355.60 Last Stable Driver?

Has anyone had issues with the newer drivers?  My cards will go nuts after a while Folding a Core 21 with any drivers newer than that.  I always tell the driver upgrades to do a clean install also.  Just wondering if anyone else is having the issue.

    Read through our TZC thread and there are many problems. For me, I've been running 350.05 on a GTX 970 without a hiccup for a long time. Sorry I can't be of more help.

    My Windows rig is on 358.87 with no issues.  One 980ti.

    355.82 here with only a seldom failed Core x21 WU. I'm too old and too lazy to change these drivers right now. These are the last version I have been able to get any kind of stable gaming performance from.


    I'm back on 355.82 here also, I was gonna wait to revert, considering the possibility of another release any minute, not that I expect anything to change, but really surprised we didn't already see a Fallout 4 game ready driver yet.

    Ok will check in on it tonight, how have you been?  Cancer still in remission for me.  Also my daughter that had Hodgkins at 13 and why I got my team going is now 20, married and just had a grandson for me 3 weeks ago.  So things are going pretty good.  My little team has worked their way up to 32 on Folding.  Not bad for 6-7 guys.

    Check my post on the 2015 Time Zone Challenge about this problem.


    I did this and lost over 150,000 Credits on P9208
    But what is done is done, I only had two hours left out of 9 Hours that it needs to run.
    Glad I left the other one complete.

    Removed Driver 353.62 and installed Driver 347.88 and I did not Drop any Running Projects as I did when I install Driver 353.62.
    Granted that for the 2015 TZC I may drop off the charts for a day or two.

    Depends on work unit, GPU and OS. With Maxwell and core 21 GrandPa had a nice post about reducing the memory clock. My driver is 358.91 win 10 and GTX 980 SC.     Down Clocking the Memory did not work for me.
    I did give this a go 1st.
    The only Core 21 Project that I have errors on are P9704 (UNKNOWN_ENUM) No Other. HFM
     
    Under Driver 353.62 I was seeing problems on Core 21 P9209 on my GTX 980 Hybrid Rig It is NOT a problem under Driver 347.88.
    I do see this on P9209 but it will complete and not Error out like P9704 is doing.

    Did you set the GPU Clock or the Memory?
    So you have NO Errors or issues on any Rig at All?
    Are all your GPU's GTX 980 or 970?

    NO Errors on any P9704 Core 21 Projects. For P9704 Driver 347.88 works fine.

    I will keep a watch out for a p9704 work unit to show up on one of my computers and when it does will keep a close eye on it and let you know the results.

    I didn't have a problem one with the 353.62 driver have not had one error or lost work unit since installing it.
    My ppd is going back up as well.


    Even on P9704 ? Are you using HFM ?


    don't even know what HFM is.

    I have a P9704 folding bcavnaugh it is at 37% with no problems so far I will keep a close eye on it and update on results.
    OK finished the P 9704 with no problem at all on driver 353.62.
     
    I blame all of this on poor written Project Code and that is the end of this.


    Did you set the GPU Clock or the Memory?
    So you have NO Errors or issues on any Rig at All?
    Are all your GPU's GTX 980 or 970?


    All of my GPUs are OC to 1500 MHZ two are EVGA Titan X Hydro Coppers and four of them are EVGA 980 Hydro Coppers, did not change the memory settings at all.
    They just folded like crazy now to day my points are lower and I don't understand why no failed work units.

    NO Errors on any P9704 Core 21 Projects. For P9704 Driver 347.88 works fine.
     
    I blame all of this on poor written Project Code and that is the end of this. 


    You can blame it on poorly written code if you wish but then you have to explain why Fermi and Kepler have no problem with them. Also you will need to explain why many people get the Bad States to completely quit by lowering the memory speed. Then you will also need to explain why Nvidia chose to force Maxwell cards to run in P2 state  which lowers the memory speed to 6008Mhz when running compute software, but Fermi and Kepler run in P0 state which does not lower the memory speed. Once you get those explained I have many more you can explain.
     
    The amount you need to lower the memory speed varies from card to card and are you sure you are lowering the P2 memory speed and not the P0 memory speed. Below is an example of what my cards require. All of them are running 358.50 but they have been tested on all the drivers since 347.88 and all but 1 card do not get any Bad States on all the drivers.
     
    #1 EVGA GTX 980 Classified, Core Clock 1460Mhz, Memory 2948Mhz = 0 Bad states or slowdowns in the last 200+ WU's
    #2 EVGA GTX 980 Classified, Core Clock 1440Mhz, Memory 2930Mhz = 0 Bad states or slowdowns in the last 200+ WU's
    #3 EVGA GTX 980 Classified, Core Clock 1398Mhz, Memory 2601Mhz = 20 Bad states or slowdowns in the last 200+ WU's
     
    I can not run the above cards on Linux because they get too many bad states which was the same on Windows until I lowered the memory. The cards below have never had a Bad state and run on both Windows and Linux.
     
    #4 EVGA 770 Classified (Linux 346.96 driver) never had a bad state
    #5 MSI Lightning GTX 680 Windows never had a bad state
    #6 ASUS Matrix GTX680 (Linux 346.96 driver) never had a bad state
     
    The 2 cards below I am testing on Linux and I have had little success with getting rid of Bad states. But I do have hope I am working my way through drivers. It might help if some of you went to my post at the NVidia devolipers forum and added a comment or 2.  https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/888789/linux/problem-with-memory-speed-on-gtx-9xx-when-running-compute-software/  although it is on the third page now so they may not pay any attention to the request.

    #8 EVGA GTX 970 SC+ Hell I get so many bad states on this card I can not count them, I am damn lucky to get one to complete, I have got 2 WU's to complete today by installing the 358.09 Beta Linux driver and under clocking the card I have not had any Bad States since installing them but I have had allot of slow downs. I am currently at -125 on the core clock and working my way down.
