I didn't hit notify me on the 17th, even though I had the opportunity first thing that morning to do so. (Because it never works or if it does, it's too late anyway - so I never bothered.) Then for this Adorama back order, the Ultra kept giving me an error to add to cart, so I settled for the Gaming not thinking anything of it. In both cases - the decisions have screwed me... Before ALL that, I bought into Nvidia's insane claims of the 3080 obliterating the 2080Ti and sold my 2080Ti early thinking surely if I can F5 fast enough, I'll be able to get a 3080. Now here I am with an EVGA 2070 Super that I only bought to enter the step up queue since I assume/hope that will certainly be at least slightly faster than getting one thru the email queue with my position being so far back. I figured if Adorama didn't come through, which it doesn't look like they will since EVGA has decided not to produce Gaming cards, I'd have another course of action to get a card.

They shipped XC3 Ultras, too. But it looks like any of the lower trim level SKUs (Gaming / Black) are not being produced in large quantities at this time.

Yea I'm on the line for XC3 black, I might be able to land a Gigabyte Gamer OC 3080 card through a connection. If I do, I'll cancel the non extistent XC3 black preorder.

I don’t think it ever existed, at least not for a December release. Going back to at least Pascal, nvidia has waited 7-8+ months before releasing a ti or super variant. Even if they could make them now, it makes more sense to stagger the release to maintain revenue streams throughout next year.

I'd go AMD in a heartbeat if I knew for sure their drivers wouldn't be junk and they had day 1 ray tracing. That's coming from someone who has only ever bough Nvidia for about 16 years now. That's how annoyed I am with this launch.

I've been using a Radeon card in the interim on a new build here and I haven't had any issues with the drivers but yeah, no ray tracing either.

From everything I've been hearing the AMD drivers for the RX5000 series is really solid right now. New reports say the latest RX 5700xt drivers have been stabilized and optimized over time to be faster than the RTX 2070 super. AMD seems intent on delaying the release of the RX6000 series until they feel the driver is at a very stable release, plus don't forget the RDNA2 architecture is in the Xbox series X and PS5. Which means the Ray tracing drivers have probably already hit a high level of testing on the Xbox s X before being released.
To me the RX 6900XT will be super interesting if it comes in close to RTX 3090 level porformance at a much lower price. I can't believe it's already been 1.5 month since the launch of the RTX 3080 and AMD is going to announce their RX 6000 series while most of us still don't have a RTX 3080 in our systems. Craziness.

Actually to my surprise I witnessed in a 4 month span Nvidia release the 780 3G in May 2013 which I ended up buying one at the end of summer when the EVGA Classified was released and had the option to step up to the newly released 780 6GB reference in Sept. 2013.  I thought about it long and hard but never went through with it. I think you're hearing the cancel now because they saw what they were up against and saw no need to bump it up. You'll most likely see something a year from now unless AMD pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

+1 on that, tired of waiting and last time I built a gaming PC was when HDD had platters and ribbon cables.... The struggle is real here as I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a temporary solution so I'm using an RX 570 that I picked up on eBay for $150.

Do I even need to download the new XOC bios for the normal and OC bios on the card? EDIT: Did you guys get your WD:Legion and Geforce Now codes? How did you do it? Adorama CS is telling me to contact EVGA but then the posts here are saying to contact the retailers. I'm confused

Yup! Latest geforce driver and latest PX1 version. Honestly, I'm really impressed with the stock settings coming from a 1080TI. The only settings I probably touched was the RGB and the fan speed. I cranked the fans to run at 70% at 70C and I probably saw my card hit 71C max while playing HZD at 1440p last night just to test the waters, you know. That's what I said to the CS rep. I've seen numerous posts here that the retailer/etailer should have the bundle codes for the 30-series. Let's see how this goes. If I don't get those codes, I'd be really really REALLY pissed at Adorama after all this.

The price has gone up exponentially since then for the flagship model, makes a lot more sense to stagger the release at these higher price points. Only a very small, dedicated minority is going to spend $700 to upgrade a GPU and then another $850 (or whatever a hypothetical 3080 with 20GB would cost) a few months later to upgrade again, and too high a price kills sales. As nvidia found out with Turing.

The GTX 780 was actually around $650 IIRC but since my GPU was a Classified version or in todays world, FTW3s it was much more. Also, since it was a Hydro Copper on top of that, they were going for $900 and ended up grabbing a used one a year or so later for much less for SLI. As far as pricing goes, it sure feels like it jumped substantially in the 2010-2020 era but there are a few variables at play here. Supply and demand will raise pricing across the board including higher wages overseas and adjustment of inflation. That doesn't take natural disasters or what have you into play which would also affect the outcome.

did anyone get the x3 ultra? I have a question was the seal broken for you guys when you got it? Seal where covers the x3 box from opening.

 Sure, do you think it was customs that opened it before it got to Adorama? I checked and it seems like all the wrappings around the card are in place. I was worried they might have sent me an 2nd hand. Image Link:
