Hey guys,
will the release of the kingpin 1080 affects the prices of the other 1080Ti cards or will it be more expensive than for example a FTW3?

It will most likely be more expensive. It won't affect the other 1080 ti prices.

So is there a point in getting a Kingpin edition then? (I don´t want to push the card to its limit, I just want to enjoy the power of the Ti model.)

Fact! That is by far the better option, and saves tons of money.

Kinda offtopic, but what is the max recommended voltage for the kingpin watercooled? Im planning to do a 3x 360 rad setup with cpu and gpu combined and i use an evga 1000w g2 supernova psu.

Intel Core i7 7700k @5.1Ghz 1.376v - MSI Z270 Gaming Carbon PRO - 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Corsair Vengeance PRO RGB

Corsair HX1000 - EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW3 2000/5505 @ 1v

No idea about voltage, the card isn't available to anyone that can answer that question. The only person that is known to have his hands on it actually helps create the card, and he isn't focused on max air or water voltages at this time.

Great, I will just get the FTW3. I like it better than the hybrid cards.

The XOC BIOS (not the kingpin one) comes with 1.12v out the box. I believe it goes up to 1.20 but havent tried it that high. The cards themselves are pretty overbuilt. Provided you can keep it cool you can put as much voltage as you want through it. Even on LN2 the effect of volts will be the same. It's the heat you need to worry about.

NVidia have said that a high voltage will reduce the lifespan of the GPU. By how much is anyones guess since NVidia need to play it safe and over estimate everything for legal reasons. 1080s are still running strong though so it cant reduce the lifespan by as much as NVidia are saying.

You think we will get news today on when it will be available in July.... Supposedly FTW3 Hybrid info coming out today, hoping to get more Kingpin info as well, just to make the best purchase decision!

I have a massive watercooling loop and I am considering just going to one card, instead of SLI, which prior was 4way SLI. I want the kingpin because I want the most performance out of my single card and might as well take advantage of the oversized loop it will be part of. We will see how crazy the price it when it launches.

Buy a regular 1080ti... the K|ngp|n isn't packing miracles in it's pcb. You may get a few extra FPS, but you'll likely wait another 3 to 4 weeks and get the pleasure of spending a few hundred dollars extra...

It is hard for me to not just pull the trigger on a couple Hydro Coppers right now. I want the Kingpin Card but like everyone is saying, it wont be a noticeable gain in performance. The Hydro Coppers are up right now for sale

I bought a cheap ($300) 980ti KPE before I knew better, impressive features (mems, controllers, HW/SW options, etc.), but totally wasted on me. Now I'm almost ready for hard mods and LN2, maybe in a year or so I'll pick up a used 1080ti KPE. The thought of dorking up a $1k card is too much, even for my standards. Anyone who knows what it takes to fully unlock (uncork) a pascal card, knows there's some real value in what this card offers.

I have the ln2 pots, a phase change, and all of the stuff I need, except the ln2 itself... and no time to use any of it.

EVGA has been silent so far. Vince just posted a picture on Facebook Yesterday, but that is all we have so far.

On that note, this gpu is at 2050, and 45c, and the fans are at 100% according to Precision X in the background.

I'll remind everyone again, here is Kingpin himself, and all of the 1080 Ti KINGPIN cards are guranteed to do 2050 Mhz out of the box via just selecting the OC bios, and with manual tuning they said most of them are hitting 2150+ Mhz on air cooling.

See here: https://www.youtube.com/w.ch?v=FOrtSRip0bg#t=2m19s

As far as I'm aware of, there's no other 1080 Ti made by anyone that can do these clocks stable on air, to date.

See the video I linked above. All 1080 Ti kingpin cards will do 2050 out of the box on air if we just select the OC bios.

In the past.. every time they have released Kingpin cards previously, they have all been only 1 version. There were aftermarket blocks for the 780 Ti Kingpin, and Jacob from EVGA has confirmed in this thread there will be a block for the 1080 Ti kingpin. To date.. EVGA has never sold a factory watercooled kingpin card. I suppose they -could- change and release one for the 1080 Ti kingpin, but it would be extremely unlikely.. given the previous kingpin cards not having one.
