bios 1 slot (before update 53,54,59,7f code) > 2.01 (53,54,7f code) > 2.02 (53,54,7f code) > can`t update 2.03 (e4 code) bios 2 slot (before update 53,54,59,7f code) > 2.01 (53,54,7f code) > 2.02 (53,54,7f code) > can`t update 2.03 (e4 code) bios 3 slot (before update 53,54,59,7f code) > 2.03 (53,54,7f code) > can`t re-write update 2.03 (e4 code) They told me to update bios by windows or by bios display. But display is not working! How can i update by that windows or bios? I can update it by only without cpu way... And why the bios is not rollback when i push the cmos reset button? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My bios is already 2.03. At that bios i can`t update it to 2.03. When i tried to update by usb, led is indicate clockwise. After that indicate post code E4. What is E4 code means? In the manual, E4~E7 means Reserved for future AMI progress codes. I can`t understand what this means. Bios 2.03 is not solve my post code. I think bug is nox fixed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Monitor brand/model - Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T Connector (DP/HDMI) - DP CPU - i7 13700K Z690 model/BIOS - Dark Kingpin / 2.03 GPU (brand/model) - Zotac amp extreme holo 3080ti black tiger edition RAM - CORSAIR DOMINATOR DDR5 5600MHZ C36 16GBx2

E4 means that the board can't find the BIOS file on your USB disk. Is the file renamed EVGAE699.bin and on the root of your USB disk? If so, try renaming the file again to EVGAE690.bin and give it another shot. Clear CMOS doesn't roll back a BIOS, it just sets the current BIOS version to default settings.

After re-naming the file name to EVGAE690.bin, update is going well. But the post codes are not gone. 53,54,7F code still remain and my display doesn`t work. When the update is ongoing I catched one thing. All the components RGB is on, but the ram`s RGB only off.

Ram rgb is mainly controlled by the icue software. My dominators never lit up until I had the app installed.

UglyBoy Please, can anyone help me?I'm trying to boot my new PC (Z690 Dark + 13900K + Corsair Dominator 5600 MHz).No display. I've already tried DP and HDMI with an RTX3090 and RTX3060.In the post sometimes 7F 53 54 loop. When I try to flash the post code is E8 or E1, depending on the flash drive I use (all of them as FAT32).I don't want a RMA since my Z690 was brought from the US to Brazil on a trip. It will be expensive to send it back, and I don’t want to wait too long.I'm thinking of buying the cheapest 12th gen (i3 or i5) in hope that it will boot with older CPU and I can flash on windows.Any suggestion?
Did you rename the .bin file in the USB stick? for your motherboard (Dark), you want to rename it to "EVGAE699.bin". Here's a note from Lee on someone else with a similar issue trying to use the flash-back feature: EVGATech_LeeM E4 means that the board can't find the BIOS file on your USB disk. Is the file renamed EVGAE699.bin and on the root of your USB disk? If so, try renaming the file again to EVGAE690.bin and give it another shot.

Ok, I'll pass that on to the team. Have you tested the sticks 1 at a time to rule out a bad DIMM?

I had a chance to talk to our MB team briefly about this. How are you able to confirm that 2.03 successfully flashed? Are we assuming that it flashed successfully because you didn't see an error? It's OK if we are, just want to make sure. First, please try the first beta BIOS we put up, v2.00 to see if it works for you: https://forums.evga.com/BETA-BIOS-Updates-for-Z690-DARK-KNGPN-200-CLASSIFIED-200-m3574539.aspx If that doesn't work, please download BIOS v2.03 again and rename it to EVGAE690.bin to make sure that a different file wasn't put on the USB stick by accident. If that still doesn't work, I'm inclined to think that there may be a hardware issue with the CPU, memory, or maybe a bent pin in the CPU socket. However, I don't mind sending you the test BIOS to try, but it won't do anything different for the 53,54,7F cycle error.

Ok so I’ve finally completed my first batch of testing. The 13700K performs comparably to my 12900K in terms of behaviour alongside my M-die. I can now do 7200C32 @ 1.605/1.5 vs the 12900K capping at 7000C34 @ 1.47/1.38. VDD2 I left at auto in both cases, TX 1.4 is it, and I used 1.2 SA for the 13700K vs 1.25 for the 12900K. The other primaries and the sub timings and TATs are all basically identical for both OCs. I dunno if this is just me but I haven’t really been observing anything weird with my 13700K and my Dark. My OC did 650% in HCI and I stopped it. I’ve been hearing something about manual IMC voltages causing BIOSs to break? What’s up with that?

Looking at your posts, I'm going to guess you have a Z690 Classified. - Use BIOS 2 and go into Windows. If you have a spare PC, you can leave it on BIOS 1 and follow the steps below.
- Download v2.03 for the Classified. Unzip the file.
- Rename the .bin file to EVGAE698.bin, and move it to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB disk.
- Plug the USB stick into the USB2.0 port (BIOS Update port) on the motherboard.
- Turn off the power supply and press the power button on the motherboard to discharge power.
- Turn the power supply back on. Press and hold the BIOS Update button on the rear I/O for about 5 seconds.
- You should see the POST LED cycle in a clockwise manner. This can take up to 7 minutes.
- When finished, the system should reboot and go into the BIOS.

