Yeah, I've seen one or two people mention they started their step up on May 10th.  What about everyone else that's gotten to step 2?  Anyone after May 10th?

May 11th: Had my part switched to the SC Black (Thanks, EVGA!)
May 22nd: Went through steps 2-5 all in a couple hours.

I'm going from 1080FTW -> 1080FTW ICX -> 1080ti SC

They just received my 1080FTW, and now are now shipping out my 1080FTW ICX and auto registered the product to my profile.  I want to immediately start the 1080ti SC step up..do i have to wait for the package to start the process - so i can upload the invoice?

I cant find the invoice digitally..

Hopefully it arrives tomorrow.

I applied to the Black SC step-up on the 15th (May), and no word yet, I'm on step one. But hearing that people are getting theirs now has me excited!

The invoice is automatically attached to your account by EVGA the same way as your iCX card when auto-registered.
So you can start the step-up process today. I guess by the time you get approved to step 2, you'll have received your card.

Paid for my step up last night but still yet to have confirmation email for payment confirmation and RMA details. When I did the icx upgrade this came through pretty much instantly. I'm keen to get my 1070 returned. Anybody else had this issue?

The invoice is automatically attached to your account by EVGA the same way as your iCX card when auto-registered.

Great thanks -there was actually a problem with my profile and i couldnt start the step up.  Support was able to clear it up and im on step 1 atm, with the 1080FTW2 arriving today.  It cost $53 to ship the 1080ti black to Canada :P total $93USD for step-up + shipping (estimated)

Total for 1080FTW -> 1080FTW2 -> 1080ti SC Black is:
  1. $99 for FTW -> FTW ICX upgrade
  2. $30 to ship FTW to EVGA (from Canada)
  3. $93 for FTW ICX -> 1080ti SC Black
  4. $30 to ship FTW2 to EVGA
Total: $252USD
Ouch - it may have been cheaper to sell my 1080FTW and buy the 1080ti SC outright.

I'm in the same boat, q2klepto. I applied on the 15th with no word yet and I'm having second thoughts about the total cost. I am Canadian as well, but I don't think that it would have been cheaper if you had sold your 1080 FTW for the 1080 ti. Here is my cost breakdown:

                          CAN (Current XE conversion rate)
     New Product - $970.44
Original Product - $692.74 (1080 FTW on sale)
   Step-Up Cost - $277.74
  Shipping Cost - $55.46
                 Tax - $0.00
       Total Cost - $333.20

That is what my EVGA profile says, but this is what it will end up being:

         Total Cost - $333.20
   Local ON taxes - 13%
Shipping to evga - $30
       Actual Cost - $406.51 (Estimated)

If I had bought the 1080 ti card from Amazon instead of my 1080 FTW (Wasn't announced yet but yolo), it would have been about the same price:

Current 'Mike's Computers' on Amazon.ca after taxes - $1189.87
                 My step-up with my price paid 1080 FTW - $1206.40
                                                             Difference - $16.53

Personally I love how EVGA has made the end cost work out to be almost the same as the new card, as that's how the step-up program is supposed to work. Although it looks like you paid another $30 for shipping your first card back, and I have to pay $16.53. I could really use the 1080 ti, though $406.51 CAN for only a 25-30% performance increase is hard to justify, though that's on Nvidia's end.

I'm still debating whether to cancel the Step-Up process or not as I love my 1080 FTW, it's the most beautiful card I've ever owned, and the 1080 ti Black SC isn't the prettiest...

Still waiting in queue....

 Update 5-25-2017
I see the GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition cards
have been in stock for a few days now and still no email from EVGA for my stepup availability.
I'm NOT complaining... just wondering why the cards in stock and not available for stepup?
Is it an allocation thing??
certain % for retail and another percentage for stepup??
