One thing to keep in mind is that maybe EVGA is simply more popular as a brand than some of these others. When I was hovering over the nowinstock.net site for the 1080, refreshing Newegg, etc. looking for my 1080 I noticed that whenever EVGA went in stock it was gone literally in 1-3 minutes or so every time. When other brands went up it often took longer, and not just for FE cards - some ASUS and Gigabyte and other non-FE cards went up and were in stock for 5 or 10 or 15 minutes at various times. Small sample size, but possibly meaningful.

I really do think this will be the week, though. EVGA already filled all their own FTW pre-orders last week, which means all the stock they receive from now on will be sent out to fill their partner pre-orders, go in stock for retail sale, etc. If the volume of incoming stock trends upwards, and the volume of initial interest remaining unfilled trends downward, eventually those functions intersect and the card transitions from hard to get to easy to get. This isn't a perpetual situation.

Yes of course. EVGA is hands down the top NVIDIA brand and has been for many years. So obviously there is more demand. And yes eventually stock will normalize, but the question is... when will that be, next week, next month, next year? If people had the appropriate information they could make informed decisions, but EVGA is refusing to supply the necessary information.

Something else to keep in mind however, is that despite the "demand" which I think we can all agree will be higher with EVGA. EVGA has released almost NO stock at all. The only cards they have had in stock at all appear to be the FE cards which are NOT EVGA cards. To top that off, all of the other partners appear to be releasing cards much more frequently than EVGA is (PNY, Gigabyte, MSI, etc...). So clearly there is some availability somewhere, but yet we still see nothing from EVGA, and still no word about WHEN we can expect to see this availability.

Yay for information, any chance you can tell us which day this week to expect the first shipments to arrive? Ie will it be today, or Friday for example?

You should just send it straight to the scalpers and save the extra step...

Not evga but my local best buy has 1080's and 1070's in stock. I was surprised to see a shelf of 10 cards.

I'm running an EVGA 1080 SC that I picked up from Newegg last week. It was in my machine Friday afternoon. Clearly they're releasing some stock. Yeah, I was in the right page at the right time to snag that 1080 SC, but I wasn't alone, and that wasn't the first time they'd shown up either. They're making it out there, just not in as great of numbers as there are eager customers right now. That's changing. Mark my words, by the end of this week I think we'll see far, far fewer of these sorts of posts.

Check the closest Microcenter's website before they open. See when the cards will be there for opening. Drive there and wait in line, get a card.

Or do like I did Monday, based on their inventory system local Microcenter showed they had 5 Evga Sc's in stock. got there 30 mins before opening was second in line, and of course, wrong sku number, didn't have any. So either the employees bought them, or they had a system screw-up. Either way, fail and got to drive 90 mins round trip for nothing.

Some people actually work and can't spend all day waiting in line trying to hunt down a card that was "released" over a month ago. Maybe instead of using these BS tactics to self promote their products EVGA could try planning ahead and actually building up some stock before the official release date. It's not like EVGA only found out about the card on May 27th, they've known for months what was coming and could have prepared for it. Its not like this was a surprise.

Did you ever stop and think...Gee maybe EVGA isn't to blame here Nvidia is?.... You're acting like EVGA is the only company that is sold out of the 10 Series cards. EVERYONE is sold out because Nvidia isn't pushing out that many at a time and all of the companies using those GPU's are getting the blame for it.

Gee that's funny, cause PNY, Zotac, MSI and Gigabyte cards are out pretty regularly now. The only card with basically zero stock is EVGA.

On top of that you think the single largest Nvidia partner for at least the past 10 years, selling probably over 60% of the Nvidia stock doesn't have any pull with Nvidia when it comes to getting stock? EVGA is pretty much synonymous with Nvidia, yet they haven't had but a handful of cards in stock if that. Not to mention if Nvidia were responsible for the delay, don't you think EVGA would be pointing that out to avoid the ire of their consumers who are all a bit frustrated and upset at this point. Many of which have already changed vendors. And don't forget that this isn't just about not having stock. How about the fact that we still don't even have a clue when the stock will be arriving yet. I know damn well that they have shipping dates already, but they refuse to give the information. Its not just the lack of stock, its the total failure to communicate that is driving people mad, and that is absolutely within EVGA's control regardless of what is actually impacting their stock.

