Looks like I'm in the same boat as you guys.  This is stupid if cards have to be RMA'd just for a simple update.

Also what does it say when you try to flash the MCU according to the faq post? Device not supported?

First time, it flashed just fine.  Anytime after that, "Device not supported".  Which is weird because X1 still recognizes it as a Ti FTW3.

So even after you flashed it first time the red led are all still on?
 

Yup.  Even tried turning the system off, unplugging the PSU, held power button for 30 secs, and even removed card from the rig.  Still there.  Thinking of disconnecting the middle fan header until I can figure this out for my sanity.

Was the fault first came on due to PX1 tried to flash the firmware but somehow failed?

That's the weird part.  It didn't fault on the first time.  I didn't notice the red lights until after the issues were already present.  The GPU is mounted vertically and the lights were hidden behind the cables.

I just bought a RTX 2080 FTW 3 and by installing the latest version of Precision X1 my card is illuminated by 3 red LEDS and the middle fan that turns very loud. I tried to patch the MCU, without success.
Help me please.

I also get the 3 red lights but only after i have had my pc unplugged, shutting it down and then restarting it turns them off.

Strangely today when I turn on my PC I don’t have the three leds on. Will they still go to the RMA if I send them?

Also its some time from release of 2080ti/2080 FTW . I hope that EVGA just find solution to fix that issue in "normal" way by software at user PC :) not by RMA and sending card to manufacturer. Its worth to ask customer service for solution. In my case they respond quick and with solid information :)

what I don’t understand is that it doesn’t do it all the time. I feel like it’s the lottery.
That’s why I wonder if sending the card and he doesn’t see it by testing it I’d be a little stupid...

So 3red lights its random? Can you check pc with different PSU? and PSU you have anyway :)

Today by turning on PC everything works perfectly. But last night when turning it on, the acronym "RTX 2080 was not lit, the middle fan was turning strong and the 3 red leds lights on.
I’ll see if it remakes it. Otherwise I’d have to do an RMA

Maybe start with mail to customer service with description of issue. And check PSU. If I good remember faulty PSU or to weak also can make this issue (ofc if I good remember:P)

Ok thanks. So 750W it's to short for use a 2080 FTW ?

I couldn't actually find anything that described what they're purpose is, mind pointing me to it?

3 red lights are information to user that card is ready to update firmware. When Evga software is installing, firmware is updated but warning about that is (for me) not enough visible. So lots of ppl just click next next next ok... and if any other program is running in background (program what using graphics) card can just stuck in firmware update state.

It's bull !! You buy a card that costs 900€ and because of a bad software that at the present time is still not updated to avoid this problem becomes a GTX 560. WTH EVGA ??
I had a 970 then a 1060 at EVGA but now, finished!  the last will be a 2080
 

It's not a bull :) Software itself its fine. User dont need to install EVGA Precision X1 :) and if they do, they need to read what is on screen :) I installed X1 for it information section (temps, fan speeds etc) My fault was ( as 99.99% users ;) ) next,next, next... ok. And I don't read what software will do, exactly that will update firmware on my GPU. To be sure, I just check EVGA website with X1, still no information that X1 Precision its changing firmware :) 
Great card - yes. Great 3 fan cooling system - yes. Bad marketing of software from EVGA - definitely yes. 
All luck EVGA customer service accept RMA for 3 red lights without problems :)  
 
And stx34 - card working with this same power as normal card, no matter red light or not :) Just sound of starting jet from pc case is problematic :)

Hi I bought two of these 2080ti FTW3's and only one of them works. The other has this led issue. When using just the one with the issue, I cannot get past the "press del to enter bios screen" because my keyboard stops working and the screen doesnt go away. When I use the one that works, everything is fine. When I insert the one with the issues in the second slot and run them together, same issue. 
I've been in email contact with customer support but not getting anywhere right now. They seem to not be able to understand that I am having issues with only one. I need to get them on the phone i guess.

I know its loooong shot buy try this:
Ask you friends who have ps2 keyboard/mouse connector on motherboard. Power PC with connected PS2 keyboard and check do GPU have still this same issue. 
 
Also - what happen when you use "faulty" GPU in second slot and good one in first? 
And for customer service - just "remove" working card from description of issue :D - you have ONE card with red light issue, when you insert ONE card to PC he is going to "press del to enter bios screen", etc :) To many variables in case make solution hard to find. So remove working parts, and focus of faulty. :) 

Same issue. Turn pc on and randomly get fans on 2080 ti ftw3 spinning at max speed. Card is 3 days old!!!