Although there is a slim chance there could be something BIOS related, I would focus more on hardware troubleshooting at this point. Just to check though, did you ever clear the CMOS after one of these BIOS flashes? Please try that if you haven't. BIOS versions v2.01 and v2.02 contained an item that caused compatibility issues with some memory kits, which caused the 53,54,7F cycle error. However, this item is not present in either 2.00 or 2.03, or any BIOS prior to 2.00. This suggests that the issue is likely with your CPU, memory, or possibly bent pins in the socket. You tested the memory one stick at a time, so unless all of your memory is bad, it's probably either a CPU or motherboard issue. I would carefully uninstall the CPU and check to see if there are any bent pins, thermal grease, or debris in the CPU socket to rule that out. After that, depending on what other hardware you have available to test, we can see what is left to try.

Hey Team/Lee My Z690 Dark Kingpin is currently having random reboot issues with TWO 13900k's. Completely stock, as well as XMP. Tried two different ram sticks one rated for 6200 mhz and the other at 7200 mhz. When putting my 12900k back in the problems go away. Problem is occurring with TWO 13900k's I purchased. Spoke with Daniel in customer service who also agreed that getting two bad CPU's back to back is extremely rare. Told me to post in this thread to let the engineering team know.

Which memory modules? Can you describe how the restarts typically happen? Are you adjusting any settings in the BIOS?

EVGATech_LeeM Which memory modules? Can you describe how the restarts typically happen? Are you adjusting any settings in the BIOS?
I've tried two ram sets: A. Corsair 6200 32gb - tried both XMP and stock 4800 mhz (used this with my 12900k, so i know its rock solid) B. Gskill 7200 32gb - tried both XMP and stock 4800 mhz Scenario A: 1st 13900k as soon as i put in the new processor and my new gskill 7200 ram the computer would never make it past windows login screen. I'd go to enter my password/pin and before I could complete the screen goes dark completely and i'm greeted by the evga logo screen. (I also noticed I was getting flickering sometimes before the computer rebooted) Scenario B: 2nd 13900k i was able to get logged in load some programs and even surf the web. Even ran and finished 3dmark, shortly after tho the random reboots started happening again. I would be using computer then screen goes black and or sometimes a hard hang followed by green screen of death (memory management) and greeted with evga logo screen. Scenario C: 2nd 13900k, now is repeating scenario A and I can't make it past the welcome / login screen now. Before I can enter my password or pin the system resets. What I noticed is after 2-3 continuous boot loops the screen will then just sit blank. I'll have to manually reboot or turn off and back on for it to start happening again. I even tried a different a different PSU and even PCIE slot all same result.

hurricaneksh 1. I tried v2.00 : 53,54,7F code alive 2. I tried m/b package`s original usb bios : 53,54,59,7F code alive 3. I tried v2.03 : 53,54,7F code alive (59 code has gone. That`s because bios sensing the CPU, so hardware has no problem probably.) Remark : If your m/b bios is upper than v2.00, you need to rename the file to EVGAE690.bin If your m/b bios is original usb version, you need to rename the file to EVGAE699.bin
1. Checked the CPU and no bent pin. 2. Tested memory one by one. Nothing`s changed. I have question. Is this board compatible with these items? 1. Corsair dominator ddr5 5600mhz cl36 (CMT32GX5M2B5600C36) 2. Zotac amp extreme holo 3080ti(Black tiger edition)

EVGATech_LeeM Do you have the model numbers of the memory? If you posted it elsewhere, feel free to link me there.

Hello, anyone having issue with raid using the last bios? Raid and non-raid disks are correctly listed in Bios after activating RAID but none are listed during windows 11 setup despite adding the intel raid controller driver. Cheers

Question: Have you followed the note (data sheet 1210AL-E699) for flashing the BIOs w/o CPU: Before you begin, make sure that your USB flash drive is formatted as FAT32, or this method of flashing the BIOS will not work, as noted above. If you plan to use the included USB flash drive with the latest BIOS version from the EVGA Website, please make sure to first follow the steps listed above for the “To flash from power on state” section to prepare the flash drive. Once the latest BIOS is placed in the root folder and renamed EVGAE699.bin, you are ready to proceed with the BIOS update. If you missed this step it should help

Lee, I think i may have found my issue: https://www.overclock.net/threads/rtx4090-and-boot-loop.1801324/ people with various motherboards and various 4090's but we're all experiencing the same problems, 12 pages worth. Looks like a Nvidia engineer is also involved. Temp Workaround: Nv Control panel set power to "maximum preferred" Fix 1: "What fixed the boot loop for me was disabling the PCI Express Native Power Management in Asus BIOS" - I dont think we have this setting with EVGA boards? Fix 2: Update VBIOS I updated my vbios but the same problem was happening, but LESS frequently. I just changed the power to maximum preferred and all seems to be working. Looks like it's a power delivery issue?
