I am a Elite member but I haven't got my Kingpin either. Elite member just another 2 words that doesn't mean jack.Try to purchase at minute of launch or get on list for the 3080ti within first 5 minutes is only hope. My Elite member gives me the first 24 hrs for list signing, maybe get a card probably not.Bots will always get most of stock as has been the case with every one of 30 series gpus launched.I know the fan boys are falling over in their defense of EVGA but really where are the cards at?besides 3rd sellers and EBAY?Good luck getting a 3080ti.

There's literally a solution to this. Force people to solve an anti-bot puzzle that becomes available to everyone at the same time. People sit on a dynamic page with a countdown. Puzzle data is pushed and loaded at the end of the countdown. People enter the queue in the order that they finish the puzzle. This means that a bot has no advantage because it's can't get someone into the queue ahead of another person.

I'm not especially familiar with NewEgg's system. I discovered it today 2 minutes before it closed. What is to prevent a botter from creating numerous accounts that enter the drawing for every single item?

Lol there are bots that can literally solve this. Remember Captcha?

My understanding was that there are captcha services that are still effective against bots. Is this no longer the case? This is not a technology I keep up with.

I remember when the 3090s were $1700 - $1900 and I thought that was too insane. Now they’re $3500 or greater. A good alternative seems to be to go with a custom build. I was able to score a 5900x with a 3080 and 4000 mhz ram for under $4k. If you want to get a GPU close to MSRP, that seems to be the only way. Of course there were problems with my rig. But I simply RMA’d the cooler and case fans and installed my own since those components are the only components that won’t break the bank and can be acquired for a reasonable price.

They check for account history and previous purchases and stuff like that.

That's awesome. Are they limiting how frequently someone can buy certain components? Like, if someone wins the lottery for a 5900x and excises their opportunity to purchase it, can they continue to enter to purchase more CPUs? Or, is there some sort of "cool off" period where they have to wait before purchasing another CPU?

I have bought 3 gpus from EVGA a 780 ti and two titan x's as well as a mobo. but ultimately they are all about the well you aren't a gamer because you haven't had to upgrade your system in years. One would think they take the length of time an account has been made into consideration when doing the ques. its been like 6 years since ive upgraded my computer and i think its time.

Yeah, same. I spent big bucks to get a 780Ti Classified long ago, but apparently that doesn't make me "elite" enough. Oh well, I guess I'll keep commenting.

I also bought a few EVGA cards a long while ago. Gonna get on the posting and get in that early queue. Would love to be able to get a ti.

I'm hoping to wait out at my local microcenter overnight. It's a smaller location so I'm hoping less people show up.

I understand where EVGA is coming from, though. That if someone is purchasing their products more often (and buying them new), they deserve an easier path to elite status.
Kinda wish I'd bought cards new rather than b-stock in the past---but commenting is fun anyway.

I have a feeling that I'll be using my 1080ti until the 4080ti releases.  Maybe I'll be able to get a 3080ti then.

Just tossing this out there. In as long as I can remember, there was always a keynote for a higher end card release.

3080/3090:
Announced Keynote: Aug 11, 2020
Keynote: Sept 1, 2020
Release: Sept 17/24th, 2020.

They just had a Keynote April 12th, (for GTC?) originally planed since February 05, 2021. (Possibly earlier).
There is no Keynote currently planned that I know of (and I haven't looked that closely, so very may have missed it) for May.
That makes me sketch on clickbait for 3080 ti news links at the moment.

surely those bots can't get in the queue when it opens for elite members only can they? So you should have a chance.

Fortunately, lots of MCs near me, so might be able to get one. Competition is still stupid fierce with people still lining up a full day beforehand though. Wonder how tough it'll really be to get since it'll be pricier. 3090s seem a fair bit easier to get than 3080s.

If you consider that a new card. It's same specs as 2080 with better memory. The 3080 ti isn't a 3080 with upgraded memory.
Yet even still, the 2080 super did get a teaser trailer in May 23, 2019 for a July 23, 2019 release. O.o

I didn't see Walidnsu's date, I took 26th off Videocardz.com. But I'd lean more towards that day like I said. I dunno I'm not on top of the rumors lately.
