teachdj I found the bios flash for my video card on your forums last night and matched model number to the appropriate download. I ran the update and my card was flashed from the original BIOS that was on it when I got it last summer to this latest BIOS. I verified this via GPUz and Nvidia control panel. I've never had a problem with this card except with occasional crashes to desktop when using any driver other than 306.97. Even the latest 314.07 that's on Nvidia now caused a driver not responding in Planetside 2 last week with the original BIOS. So, I flashed it last night and started using 310.70. However, for the first time ever, and while just surfing the web with IE, the screen just went dark but the monitor stayed on/awake. The computer was still running and hadn't rebooted. I waited several minutes and nothing. I reset the PC and it booted back to windows. I used system restore to revert to driver 306.97 but think I made a mistake flashing it. Anyone have any similar experiences or ideas? Can someone point me to the old BIOS so I can flash it back to that? Would that help me? Should I use a different driver? My original BIOS was 80.04.19.00.70 P2004-0005. My video card is 02G-P4-2678-KR and was obtained in June 2012. System restore and rolling back is never recommended to go back to a previous driver. Installing over the top, while not the best solution, is probably better than that. Newest driver 314.22 WHQL http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/59641

Thanks a lot I could grab it.
However, when I try to update my 670 SC 4GB, it keeps saying that:
"No display adapters were found that are compatible with this update."
I wonder if this has anything to do with nvidia optimus, because I'm running this card as an external GPU for my laptop and optimus is engaged (for better performances and internal screen renndering.)

It has to be the same part number to flash. Please post your part number (not the serial number) to confirm it is correct. For running as an external GPU, the flash is intended to be used with the card in a desktop system so we could not guarantee the flash will see it correctly via an external adapter.

Thanks for the help, Part number is : 04G-P4-2673-KR I guess my external GPU setup is fine for flashing since I was able to flash my GTX 660 Ti with nvflash 5.118, and I could also save my current GTX 670 bios. [edit] : I've finally succeed, I feel so dumb, I had grabbed the wrong bios... fortunately it couldn't flash it phew ! [edit 2] I hope it could solve the Error code: 7 which say that the "NVIDIA OpenGL diver lost connection with the display driver due to exceeding the Windows Time-Out limit and is unable to continue." This always happens with msi kombustor OpenGL burn-in test, If it is above any other windows it's fine and won't crash but once it's hidden, it crashes display goes black and driver reset. Is this a known issue ?

I am glad to hear it flashed. For the error it could be the card or something else. For card support you can contact our Europe support at +49.89.189.049.0 and e-mail them directly at supportEU@evga.com. For French support you can e-mail supportFR@evga.com

In Germany I believe the EVGA office might be closed as Good Friday is a public holiday there. Easter Monday the office is probably also closed. Just for everyone's info.

Double checked and they are closed and will return on the 2nd. For tech support Europe can still contact US support via support@evga.com however we have limited access to European RMA, orders, etc. We would only be able to provide tech support.

Thank you very much both of you for the help! But now I have good news ! It seems it became stable now :o and I'm not sure updating the bios has anything to do with it since, it crashed once more right after (and almost instantly.) It's been more than 20 minutes I'm running the kombustor OpenGL GPU burn-in bench at stock clock (power target is set to 100% although actual power is 110-117%, weird ?) and it won't crash eventhough I am trying to, by putting other windows above the bench (which would have made it crash almost instantly before..). This is weird because I didn't change anything... It's still the same and latest nvidia driver. I will try to raise power limit to see if it makes a difference.

Use the original bios you saved when you flashed them to the newer ones. But here is hoping you saved your bios.Generally a bad flash and the card wont even post to desktop .What your saying sounds more like a A.Bad driver install (EVGA forums has a nice detailed guide here B. a bad flash ,redo and test again C. Contact Customer support threw the methods that suit you best here ,i suggest Phone over email or tickets as its much faster to troubleshoot ,and RMA if needed .

EVGA_JacobF EVGA GeForce GTX 670 Firmware Update v80.04.4B - Updated 10/16/12 Q. What are the changes in this new firmware? - Updated in 80.04.4B - Updated compatibility
- Improved stability
- Improved compatibility with DELL XPS 8300 systems
Q. Do I need to reapply this update every time I update a driver or reinstall the O.S.? A. This update is attached to the card, no matter where it goes. If you update the driver, the EVGA firmware update is still applied. Q. How can I tell what version I firmware I currently have? A. There are multiple ways to do this, one way is to right click on desktop and go to NVIDIA control panel. Click on Help, then System Information. Scroll to the bottom of the Details window and it will show your "Video BIOS version". It will be listed as EXAMPLE: 80.04.31.00.72. The numbers in bold identify the version number. Q. I just bought my card, will it have this updated firmware? A. Chances are yes, as new firmware is release, new products shipping from EVGA will also have this firmware version applied. Installation - Download the correct .zip file below for your graphics card below.
- Extract the files to a location on disk.
- Make sure no programs are running in the background, and double click update.exe.
- Press "Y", then ENTER to begin the update.
- DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE UPDATE PROCESS!
- After update, restart PC.
Do I need this update on my FTW 2Gb 80.04.19.00.70 card? I haven't had any issues with it an the only game I play on it is Unreal Tournament III, DM/Greed/Duel/etc. Thanks. EDIT: and I usually like turning off my power when updating things. is it ok to do that!?!?! lol :D j/k

If you're having no issue's, then there is no reason to update unless you want to.

5C is newer than 4B. What I don't understand is why the new vBIOS isn't EFI compatible already, make it hybrid so you can run either.

If that's the case, then I'm wondering why version 4b is the latest one showing in the stickies??

That's what I was confused about too. I expected it to be the latest version. Some companies have done odd things when releasing firmware, like my Samsung TV having a new FW but the version number was below what I already had, and Asus releasing a beta driver for my sound card that updates the FW but it is just a bug and the FW is actually identical to what was already on the card. So I just assumed this was new. The only thing I could think of for not posting the latest FW is that there wasn't much of a change and there is always a risk, even if it is very low, of bricking your device.

because this was for the initial release of the cards BACK in 2012 ,of course bios update as production goes on so common sense would tell you if you bought your card right around then ya maybe you need it,if you bought it after chance are no those cards either have the bios update applied or have newer bios.

Bios are not done or given out like mobo bios. They are also not only based on performance ,sometimes its simple gpu parts change (memory brand etc) .EVGA does not offer bios for any GPU's unless a issue is known and needs to be fixed. Furthermore EVGA does not allow Bios to be flashed under warranty UNLESS told to by EVGA support (who notes your account and part told to flash and they send you the bios).

So an EVGA Product Manager posted new BIOS's on the official forum but failed to mention that if you actually use them you will void your warranty? I highly doubt it.
