Come on guys! What happened? I think EVGA needs new designers this thing looks tacky and much cheaper comparing to previous blocks...
I assumed the color was RGB except maybe the wrap around band. But, if it is really a print, then I agree. The HC's should be classy, not flashy.

I'm pretty sure that's RGB. Makes no sense for them to put that much ridiculousness on the card's "glass" or whatever that material is. If it's actually colored like that, that's just plain stupid.

Based on the looks alone of the 3080 HydroCopper block  , ended up grabbing an EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra, and will wait for the EK block to launch for it (saying 1-2 weeks).

Nothing official reported lately. Just lots of "Keep an eye out next week" stuff. Pointing towards the week of the 16-20th, that is. We should hopefully hear from an official channel then on either pricing, release dates, a queue or something along those lines.

That wider design will rule out some SFF builders like myself. The earlier design looked narrow enough to fit in a NCASE M1 but I think the new one is too wide.

Good point, it may just be a thin plastic protective film that peels off, as is the case with much of their hardware.

For the NVidia Founders Edition, yes. For the EVGA 3080/3090 FTW3 cards, no - the PCB is the same dimension as the triple fan shroud (I installed a 3090 FTW3 Ultra in my rig yesterday, you can see the PCB in the photo below):

THe previous image it looked like the PCB was based on the XC3 which is narrower. Now it looks like its based on the FTW3 PCB. Which does make sense, if you are going to do a water cooled card then the higher performing model is the better candidate, but the previous image had given me hope!

They're doing blocks for both the FTW3 and the XC3 cards, and historically always have. The upper of the 2 images is the XC3, and the lower is the FTW3, so we may or may not see a design "change" as they've pointed out. Could just be different designs for the 2 different cards.

It sure looks like a protective film to me. Looking close at the nearest end the red dots appears to go over the corner of the acrylic. And the purple edge nearest the camera appears to have crinkles in in (the little white lines vertically).

It would've definitely been nice if they made the PCB shorter for the water cooled version, since it looks like the normal cards have a lot of open space because of the cooler design. However I don't think it's very likely that they will modify their PCB just for that. Also they'll be selling the water blocks separately, so they have to fit their normal PCB.
