Hi

I've been researching my issue and all the post about this are old and unanswered.

I have a XP1 Pro and it works great on everything except my PS3. It has the latest firmware and I have the RGB software installed. HDCP is turned off in the software's settings and I don't see the HDCP error message. Instead what I get is a pure black screen. Not "no picture", but just black. Even the TV I have as the passthrough output is just a black screen.

I also have a PS2-HDMI adapter (Portta brand) that worked on my previous capture card, but the XP1 Pro won't see any output from it.

Does anyone have any answer for either of these at all?

Dear DesRagnell,

Welcome to the Forums!  Unfortunately, it looks like most standard PS3 units have HDCP always on and you cannot turn it off.  If you search online for PS3 and turning off HDCP you can find other posts about this and some people say that there may be some 3rd party devices to try and bypass this, but we are unable to support these options.

I am sorry for the bad news as it does not look like the PS3 will be compatible with the XR1 by default due to HDCP.

That's unfortunate, since I really like the product. Shame the HDCP option in the software doesn't work as advertised.

I got around the issue by getting a HDMI splitter, so I'll keep using the XP1 Pro. Thank you for the response.
