First time posting so no sure how it looks to mention another company but, did everyone see the new ASUS water cooled 3000 series coming out? They look really good if you prefer something a little cleaner looking.

Extremely unlikely, HydroCoppers & Hybrids to a lesser extent, are usually never in step up selection, because not as many are made as a whole.

Haven't seen them, but the eVGA look on Hybrid cards is usually very clean & simplistic:

I was more so talking about the non Hybrid models that are strictly just the waterblock. Would love to post a couple pics of them but doesn’t seem to be working from my phone.

Oh, you're refering to the ones with the EK-designed waterblocks?  Yeah those are nice.  Personally the thought of having to leak test a GPU block's connections etc... with it on the GPU... scares me too much to actually get a full block GPU. lol  I'll stick to Hybrid cards, where even if they leak it wouldn't catastrophic damage if it wasn't seen relatively quickly.

I once had a liquid loop leak back in the day on a 680i system & eVGA actually replaced the motherboard even though I straight up told them why the video card slot wasn't working anymore (that's one of the places the liquid got in to).  It was interesting that that's one of the only things that actually failed in the entire system, assumably because the liquid getting in to the slot-socket while it was on fried things.  The GPU itself actually worked fine after it dried off & I cleaned the "pin" plates on the interface.  Way back in the Core2 days.

I still have nightmares. lol

Haha wow yea that’s understandable to have nightmares still. I just sold my 1080 FTW Hybrid and I’m looking to add hydro copper or something similar to my custom loop this time around. Really hoping EVGA lets us know when these are going to go up, so I don’t have to F5 everyday starting mid November again.

Well there'll be a queue system like with the other launches, so as long as you catch it "day of" release, you shouldn't have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to get one, since they assumeably are building up a decent amount of stock prior to launch... at least I hope they are cuz otherwise O_o

Are we sure it'll be under the same queue system as current 30x0s? I asked Jacob a few times on Twitter and he's answered the other parts of the question(s) but avoided that part multiple times.

The reason I was curious is because the queue system requires them to have a product page where you can hit the button to join the queue in the first place, right? So is the product page gonna go live 'x' days ahead of time for people to start joining the queue? Or will the page be missing until the second the cards are available?

If it's the latter, will the button immediately say "join the queue"? Or will the first people to reach the page have an "Add to Cart" button since there is no 'queue' to join at that point?

Rhetorical questions of course, I know no one outside of EVGA is gonna know the answers for sure, just wasn't sure if I missed some updates anywhere haha

I have the 1070Ti SC Hybrid and my brother has the 2080 Super FTW3 Ultra Hybrid and we love our cards. I am honored to hand my card down to my best friend as I upgrade to the HC :D.

Ya, the new EK blocks look great on those ASUS GPUs.  Clean design, very nice.
Really hoping the Red Trim and the "mesh" looking stuff on the EVGA HydroCopper is removable. Just doesn't look near as good. If some users want that look, fine, just make it removable for the rest of us that don't.

I can always just get an EVGA card and install an EK block, but was hoping the HydroCopper would take of that for me. Guess I will wait for final production pictures before deciding which direction I go.

This is what I was trying to post, thank you! I am going to try and get either obviously but ASUS is now in the lead for me just based on design. We will see about price and availability though.

The ASUS cards look nice so far but I've not seen proof they are releasing a 3x8-pin variant.

Some updates on the HC models as below. Will continue to update as more info is available:
  • Full cover block with G 1/4 fittings
  • Available in XC3 and FTW3
  • Latest availability update = Mid/late November

Port are still on that wide layout........ only 1 set of MLCC's caps...

Forcing me to go to the Asus water blocked card. EKWB layout is far superior. ASUS uses all MLCC capacitors exclusively
This will be the first time I go ASUS. bums me out. I've been a die hard EVGA user for over 15yrs now.
The lack of MLCC's really shows the decline in quality EVGA put out this time in the 30 series and this block is horrific looking.

I think the issue is finding the right mix of MLCCs and POSCAPs as both have their pros and cons. To quote, MLCCs are smaller, cheaper, and have high current, voltage, and temperature ratings. They also operate better at higher frequencies. But they're prone to cracking and piezo effects and have poor temperature characteristics. The more expensive POSCAPs, meanwhile, have lower voltage ratings and aren't as good at high frequencies, but are not prone to cracking or the piezo effect, and operate better at high temperatures.

..so having only all of one or the other is not necessarily better.

Yah I'm by far no expert on the Capacitor subject but after seeing all these vids and articles about the stability issue with 30 series and my current GPU (EVGA 2080) having all MLCC's this leads me
to believe this method is more superior.
Again I'm no expert. just going by my own experience with current hardware.

So is ASUS actually selling pre-blocked 3090s? I'm trying to avoid having to install it myself this time around if possible.

Asus 3090 water blocks can be ordered at Ekwb and are in stock $169. Only no one can buy an Asus 3090.

And they have build in leak detection. I never had a leak in 10 years water cooling though.

i too am very  much interested in this waterblock solution.
I have been watching EKWB for a long time and its odd that EK have been slow to produce a water block for the  3080/90 FTW3 Ultra cards.
Very keen on getting this. would it be part of the step up program ? will the block be available separately ?

time will tell i guess....

Somebody new needs to come into the EVGA design team, it feels like theres some old dude behind the scenes trying to guess what the latest "cool" and "gamer" aesthetics looks like. I love EVGA and I always buy EVGA for the performance but the aesthetics is quite outdated. We need something like this:

The Kingping Hydro Copper however looks much much better

That Asus 3090 with a waterblock looks like a down-sku PCB layout...cause that ain't the TUF or STRIX pcb: https://www.windowscentra...ies-water-cooled-3.jpg
