I'm getting unstable a-die xmp. Can't run my GSkill 7200 at XMP, can only get stable at 6200 mhz

Lee, I think i may have found my issue: https://www.overclock.net/threads/rtx4090-and-boot-loop.1801324/ people with various motherboards and various 4090's but we're all experiencing the same problems, 12 pages worth. Looks like a Nvidia engineer is also involved.

Temp Workaround: Nv Control panel set power to "maximum preferred"
Fix 1: "What fixed the boot loop for me was disabling the PCI Express Native Power Management in Asus BIOS" - I dont think we have this setting with EVGA boards?
Fix 2: Update VBIOS

I updated my vbios but the same problem was happening, but LESS frequently. I just changed the power to maximum preferred and all seems to be working. Looks like it's a power delivery issue?

I'll pass this to our MB team.

Have 3 kits of that myself - each one of them on my board (KP) i've had to set the TX voltage to 1.27 (stock/auto is 1.4v) to actually get memtest stable on any A-die kits.  I've noticed odd VDD scaling in 7800-8200 speeds where ranges of voltage will provide massive amounts of instability.  For example setting anywhere from 1.541 to 1.59 gives massive amounts of errors/bsod, however 1.54 and 1.6 provide more stable testing at higher frequencies. Using HCI memtest.

Thanks for the heads up! Are you talking about cpu vddq or ram vddq? Mind showing me which voltages to adjust to run xmp speeds?

When referring to the voltage irregularities I meant mem VDD, been leaving mem VDDQ on auto as setting it manually has always decreased stability for me(very possible just im just dumb).

Also I cant respond to your PM yet as I've made less than 10 posts  but AFAIK cpu vddq = tx voltage which i've set at 1.27 (a friend who also has rpl+z690kp set his to 1.26).  This voltage seems to be very sensitive because from my testing even adjusting ~5mv can cause stability issues.  Getting XMP to work with the kits was really as simple as throwing 1.27v at the cpu vddq and leaving stock xmp mem vdd at 1.4v (in one case i had a stick require 1.45v but im like 99% sure its a bad stick cause it literally will not boot with vdd over 1.48).

I haven't spent a lot of time at 7600 and below, most of my time has been spent working on 7800-8200 (8400 no post), if you'd like me to run any tests I can since i'm kind of chilling for the sake of my sanity and I also have a 13900KF coming monday cause I'm starting to wonder if i'm being limited by IMC.  maybe copium

EDIT: I should add I've been working with ecores disabled.

Help, I'm getting random kernal crashing on resulting in black screens during game play on my 3080ti, not sure if this is transient power spikes from the GPU or an conflict BIOs.

Bios: 2.03 Classy
CPU: 13700K
GPU: EVGA 3080TI FTW
VBIOS: 94.02.71.80.74 - Resizable BAR: Enabled
PSU: EVGA 850 P6

Random Black screen during gaming (PUGB and BF2042), sometimes audio continues to work and I need to restart, other times it will crash with 100% fans. 2.5 Hours with out error, then 5 events within 1 hour.

Ran Benchmarks in 2K and in 4K with random Black Screen Events in Passmark Performance Test.

Note: GPU was functioning without error on Z390 Classified with a 8700K last week (Computer was disassembled for the 13700K build)

Things I have tried:
Windows 11 - Up to date and rolled back and re-updated (22H2)
Windows 11 - Power Settings - Balanced [Active]
Windows 11 Default Graphic Settings:
1. Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling - Off
2. Variable Refresh Rate - On
3. Optimizations for Windows Games - Off
Windows 11 - Personalization - Static Image
Nvidia Control Panel - Image settings - Performance
Nvidia Control Panel - Manage 3D Settings - Power Management Mode - Normal
Nvidia Driver: (Always Clean installed) 526.47

For A-die at 7800-8400 I have to run TX lower, like 1.15-1.18v

Hi everyone. Not sure if anyone is having the same issue but my mobo keeps starting up after shutting down in the OS. Have tried changing settings in the power configuration tab in BIOS but to no avail. Could this be BIOS related?

Same issue here *z690 DarK Kingpin - boot loop
53 54 7F
As I planned to use this MB with the 13900K I wanted to upgrade to latest bios -
Before upgrade - everything good - windows stable - 12900K / 3090Ti EVGA FTW3 Ultra
After upgrade - 2.02 - loop
Teste with 2 different DDR5 kits
Gskill
F5-6000U3636E16GX2-TZ5RS
F5-5600U3636C16GX2-TZ5RK

Update:

Found some new sticks of DDR5 RAM - Corsair CMK32GX5M2B5600C36 - and everything works fine - seems like a compatibility issue between the new bios and certain RAM sticks.

No it just keeps restarting when I shutdown in OS. Tried switching off automatic restart under advanced system settings in Windows 10 but to no avail. Hopefully it is BIOS related and a future fix will sort this out.

Does anyone know if we should disable CKE Power Down or how it influences stability? I assume before we had the option, it was always on auto. I've had it on auto since 2.01 and had it disabled for my 12900K vs 13700K testing. Not sure if it's beneficial to leave it on auto/enabled though.

Just finished a build with the Classifieds Z690, Zotac 3090, G Skill DDR 5 Trident Z5 Ram, and I5-12600KF. At first boot, I'm getting the same boot loop 7F, 53, 54.... Even if I take out the ram modules I get the same errors. I have tried booting with 1 ram module in slot 2 but still the same issue... The bios is running the same outdated version that shipped with the board. Nothing is displaying via HDMI or DVI... any thoughts?

yes, updated bios 1 to the latest 2.03 beta but it's still flashing 7F, 53, 54... this is my second EVGA Z690 Classifieds board so I'm not sure what the heck is going on here. The first board posted 00 after bios update... I bought this to use with the i9-13900K but figured I would install the i5-12600KF first since I would be able to get into windows to update bios....

Can someone let me know what I need to do to get the board to recognize my Zotac 3090? When I swap the card back to the 3090 it will no longer show anything on the screen.

yes, updated bios 1 to the latest 2.03 beta but it's still flashing 7F, 53, 54... this is my second EVGA Z690 Classifieds board so I'm not sure what the heck is going on here. The first board posted 00 after bios update... I bought this to use with the i9-13900K but figured I would install the i5-12600KF first since I would be able to get into windows to update bios....

If you don't have a VGA in the system, does it get past 53,54,7F?

Also, what happens if you only use one memory module?

Hi, I'd like to request the following:
- More A-die optimizations/compatibility/support. I currently have 6800C38 1.45v Oloy kit with Richtek PMIC. It doesn't seem to work well on The Z690 Dark.
- Some A-die profiles in BIOS to get a baseline
- Add PMIC Switching frequency adjustments (up to 1.5KHz)
- Ability to select BLCK DRAM RATIO 100:100 and 100:133
- Prevent PMIC Turbo Modes from locking minimum CPU VDDQ (Turbo mode 4 locks it to 1.35v and cannot be lowered). It'd be great know what Turbo mode does to memory.

Thank you!

But it’s their special sauce. If they told us what PMIC turbo does then it wouldn’t be special anymore :/.

Does your a-die have issues on 2.03 or earlier bios?
