Essentially BIOS v2.02 but with a fix for the 53,54,7F POST loop.

BETA BIOS 2.03 (E699 DARK K|NGP|N / E698 Classified)

  • Fixes 53,54,7F POST loop due to memory compatibility issue.

Windows Installation
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
         121-AL-E699-KR - EVGA Z690 DARK K|NGP|N - v2.03
         121-AL-E698-KR - EVGA Z690 CLASSIFIED - v2.03
  • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Close all open programs.
  • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-click update.bat
  • Press Y to start the flash process
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
  • After the flash is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Power on the system again and go into BIOS and adjust settings as needed.
  • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be run from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

BIOS Installation
  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  • From the BIOS, navigate to the EXTRAS tab at the upper left and click on "BIOS Update"
  • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

Please let me know if anyone runs into problems with this update.  Thanks!

Also, earlier BIOS files for each board can be found on our Download Center.

Hmmm. From the bad flashes, is anybody able to recover that bios/switch via a hot flash? I'm getting a failure to detect ME and tell it to flash anyway, but everything powers off after a few seconds.

When you say bad flashes, do you mean from 2.02? I went to bed for a few hours while we had no power so I didn't do 2.02. What were you guys seeing?

Yeah, sorry. From 2.02. Flashed in my normal position, had the errors above. Switched bios to try and reflash and inadvertently corrupted a second bios. On the third now and looking to recover the other 2 before progressing and further.

I flashed 2.02 to my Dark without issue inside of Windows. I was on 2.01 with my 13900K installed and A-Die. I also never updated my ME manually like some were doing so no idea if this is the reason.

I'm on a classy, so that might play a role as well.

Good lord... This is making me want to just do my 12900K testing on 2.01 and wait a few days to be dead honest. There is a 2.03 now, but not sure if it has issues as well. I might sacrifice BIOS chip 3 for it.

Yeah.  I'd wait.  I'm down to 1 bios and the other 2 will not let me recover them either via hot flashing or via flashback.  Not sure what's going on.  At least I have this one on 2.01.  Just need to guard it with my life.  lol

Update:  For the bios that were corrupted, I was attempting to flash last known good for me (2.01) and was getting the failures.  Hot flashing 2.03 seems to be working.  Will report back.

Update 2:  Both 2.02 bios toggles have been recovered via hot flashing to 2.03.  Keeping the 3rd one on 2.01 for recovery purposes.  Was a little inconveniently irritating, but kudos to EVGA for getting a fix out so quickly.

Flashed 2.03 on all three chips and it seems fine. Settings trained it normally, no weird voltage behavior either. Still noticing my RTLs aren't matched like they were on 1.15, but that's neither here nor there.

Would it be possible to include the md5 hash with BIOS releases?

I'm assuming the issue with 4090 FE not displaying BIOS is still present in this. Is there an ETA on when that will be fixed?

What happens if you clear CMOS?  Does the screen come up?  After saving, does the screen come up again or does it still bypass the BIOS?

I'll try later and get back to you. Maybe someone else having the same issue can try this before I get a chance to. Previously, I had to kind of guess what I was doing after updating the BIOS, since I couldn't see what I was doing. I think it's booted to the BIOS, it's just not displaying them when the 4090 FE is installed.

The FE 4090 issue with no bios screen/display until Windows was also present on my Z690 Hero with 13900K so it's definitely not just an EVGA issue, seems more like an Nvidia issue as this does not happen on my Z690 Dark with 13900K and 4090 Strix.

I'm in the same boat with my 12900k and 13900k, only the 1.15 BIOS with 12900k will let you get to the BIOS. With 2.01, 2.02, and 2.03 both the 12900k and 13900k no BIOS will show. I know it gets to BIOS since the code on mobo shows aB, but I get no monitor output. This ONLY happens with my 4090 FE.

I have the no BIOS issue on my 3090ti as well with my Samsung G9. If I disconnect the DP to the G9 my ASUS PG348q shows the boot screen/bios without issue. I occasionaly have issues with the G9 being detected in Windows as well without unplugging/re-plugging the DP cable. I had no issues on my 9900K/Asus Maximus X Code setup. Built a Z690 Classified/13900k and having lots of issues....

Anyone else having reboot issues with z690 dark + 13900k? I think I might of gotten a dud because I’m getting continuous rebooting issues the moment I log into windows. Put back my 12900k and no issues.

EVGA, please fix the RTX 4090 FE "no display" issue with 2.04 firmware, I can't even use my brand new Z690 Classified.  I get "no display" with RTX 4090 FE, or the onboard IGPU.  Nothing!

I can see the screen gets power, as it goes kind of grey, but then nothing happens, even if I wait 5mins, it just sits black.

Wondering now if its just like this DisplayID issue below: happened with 3060, 3080ti, and 3090ti's. NV released a firmware update for the FE GPU's.

With my 12900k at least I got Windows setup with BIOS 1.15, but with a 13900k your dead in the water with no working BIOS with a 4090 FE. Hopefully we get a update soon, many with this issue.

13900K + adie & mdie . With the new bios i can boot up to ramspeeds what i want (eg 8400mhz) but nothing above 6600mhz is nearly stable , even 6800 xmp is unstable. Old mdie kit what i used for a 7000c32 daily setting for months is unstable now too. Just low 6400xmp mdie is kinda working stable ~?
Board still cant even properly shutdown?! What the hell is going on here

I've been wondering this too. People had similar problems with 3080ti launched (and the others you mentioned, but 3080ti had tons!).

Update on the 4090 FE issue.  Long story short, it seems the RTX 4090 needs a driver update after getting into Windows, and Fast Boot is blocking this from occurring.

Please give these troubleshooting steps a try:  https://forums.evga.com/RTX-4090-FE-No-Display-issue-Troubleshooting-m3583341.aspx

*Edit - One final note:  With the RTX 4090 FE, you will still need to go into Windows and allow Windows to update the card before the BIOS may show picture.  After this occurs, you should be able to reboot and get to the BIOS.  Let us know if you're still struggling.

Essentially BIOS v2.02 but with a fix for the 53,54,7F POST loop.

    BETA BIOS 2.03 (E699 DARK K|NGP|N / E698 Classified)

    • Fixes 53,54,7F POST loop due to memory compatibility issue.

    Windows Installation
    • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
              - v2.03
              - v2.03

Thanks!

Also, earlier BIOS files for each board can be found on our .

    Please, can anyone help me?
I'm trying to boot my new PC (Z690 Dark + 13900K + Corsair Dominator 5600 MHz).
No display. I've already tried DP and HDMI with an RTX3090 and RTX3060.
In the post sometimes 7F 53 54 loop.
When I try to flash the post code is E8 or E1, depending on the flash drive I use (all of them as FAT32).
I don't want a RMA since  my Z690 was brought from the US to Brazil on a trip. It will be expensive to send it back, and I don’t want to wait too long.
I'm thinking of buying the cheapest 12th gen (i3 or i5) in hope that it will boot with older CPU and I can flash on windows.
    Any suggestion?
