Are you saying that the batch file part of the flashing didn't work? for me it only works when I shut down most of the taskbar hidden icon apps, run the batch file as administrator and manually uninstall both precision XOC and X1 and physically deleted the folders from program files. I haven't installed precision X1 yet , XOC will do for now, as I'm just happy to have the fans and LEDs at default settings for now and I wouldn't mind X1 coming out of beta first.

Correct, im not sure if the problem does lie with PX1 itself or its a hardware issue as the problem occurs on initial boot and stays that way until rebooted. None the less im sure EVGA is working on getting a solution out and figure out the cause. I just dont think we as the consumer should be having to do all these updates and flashes for something that was meant to come with very little issues.

Update on my two fan issue - forcing the MCU update did end up making 3 fans show up in X1 now, but precision crashes every time I try to go to the fan speed page. I've uninstalled and reinstalled (with deleting the evga folder) and it still crashes every time.

Well at least things got better.  Slapped in my old 1080 ti and it triggered the Nvidia drives and control panel, worked fine.  Swapped the good FTW3 back in and it worked.   But still problems with the card that showed the initial issue.

The "working" card I was able to update the hex file.  The card with the 3 lights and fan issues, still showing device not supported.  Precision X1 still won't update it, flash tool won't work.

About to try the 3.5.3 beta.  If that doesn't work, time for an RMA.

No dice on the PX1 update.   Still the same issue.   Is the E202 firmware update still the current one?

Wow, new PX1 3.5.3 crashes when you try to go to the fan speed temp adjustments.   What a joke.

Make sure you do a "clean install"
- by removing any leftovers after uninstalling X1,
- turn all Software off while installing (including Security Software.. go offline first)
Make sure Fast Startup is turned Off in Windows 10

For those experiencing the issue where sometimes only 2 fans are showing, please try this PX1 version:

https://www.evga.com/EVGA/GeneralDownloading.aspx?file=EVGA_Precision_X1_0.3.5.3_BETA.exe

Tried this and other troubleshooting advice and it's still only showing two fans.

Can you try uninstall, then delete gpuinfo.bin file in the directory, then reinstall.

Is there a way to confirm if this is a hardware issue or a software issue?

I'd love to know that also. I've had numerous issues with my FTW3 that I didn't experience with an XC Ultra in the same system. I know PX1 is still broken, but the fact that I can't complete a timespy run of any kind is sort of concerning, among other things.

Did you try a power flush?
Shut down system.
Unplug power supply
Hold power button in on computer for 30 seconds.
Power system back up and see if you get your third fan back.

It did this to me several days ago and the above got it back for me. Have not had the issue since.

I had this issue recently. To fix it click the Default button and then the custom fan curve page shows up.

I get the same thing. My card was working fine since I have had it, until I installed the X1 software. It said it was updating the ICX firmware, it failed and now I have the same as others, 2 fans showing, no LEDs,  and the 3 red lights by the power plug. This is regardless of either bios I run on my 2080TI FTW3. I tried playing a game with the OSD on, and it showed me only getting 41 FPS. I am now wondering if this software has broken my card. I as others have stated get an error saying device not supported if I try to run the E202 firmware update.

I don't think the card is broken. I tried hitman 2 at 4k and had more than 100 fps with nice temps. I think the problem is the software that dont let us control the fans and the leds :(

Got a mail from EVGA support and said me to Follow these steps to fix the fan 100% red led issue:
  • Shut down your PC
  • Switch the BIOS to SLAVE on your card
  • Turn your PC back on and run the 2080Ti_FTW3_E202 / flashtool
  • Once it finishes updating then shut down and change the BIOS back to MASTER then test

It didn't work. Still says “this device is not supported!”

Yeah I was hoping swapping the bios would work as well, except I started the other way. I was already on OC, and tried going back to Normal and the issue is across both bios.

You can see in this video my problem:

I had this happen to me and it was my own fault.

It can happen when applying the X1 LED flash, especially with the older X1 versions.

What happened on mine was I was not paying attention, and after it succeeded I pressed the flash again and it failed. It left the card in the same state as yours.

The fix was to use the MCU updater

https://www.evga.com/supp...mmain.aspx?faqid=59742

Start by uninstalling x1 then reboot.
Make sure to start with a 100% fresh boot.
Power down, pull the plug and press the power button to drain the power from the caps.

Reboot and kill any auto start apps to make sure nothing messes with the flash. Apply the MCU.

Reinstall the latest Verizon of X1

That fixed it for me.

The batch file needs to be run as administrator and since it is a batch file I extracted all the files into a folder on the root of C:

Don't know that it had an effect but it's worth a shot.

The other thing I did was used a local administrator account rather than a Microsoft linked account.

The batch file needs to be run as administrator and since it is a batch file I extracted all the files into a folder on the root of C:

Don't know that it had an effect but it's worth a shot.

The other thing I did was used a local administrator account rather than a Microsoft linked account.

I just tried it. It does not work. :(

Sorry. Am just tossing out my scenario and how I got it to work.

Wish it would have worked for you as well

I'm waiting for EVGA to send me a file that can fix that. Meanwhile, all help is welcome. Thank you!
