Also, did you add a 980 or something, how did you break 1mil points in a day?

I'm guessing it's a beefy OC with the water cooling that causing them to punch above their weight class with 450k++ PPD each? I'm getting 350k at best per card.

looks like MOP will come in second place in about a half a day, then Eastern three days later.

Quick question, who's sticking around and folding for the 3 bil month goal as well? ( or if you always fold, folding "extra" for it)

OCing is covered by warranty, at least for EVGA, not 100% sure how much you can do with other brands, but I think as long as you don't do stuff like a hardware mod to bypass the max voltage limit or something like that it's covered.

Thanks to incredibly generous donations by our folding community members (and EVGA) we have the luxury of having more prizes to give away than eligible contestants!    Punchy has informed me that so far most people are making limited selections - which is a good thing to only select prizes that you will value and use.  So anyone that has picked a solid mix of popular prizes along with some of the less popular prizes should find themselves walking away with something at the end of the contest.

The question I would like some feedback on is what do we want to do with prizes that are unpicked after being run through the prize selection tool?  Do we save them for the next contest?  Do we want to give them away?  If so how?

This is an issue we've never encountered before, so any input the community has would be appreciated (especially if you have donated something).

I would say, once all are picked and used, have the ones that didn't get their selection repick, if possible, or pass. If the rest of the gifts are still available, have the original winners pick from the remaining lot after all users have been given a chance to pick in the initial round.

Yes, some will get two prizes, but so is the choice of life.

One thing I want to point out, there is 10 shirt and lanyard condo's total from EVGA. So, that helps for those that pick that selection.

Well one, encourage all those that passed to give it another go and select something small if they want, then maybe have a "round 2" where more prizes are given out... (IE you could win more than one prize)

Or we could do something for those that continue to fold for the 3 billion point month? a second contest for extra prizes?, granted if the prizes are used in any way other than mentioned when they were first donated I think it'd be proper to get permission from the donors to use it in whatever secondary use that we might decide on (though I don't really expect objections, it would be a polite thing to do I think)

I just selected more steam games to broaden the prizes I am eligible for.

I like what z999 mentioned with holding the second set for those that continue to 3b.

What do we do if the prizes we have selected are no longer available?

We process the individual "pick lists" in the order of the drawing that troy will do at the end.  If we get to someone's turn and all the prizes in their list are already gone, it's treated as a "pass", no prize is assigned, and we move on to the next person.

Isn't that what the purpose of the second round that we're discussing right now is for? The way the prize picker is set up, if all the prizes are gone that you selected you said you would pass on all the others. That's what the first column states in the prize picker, right?

So, you're saying I should wait until the second round when there are even less prizes that I might want or need?

The whole point of the prize picker tool is that you make ALL your preferences known before the process starts.  That way, we can instantly figure out who gets what prizes.  It's an automated process that doesn't involve the overhead of PMs.

I don't know how to explain this any more clearly.  Put ALL the things that you want in the pick list, and leave things that you don't want in the pass/available column so someone else might get them.

If we go with your idea, then we end up waiting days or weeks before all the prizes get distributed, because that's how long it takes for people to respond to PMs when they are done sequentially and each is dependent on the previous.

What do we do if the prizes we have selected are no longer available?

Nothing.  The process is automated and requires no additional input after you have made your initial selection of prizes.  If all the prizes you have selected are no longer available then that is a combination of bad luck (bad random draw in the pick order) and not selecting a large and diverse set of prizes that interests you.  The former you have no control over, the latter is on you.  There are enough prizes for everyone to get something, however, if you only select the most popular prizes (and get a bad draw in pick order) there is a chance you will end up winning nothing.

Punchy's prize selection tool makes this process relatively painless and incredibly efficient compared to other methods.  After the selection order has been determined by a random drawing, Punchy's tool will give you the highest ranking prize on your list that is still remaining in the pool of available prizes.  This is entirely automated and requires no additional action on your part.
