Tried messing with my CPU for 2 hours.. no go for 5.3ghz. Vccio down to 1.2250v.. tested with cinebench every time.

First pass no go. Raise vcore to 1.37,1.38,1.39 then finally at 1.4v.

Even disabled 2 dimms to take that out of the equation. Even lowered the ram to 3800mhz. Dropped the uncore to 45 from 47.

Raised the vccio up a little ea time up to 1.280v no good.

Sometimes an error in cinebench.. most of the time a blue screen after 2-3 passes.

So nuts. 5 2 dead stable and even now moved the uncore to 49.

Only thing I didn't try was jacking the dram voltage to 1.45-1 5v. Afraid to as with 1.41v in the bios its 1.43v on load. Doubt I need that much voltage at 3800mhz at the time.

Also now have xmp off and manual timing for ram.

Temps seem fine under 80c durring cinebench. 2 cores touched 80c at 1.4v which was 1.368v load and 1.403v at idle.

When I go to change cases sometime soon hopefully, I'll check the contact on the cpu.. see if maybe the CPU socket is hitting the block preventing good pin contact pressure with the socket. That's all I can think or this puppy dont want to fly and 5.2 is the limit.

I would of went with a evga dark mb but sidnt want to buy 2 16gb dimms when i could easily just double up what i had. :/

Only 20% or so of 9900ks can even do 5 GHz stable. Based on a small sample size but still.

Really don’t think it has anything to do with contact in the socket. It just can’t do 5.3. Most can’t even do 5.1 or 5.2.

Real water with 480 + 360 radiator. The side intake on the Luxe 2 may be a 420. But either way, plenty of cooling real estate. I plan to buy the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe 2 as soon as it comes out. It looks awesome. Huge interior with tons of radiator space without breaking the bank like the absurd Enthoo Elite (which is outdated at this point). I have an Evolv X currently and the build quality and features on it are quite good.

Mine is under a Corsair H115i Platinum right now, which has done the job just fine.

Haven’t decided what block to go with. Was gonna do the Maximus Xi Extreme monoblock but heard bad things about it. May just do something from EK.

DDC pump is probably better than the D5 with those big rads.  I have a 420 GTS and 360GTX rad dual block loop on a 9900k and the D5 struggles.

DDC pump is probably better than the D5 with those big rads.  I have a 420 GTS and 360GTX rad dual block loop on a 9900k and the D5 struggles. 


Dont wana read that.. was afraid the ek d5 rad/pump isint gona be enough for a 480 and 360 rad. Was thinking of just a single loop putting 2 d5s in between the blocks with 2 480 and 2 360 rads but hear it really wont help pressure.

Did dual tripple top DDC pumps in the past with 3 360 rads and a 480 and it was great. Haha overkill I bet. Worked great. :/

I will order a pmp-500 and see how perfs vs the EK DDC.
 
Silly but I didn't buy in the past because I have a distain for old school molex connectors and mustard cables. If I like it it can be bench pump. 
 
Wait you bought that Koolance Chiller? what is the coolant and omg spill the beans. I am genuinely excited for you that is awesome.

You use this for simple testing

It is what I use with my Second Pump in the Same Loop to give me the Extra Flow.
 
Yes I did get this EXC-800 Portable 800W Recirculating Liquid Chiller it is here in Commerce City but will not deliver it until Wednesday.
Koolance 702 Liquid Coolant, High-Performance, UV Blue, 700ml (24 fl oz) is the Coolant I am using. No one likes it but I use it.
I will play with and learn how to use it on my FTW3 Rig until the Hydro Copper Water Blocks come into stock.
 
You can also get Koolance Parts from http://www.performance-pcs.com/ I do when Koolance's website has no Stock

I run Duel Loops so if you are running a Single Loop CPU/GPU then I would Run:
Pump/Res(1) Rad - CPU - Rad - GPU -Pump/Res(2) - Rad - back to 1 


Ideally I'd run single loops but thinking why not run the card and clu threw all 4 since they normally dont run max together.. if these 2 d5 pump ain't enough to blow threw a 480 and 360.rad and the highly restrictive evga GPU block (if it's anything like the 2080ti ftw3 copper then I may be better off running both pumps pushing threw both blocks and 4 rads.. though prob end up.the same.

2 rads per side so I prob cant run it how you mentioned.

A long time ago using Danger Den water blocks.  Danner has some huge mag drive that make a low freq hum, quiet.  As I age, I get more lazy and want to buy turn-key solutions.  I wonder if the EXC-800 would be enough for cpu and KP.

I am honestly not sure how much radiator real estate is needed for what I’m aiming for. I’d like to think the HC block could drop my temps by 10 C or so. The room I’m in right now is hot so my card runs at 50 C most of the time. Would a thick 360 get the job done? Or should I do as I said earlier and do the thick 360 with the thinner 420/80 and just put two pumps in the loop?

Nothing Less Than a Thick 360 IMO.
I know that a That a Thick 240 Will Not Cut It.

When I build the loop for my KPE it will be using at least 2x 360mm rads @ 45mm thickness... most likely I'll do 2x 480 in my SMA-8 and I will be doing a dual-loop set-up.
 
The HC blocks can't come soon enough, listening to the pump on this KPE is becoming kinda annoying.

Anecdotal:
In a well ventilated case and push/pull(100% OC bios) on the KP 240, using ML120 as push fans.  Just purchased ML120 for pull fans.
 
Room 75F, load 44-47c  (idle is 30-32)
Room 60s, load 32-35c  (idle is mid 20s)
 
Room at 75F lets me run stable when card pulls <400w
Room at frigid w/wind chill 50-60s, I've hit 2160 with ave peaks of ~420w  (still testing)
I'm monitoring GPU-Z sensors during bench testing.
 
2nd floor house thermostat is set for 75F.  Family hates the cold so I have a dual-duct portable AC(Wynter) in my room.
 
Bring down the ambient room temps and the stock KP 240 is decent.

Noticed you're running lower mem and higher gpu.  You mentioned that yielded better performance earlier somewhere.  When I ran LL 0/1, higher mem, and lower gpu yielded more consistent scores and stability.  m=1320/g=110 gave me the best 2160/2175 scores with card drawing easy +400 watts.  Throttles down to 2160-2140, but higher scores and misleading clocks reported.  I need to try the prescribed m=1000 and slowly build g=110-135 levels with LL0/1 and see.  I'm keeping nvvdd=1.05-1.093.  Haven't tried overvolting nvvdd too much, yet.  Only went as high as 1.1 on LL1/2 a couple times.  Being conservative and getting to know GPU boost.
