FE)
  • swapped PSUs for other known good working EVGA 1300 G2 (I have 9 of these)
  • swapped VGA cables from other EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 PSUs
  • clear CMOS settings
  • tried a different PC at friend's house (MSI X570 Unify, Ryzen 9 3950X)
  • booted from a FreeDOS USB stick to attempt NVFlash (affected GPU not listed)
  • attempted NVFlash in W10 (affected GPU not listed)
  • installing/removing 2nd GPU (VGA error on friend's PC when 2nd GPU was removed, no errors on my PC with or without 2nd GPU installed)
  • DDU & reinstall current and previous NVIDIA Game Ready & Studio drivers
  • prayer
  • sad face
  • despair
Edit - i also tried:
  • booting without a display cable plugged in, then plugging cable in after 30 seconds
  • moving the Kingpin to difference PCIe slots

Welp out of curiosity I partially disassembled the card and found this damage near the 8-pin power connectors.