Oh really?

I said they regularly get them in stock, not that they currently have stock. EVGA is listed a total of 3 times all of which were the FE cards which aren't even EVGA cards. Look at how many times MSI, ZOTAC, and PNY are listed. And that's just a small snippet from the much larger list, which consistently shows the same thing.

See the thing is you are wrong. I have my EVGA FTW arriving later today, from Newegg, ordered last Wed, when it was in stock. Note this is not an FE as you claim is all that has been available from EVGA, I passed on the SC, it was available on Wed as well.

I think due to the issue with the protective plastic being under the screws..    I remember EVGA said they were fixing this problem after it was discovered on the first shipment of cards.    I wonder if they had to send back a shipment of cards to the factory to remedy this issue??    Initially EVGA was saying the cards would be available in mid-June.   But it's been almost nothing all month.

EVGA has been low on shipments of the aftermarket cards compared to other manufacturers, which kinda lines up with the plastic/screws problem.   The initial shipment went out and people started posting about that here on reddit and other forums.    Then after the plastic issue on the ACX cards, those got pushed back to end of June, early July...

Hopefully we'll see better availability this week and next...

I think that would have been fine if that was the case as long as they updated everyone to let them know. Obviously people would still be disappointed, but they wouldn't be upset about all the waiting with almost no information, many people checking back daily trying to figure out when stock will become available.

They could have simply said something like the following and it would have gone over relatively well...

"Hey we found a problem with the cards and instead of shipping out known defective products we have sent the first batch back to the factory for repairs. This will delay our expected shipping date by about 3-4 weeks".

Then at least people could decide if they were willing to wait that long, or if they simply wanted to go with a different brand.

Looking forward to seeing more FTW cards available.  I totally outsmarted myself on this launch.  I picked up an FE on launch day locally, but was interested when the FTW was announced.  I got preorders in at EVGA and Amazon pretty quickly.  Fast forward 2 weeks and I was pretty happy with the FE card and had a chance to get a second one ordered.. did that.  No FTW to be seen yet at that point.  Canceled the EVGA order before my FTW shipped, but kinda forgot about the Amazon order (not like it mattered..).

Then Amazon gave me the 20% discount on that FTW... whole landscape shifted a bit.  Canceled the second FE, got rid of the FE that I had... and now I've got nothing.  So yeah, wishing I hadn't canceled the EVGA FTW preorder.  The Amazon discount is HUGE, bringing a $680 card down to $544.  Definitely makes SLI more affordable this go-around.

Another internet person had posted about getting it, so I contacted customer service and complained about the delay. I mentioned the discount and they said no.. citing the high price from Amazon scalper trash as a reference. She said that she'd escalate it though, and I got an email with the price adjusted later.

And... just got my notification that my card was in stock, after it was sold out. Gotta say I'm glad you gave us a heads up Jacob or I would have missed it and been even more pissed off.

Yeah the woeful state of "auto notify" across the internet makes this launch suck even more.  I also think people are using bots to scan and purchase from places like Newegg.

Ya, luckily I purchased my last cards from EVGA, so I had all my data saved, made checkout much faster.

How were you able to get a 20% discount from Amazon?

Another internet person had posted about getting it, so I contacted customer service and complained about the delay. I mentioned the discount and they said no.. citing the high price from Amazon scalper trash as a reference. She said that she'd escalate it though, and I got an email with the price adjusted later.

Thanks! I suppose it's worth a try! :)

Edit: lol... they "upgraded" my one-day shipping to... one-day shipping. Thanks Amazon.
