Re:Acrylic Full Tower Build 2010/06/19 00:38:07 (permalink)
Thanks guy's!!!

Here's an update on the case. I still need to make the mobo tray, which I will do tomorrow. In the pic's you will see how the case get's put together. It looks almost the same as the previous build with the aluminum frame, but this one has the acrylic frame and is much more precise and stronger. Enjoy and thanks for looking!!!!

The case feet with 6-32 threaded inserts

bottom frame braces

bottom floor attached

side frames

lower floor frame (it's clear as we will be adding white LED's to it)

lower floor

HD and 5.25 cage inserted through lower floor slots and locked into place on the bottom floor

HD cage mounted

false wall inserted into slots on the lower floor

Rad mounts installed

upper floor frame installed and false wall inserted into it also to lock in place

upper floor installed

back and front frame installed

top frame braces installed, locking in the 5.25 cage

top panel, front and back installed

That's all for now. After the mobo tray then off to make the fan filters for the case!!!

Thank you for checking the revised case out!!!!

Yes, much weight will be lifted. Then off to the next case!!!! LOL!!!

Well the case is done and im extremely happy with the results of the new design. The case is solid as a rock and looks more professionally built. I learned a lot more from this build too...which is a good thing!

Now time for the install!! We sent the psu to Martin (crysisgamer) for sleeving and it should be back in a couple of weeks. For now it's cable management time for the rest of the components.

Here' the pic's of the case completed..enjoy and thanks for looking!!!

Thanks guy's!!! All your kind comments are greatly appreciated!!!!

I do plan on making more, how much one will be is still being figured out. I'll have to add up all the materials that make up the case to see my costs, then calculate my time involved.

I can't wait to see this thing put together my self, it started back September of last year and has had two prototypes made before ending on the final design. (their sitting here collecting dust) LOL!!!!

More pic's to come once the install begins!!!

Thank you all once again!!!!

Hi nice job but I wish I had and Acrylic Laser to use and I could do
the same, the 200 watt one at work will do it to but the boss will
not let me use it after hours.
But nice job with the right tools makes all the differance.

Thanks guy's!!!! Really appreciate your comments!!!

@remenaker, that's too bad....you would have a lot of fun with that!!!
@rud3wboy, not sure yet, or sure if I'll make this one again...new designs coming!
@DMIINC, you were the man long before me...and still are!!!
@Teng, I feel the weight being lifted every day!!!

Putting together this build has led me to one conclusion, the tower design, no matter how big it is, isn't the best design for running multiple rads or loops. This thing is huge, yet there are space constraints.

Tower designs I believe are best for air cooled pc's. So I have come up with multiple designs suited for the enthusiast where every component has room and is easy to get to and work on. More to come soon....

I've also been working on a custom case lately which I'm hoping the owner will let me show it's build process....more to come on that too...

Finally, here's an update on the full tower build. All loops are ready for testing....just couldn't find a funnel and the wife lost my hand pump...

Quick disconnects for the rads....

More to come....if I can ever find that funnel!!!!!

Thanks for looking!!!!
