Can tell it's still 2020 one of my systems just keeps recycling on and off. Will work on it in the morning.  Update looks like a GPU, both of my folding system do the same thing with my 3080 installed.

Looks like a lot of people registered, is that more than usual?

Is there somewhere on that website that will show current/ongoing points? Found it - under the teams.

The 'Zero hour - Zero points' stats pull is about to hit in approx 4 minutes.  I'll set the initialization points from that pull and from here on out, it's CONTEST TIME!!  Good luck, everyone! Happy folding! And may ANY tech issues we run into end up being quickly, easily and probably MOST importantly, INEXPENSIVELY fixed! (Remember, your time is WORTH something as well!)

Kind of - but not On the hour

Answer from post 239 ---- about 10 min After the flat file are published

drougnor
As usual, the actual times the flat files from Folding @ Home publish drift a bit, but currently they are at half past the hour.  Publishing to the contest site should be no longer than 10 minutes away from whenever the flat file publishes, worst case scenario, so you may see a little drifting on the 'hourly' updates, but the points WILL be up as soon as they can be!

First hourly points are posted.  We'll start seeing contest totals updating as soon as troy8d finishes configuring the back end, but numbers are now climbing!  Let's crush some WUs!!!

Making sure troy has my folding name as Xavier_Zepherious   - NOT XAVIER_ZEPHERIOUS

seeing I had NO points when my 9pm and 12:00am said I did at EOC

PS: new rig going down for a bit to apply thermal paste
need to cool it - before re-applying paste - i had removed heatsink earlier - to re-adjust heatsink(rotate it - for tubing and wiring) - did not apply paste then

sooooo.... the thermal paste is not even -  and i have a few really hot cores and some really cool ones
new present should be here tomorrow too - later today i mean - hopefully

I missed a few range limits from copying an old set of sheets - We're back up to EVERYONE showing the points they're supposed to be, thankfully because I run a personal duplicate of the points history on my own box before shipping it up to the google sheets.  *laughs* Let's hear it for paranoia!!

My PPD estimates in F@H are significantly lower than I had anticipated. The 3080 is showing 4.5m and the 3090 is showing 4.4m.

What work units is everyone receiving? Anyone have flags running for Beta or Advanced?

I am trying advanced right now, but those work units seem to be running very slow. It has also been almost a year since the last time I folded, so that could be me having higher expectations than I should.

  • The 2020 Time Zone Challenge is now underway - fire up those rigs and fold some WUs!
  • Unfortunately, the following individuals have been removed from the contest because they have not folded any WUs for team 111065, despite multiple pleas from drougnor leading up to the start of the contest.  Without a record of them in the stats data file, drougnor is unable to track their stats:

    • TechnoSide2
    • Shizzle_Popped    Forum name jvandyne
  • 12/25/2020 is the last day to donate a prize to give away at the end of the contest!
  • The prize selection process will begin 12/26/2020 and the drawing will take place at the end of the contest.  Please be sure to check the forums regularly so you don't miss the instructions and your chance to select a prize!  (you can always find any important announcements in the first post of this thread).

me to getting 4.5m on my 3080 ftw 3.  i think there are some gold WU   that give you about 6.5m ppd.

4.5 mil/ppd seems pretty low for a 3080. I'm getting around 6 mil/ppd on the 13438 projects and into the 7 mil/ppd range with others.

You can try the following and see if it boosts the performance:

  • In Nvidia Control Panel, change the Power Management Mode to "Prefer maximum performance".
  • In Windows 10, turn on the feature for "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling". Right click on the desktop and choose Display Settings, on the left-hand options choose "Display", scroll down to Graphics settings and click it. On the new window, toggle the "Hardware=accelerated GPU scheduling" to On than restart the computer. Note: on my older CPU/Motherboard, this option does not exist even with Windows 10 installed.
  • In FAH Advanced Control, click on Configure, and go to the Expert tab. Add the following under Extra client options: Name = "next-unit-percentage", value = "100". This prevents the download of the next project until the previous one is completed. Since most peoples Internet connection should be able to download the project in seconds, it will stop you from losing points while the previous project is finishing the last 1%.

I notice that after doing the first two options, both of my 3080's increased performance but they do not clock back down when idle. The FTW3 Ultra used to clock to around 280 Mhz when idle but now stays at 1800 Mhz at idle and above 2000 when folding/gaming. For dedicated folding/gaming rigs, this shouldn't matter but if you plan on folding part-time, these may not be the best options as they will use more electricity.

Edit
I forgot to mention that on the 3080 FTW3 Ultra, I have a 1000/50 overclock (the 1000/100 crashed on Cyberpunk and was not fully stable for certain F&H projects) and a 1000/100 overclock on the 3080 XC3 Ultra.

It looks like my Reported PPD has been cleared out on the Individual and Eastern stats. It should be 13,100,000.

Just woke up, seems like mine stopped at some point during the night :(  Just started it back up.

PC must have crashed and restarted, everything is running ok now though. I've down clocked my GPU a little to keep the temps down in case that was the reason. Keeping it at ~1800MHz now which is ~68C. The folding client got bigger work units this morning than it was running when I went to sleep last night, don't know if that's normal. Also noticed my m.2 drive is sitting around 50C... significantly warmer than usual, but apparently well within spec.
