Can i do a step-up from my ftw3 to the kingpin? Or is there any possibility?

Nope. These custom boards are never in the step up.  Only reference.

That sucks because i had to wait 3 more weeks for a new FTW3 because my current one is DOA. I receive my new one tomorrow and now i am unable to return it because it's past the 2 weeks of return.

Jacobs post clearly showed temps of 20 degrees for gpu core. That sure as heck ain't on air. Trust certain websites to not fact check for jack. That sure is notorious for half-baked rumour reporting and now they can't even get facts straight.

Yeah, just read the article myself. Nowhere in his tweet does it say that card is running on air. Precision X istn't even listing rpm of fans, sure that could be because of a beta build of the software but 20c och gpu core and 18c on the memory with that insane overlocking on air? I don't think so...

Sounds like it's being run on a chiller of some sort.  I'd think if it was on LN2 it would be much cooler sub-ambient temps.  Of course unless they're running this card in a 5c-10c ambient room temp.

WCCFTech has the worst reputation, but I think the factory 2025MHz boost is possible. Of course we won't know for sure until we see the official specs, but today it is all about hype!

Edit: Jayztwocents interview with Kingpin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOrtSRip0bg
They talk about what he does to design the card and the 2025MHz overclock. He said the 2025MHz are guaranteed, but the card does not ship with it enabled. So maybe you just need to change the card switch to overclock mode or maybe you need to play with PXOC to get it.
Kingpin also says that he has seen 2150MHz on air with that card.

I would love to see someone running 20c on air cooling.. nowhere did jacob state air cooling, he says nice temps and overclocking. Wccftech is blowing smoke to force a lie.

So, what cooler was used, and since you can see a +500 offset, that means the clocks comes in at 1904 boost clock before manual overclocking.. not 2025. If he says it doesnt ship with it, then you will have to apply a 121 mhz offset yourself, which isnt bad at all. I can see 2150 on air happening, but not often, since he said the 980 kpe would do 1600, and it didnt do that except on a select few cards.

This is amazing hardware, I class no doubt.
Guys what you like more Hybrid SC2 or K|NGP|N?
K|NGP|N is beast but SC2 Hybrid is practical and cool for gaming.

Kingpin claimed 2150 Mhz as an AVERAGE  on air based on what he has seen . So it means that those cards can go as low as 2025Mhz  and maybe as high as 2,2Ghz - 2,3Gz  on air .

Really? That's far faster GPU than Titan Xp.
She will be very expensive, I would be satisfied with any GTX1080Ti.
I hope AMD Vega will correct price little because I should upgrade GPU as soon as possible.

Those numbers are made with the GPU under LN2

lets be honest , how much more is the Kingpin gonna overclock and is it worth the money and trouble of water cooling it vs how many FPS you get .

Are you referring to core clocks or the temps? Because 20c isn't nearly cold enough for LN2 and if you are referring to the 2.15Ghz that kingpin stated he was directly asked what he found possible on air. He also said it under ideal conditions in their lab. He said in a close case it is unlikely to get that same kinda temp unless you are cooling your entire case.

Jump to the 2:30 mark here if you are talking about the core clocks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOrtSRip0bg&t

If you have to ask if something is worth it the answer is no. Worth is different to every person.

He said he's seen 2150MHz+ on air in conditions like his lab (where it's in a open air bench and obviously full time air conditioned to who knows what temps and of course silicon lottery)  He's wearing a sweatshirt with the arms pulled up in Jayz video so I would imagine 60F.  No where did he say 2150MHz is an average on air.

Looking forward to seeing what people can do with the cards for sure, but also...  Counting the days till the forums are flooded with people asking about RMA because their Kingpin doesn't hit 2150MHz.

If you're an extreme overclocker this is the card to get.

If you're anyone else it isn't necessary.

I have nothing against the kingping line of cards, except peoples unrealistic expectations and subsequent let down.

This is a highly specialized product designed for one specific purpose, and it should be used for that purpose...... Everyone that runs around saying " I've got the best card because I paid more for it. " or whatever are shameful.

Probably not as much as +121MHz because gpu boost 3.0 will do some of the work for you. That's why I'm thinking that the secondary bios for 2025MHz is an option.

That was with gpuboost 3.0. So, 1904 stands after gpu boost 3.0 for that card. Then +500 for 2404.

Every card will react differently, that is for sure

Look at that cool PCB, really interesting and unique peace of hardware.
This is not only for LN2, collectionars love this type of GPU to use, not normal commercial versions.
Even PIN connectors are designed friendly for cable management inside case, clean view on whole GPU.
That's very good decision from EVGA. I love one more thing, EVGA logo above PCI-E connector....

But I'm excited because FTW3 Hybrid as well.

As a fun fact, they said that the card has leds that show the flow of power going from one component to another. I know it does not change anything in performance, but it has to look awesome.

Jay asks how fast he's seen them clocked and Kingpin responded he seen some hit 2150mhz. He then iterates that it has to stay cool, not just inside a stuffy case in the summer and points out his open air test bench in an air conditioned room.

Honestly I'm wondering if you're trying to decieve or really didn't catch the next 10 seconds of that vid.

What about the backplate... led traces to follow the power to its respective location sounds neat as well.

For those saying 2404 on air (wccf), that wasnt the case and wccftech is wrong, again, 2404 was an LN2 run.
