I have never queue to buy anything from evga on release date. How is it like whenever trying to buy on the evga website on release date?

While it is certainly difficult to get a card even when on the queue for a 30 series card, I am glad that EVGA has taken initiative with a queue-based system for their customers to buy their cards. All of the other companies really don't care and it's basically a free-for-all to get anything. I signed up for a 3080 FTW3 Ultra a month ago so I won't be getting one anytime soon but at least I have some peace knowing that after some time I will eventually get a notification even if it is 7-9 months down the line.

3. Take my well earned PTO to get the launch morning off and camp out in front of the nearest micro center

My guy, I think you might need to camp out in front of Microcenter at least 24 hours in advance. That's what most people had to do for the 3070/3080, and crypto prices are higher than ever and so the demand/wait-time should also be higher.

The MSRP I have seen is $999; I really love the EVGA FTW3 2070 Super I am using and would prefer to get the 3080ti model when it drops.  However, the MSI Ventus 3080ti, this is not confirmed, has a release date of the 31st.  I want to give this 2070 super to my gf and get a 3080ti so I won't feel the need to get the next gen graphics card after this.

Their biggest anti bot is the product shuffle with mobo/psu/ram combo.

"Msrp" of the 3080ti is $999. Aib cards will be higher but I don't think past $1250.

Yeah at least, start NOW.  Wheel up in an RV and stake out your spot.  Should be able to score a 4080 some time in 2022.

Man. I was hoping to be an elite member. I guess my account of almost 6 years and valid products doesn't count. Bet you that bots with 100 posts will get their 3080 tis before valid customers that like their company. Dam shame.

What's your guess on MSRP

The Nvidia card will probably be 999.99 and then after market will be in the 1000-1300 area. 3rd party sellers will probably make it worth 3k. God I hate people.

I have a Rift S in my household but to be honest, the refresh rate and resolution of that headset are not that demanding. A 2070 Super (or similar -- 1080ti,  5700xt, etc) can max out most games when using a Rift S. 
So if you have recommendations on a higher resolution headset than Rift S, please let me know. 

I upgraded from the Rift S to the Valve Index. That's a nice upgrade in terms of resolution and FOV. And the Index is a very polished product.
 
Now I also bought a Reverb G2. The resolution is twice the index. For VR, the visual clarity is mindblowing. The FOV is a lower than the Index, it's more like the Rift S. It's not as polished a product as Index or Rift S.
