Understand what exactly? Yes I saw the post date. What am I wrong about? The thread is stickied, and that is done because a thread contains important information that all should read. Do you not think that it is wise to keep a thread like this up to date? I mean it's one of the first you will see when you enter this part of the forums. Yes I flashed my card thinking this was a newer firmware, I have already said that in a previous post. And you still haven't answered my question "So an EVGA Product Manager posted new BIOS's on the official forum but failed to mention that if you actually use them you will void your warranty?" You said you need permission from support to flash a card and it gets registered to your account and part number. So that would mean that everyone who has used the firmware contained here has voided their warranty

Bios are not done or given out like mobo bios. They are also not only based on performance ,sometimes its simple gpu parts change (memory brand etc) .EVGA does not offer bios for any GPU's unless a issue is known and needs to be fixed.
Furthermore EVGA does not allow Bios to be flashed under warranty UNLESS told to by EVGA support (who notes your account and part told to flash and they send you the bios).
No disrespect, but man, I think you're way off the mark on this. This sticky had been updated more than once with new firmware updates for the 670 models. It was posted so us 670 users could update our firmware because of issue's and were not given out on a case by case basis with notes to our accounts etc... Anyone with a 670 could download & flash the update. And I don't believe EVGA (Jacob) would allow that if they weren't covering warranties without some kind of warning since it's their FW update. Just read through the 1st page or 2 of the thread & you'll see this was meant for any 670 user to take advantage of. They once had FW updates stickied for the 500 series for quite awhile, then they pulled the sticky and FW updates became a case by case basis if users were having issue's that a FW update could correct.

Im just fine, had my 9 yr old son read the thread and explain it to me and he understands its purpose and meaning of use,im sorry i cant seem to get this across to others,do as you wish im tired of trying to point out common sense here as it seems it just does not matter to some .

Oh come on. You know very well that a BIOS provided here would be considered as being directly from EVGA. Edit: and the context of that message is from a thread called 'Modified Bios and Warranty' http://forums.evga.com...?m=1699413&mpage=1

yes here, but if a bios update IS NEEDED and EVGA posts it then it is fine, but just wanting newest bios or other (SC SSC FTW) bios is NOT.EVGA doesn't just have updated gpu bios all the time ,that is the point .Also if you read the post the topic is altering your cards bios from the bios that came with it from evga ,and that makes the point even more clear ,unless EVGA GIVES you the bios and tells you to update yours DONT or it is considered modifications .what part is not clear? you are even proving my point now ?

For those who cant seem to grasp the threads meaning, soon after the 670 was released a small issue was found and EVGA posted these bios for people to flash cards effected. This was the only purpose of the thread in late 2012.Most all cards with the older bios were already out shipped to vendors for retail sale.By the time of this post EVGA cards made on this date(of this post) and after all came with newer bios that had already had the issue resolved.Sure a few stray cards may be out on the market that could use the update, but i would dare say 98%+ DO NOT. GPU bios updates are not all ground breaking increases/fixes like mobo's(thats what DRIVERS DO) .generally its to update small changes in the PCB or parts used on the card such as memory. As one person here already found out ,he flashed his card to a older bios.If you dont know what your doing call tech support with your bios number and ask if you should.Unless EVGA GIVES you bios and tells you to do it DONT.End of story .....

You are making statements that ARE NOT specifically written anywhere. "but just wanting newest bios or other (SC SSC FTW) bios is NOT" "fine" Where is this said? "Also if you read the post the topic is altering your cards bios from the bios that came with it from evga" Obviously the topic is about modifying the firmware to do things that the manufacturer didn't intend the cards to do. "unless EVGA GIVES you the bios and tells you to update yours DONT or it is considered modifications" Now we are back to the permissions again, and that means everyone who has used the firmware in this topic has performed a 'modification' on their card. Seriously, you need to step back and look at this objectively, because you are twisting things to suit your view on what you think it should be.

omg i give up your ignorant ,the tech even quoted the warranty terms page....i guess that means nothing? You have proven you dont know step one of warranty terms for EVGA.the facts remain unless EVGA gives you bios and tells you to flash your card your not under warranty terms .Bios flashing without EVGA specific permission to you is not allowed period.i would step back but your i feel bad you cant grasp simple terms of warranty about bios flashing that are clear and precise

Got the 80.04.5C.00.70 BIOS from EVGA support and I have flashed back to it. From support: "Hello, I am sorry because of the trouble to get the right BIOS, this model is special because there do exist different PCB layer and the screenshot did not show the addition of the BIOS number where we can see which layer it is. I have send you the BIOS in a different mail from (email add removed)@evga.com. It is a rom file and need to get flashed with NVFlash. Please let me know if you need help to set this up. Regards," (crappy camera) Not too sure what he meant by that, I guess it might be a revision? Thanks EVGA support!

Finally, had to read few pages of this nonsense about getting shafted about warranty if use vBIOS from here, hope that clear it up. However, is this hybrid (or whatever the term is)? ie: can I use this for my EFI setup, I don't want to be forced back to legacy.

If you've disabled CSM or if you have it enabled and are forcing GPU to use EFI then nope, nothing else (otherwise of course you're in legacy mode).
