So i have noticed some odd things happening with my system. Whenever I start my system and get to the desktop there is a certain point where the system just hangs for 2 seconds every time on the dot, this would happen if I stayed at the login screen as well.

I have tried removing all pcie and usb devices to troubleshoot and it would still do it. Reformatted twice just to make sure as well. Using the IGPU, I did not get this issue at all and I figured it might be caused by the GPU. I move the GPU to my second slot and it would still create this issue.  Finally, I noticed that it would not do this when the card's drivers are not installed but once it is, on any pcie slot, it would start the behavior again.
I have tested my CPU and memory over the next few days and all of them pass stress test and memtest, and all that jazz. So I am left with only one part that I am suspicious of.

Prior to this I noticed random lines that appear at the corner of my eye but its really hard to recreate. 3pixel high and 2 inch long green or red lines, just one that would flash quickly. I am unsure if this is because my GPU is the issue but Playing games and stress testing doesnt bring out any of the issues, cept one or two stutters.

Should I RMA this card? I do not have another system to test, but this is practically a new system since i built this last week

EDIT: From 2nd thread I made
So I recently had to RMA my 1080ti ftw3 and i got it back and its worse in terms of stability. It doesnt do this instantly it takes about 5-10 minutes before it shows the images. I tried everything:

-Fresh install
-Clean Drivers (DDU)
-Swapped PSU
-Old system ( i7 4970k)
-Stock MOBO settings, No XMP
-Different PCI slot within new build.
-Memtest86+ for 10 hours
-AIda64 CPU stress with memory for 7 hours
-Realbench for 16 hours Stress test
-Prime95 for 10 hours
-Heaven Benchmark

The only item that showed no issue was using my old system for my GPU gave no issues. So is the motherboard defective?
My old card while unstable did last the whole day on heaven benchmark but this did not last more than 10 minutes.

Have you tried older nvidia drivers just encase it's them? Use ddu to remove all nvidia drivers first so there's no conflict. https://www.wagnardsoft.c...opic.php?f=5&t=925

Try 388.69 for kicks.. though it might be evga's pxoc as well since that lags opening.. takes like 6-7 secs to open on boot up.

Anything reported in your Windows Event Viewer?

    Latest BIOS for motherboard?

What about booting into safe mode?

I had something similar and it was my power supply failing.  Do you have second one to test?

There's also latency testing software that might reveal the offender.

I used DDU on a fresh install of windows and prevented it from automatically installing and I get the same issue.

Latest bios yes. Safemode does not do it since it does not use the driver. My powersupply is a month old and i would think every other component would be unstable if it was the case.  Games run just fine seldom a few stutters from gsync but thats it.

Come to think of it I think I see the same pause your talking about but it's usually while waiting for pxoc to launch.. if I close it and reopen it the same pause will happen.. it's the damn pxoc!

Uninstall evga pxoc and see if you get the same problem.

I noticed this last night as I was constantly opening and closing pxoc as I was following s guide on how to get the damn led sync to work on my ftw3 since I'm not using the cooler anymore that failed.

Also after windows 10 fall update it now will download new vga drivers regardless of what ddu does which seems to be broken now.

    Edome

To disable driver updates in Windows Update, use the Option Three here (it adds the same registry value as Option Four, which you can use also if you don't have Win 10 Pro):

There could be literally dozens of different things happening. For one, right about the time you're describing the delay is when windows loads drivers, the desktop display driver, whatever else you may have auto start during boot.  That flash you're seeing is the GPU switching modes from the boot resolution and color depth to whatever your desktop is set at as the driver loads. Nothing you've described seems abnormal or something I've not seem myself.

Yes they should be watching the taskbar tray and watch what program loads after the system hang.. that right there would pin point it.

Corsair mice/keyboards are notorious for this even without using their software. It's about 5 seconds after you see the desktop the mouse and keyboard load their saved internal profiles even if you're using the default settings. I've gotten used to it. It doesn't happen resuming.  There's all sorts of stuff, hundreds of megabytes of OS and drivers loading.

I just had something bizarre happen

I decided to check out dolby access on windows 10 and as soon as i check one of their demo videos, the system starts to hang and slow down and the screen gets stuck and nothing is responsive except for the mouse but the video continues playing and system sounds still play.

I go and restart my pc and as soon as it boots and hits the windows loading, the screen loses signal and I cant see anything. I can tell the windows is still loading based on the mouse and keyboard reacting.

I check the event logs and this shows up

The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
    \Device\Video3
    1d6e(35f8) 00000000 00000000
the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table

After turning off the pc and turning ti back on about 2 times, it reverted back to normal.

Do you have any kind of GPU overclocking utilities installed?

Gold Leader had random black screens with the same nvlddmkm event viewer a week ago
Here is a link to what he did to fix it and what they thought was going on (edited at the https and aspx for the fact this is a new forum account) https ://forums.evga.com/Random-Blackscreens-with-EVGA-GTX-1080-FTW2-m2730277. aspx

SO today i had multiple driver crashes even on a clean install using DDU , clicking on OBS window, regardless if gsync is on or not causes the driver to crash and i get a no signal output on one of my monitors sometimes both. I think the card needs to be RMA, what do you guys think?

sounds like it to me. If you bought the card from another site I'd recommend seeing g what they can do as it may save you shipping. But if not EVGA is easy to work with and with in 30 days of purchase you get a brand new one. I start a support ticket and give them as much info as possible and see what they think since evga decides in the end. if your place of purchase wants shipping or is really slow evga may be the better option

Make sure to set pcie power management in your power profile to off and not moderate or maximum savings. If you run max perofmrnace mode this shouldn't affect you but worth a look. But I doubt it would cause the display crashes
