I picked up the SWACS Tracker Hornet this weekend. Everyone in my outfit was getting super hornets, so I figured someone needed to bring some radar into the fray. 

That would probably come in handy for some hit and run pirate tactics !

Everything so far in this looks just awesome, I have a ship as well, so far very happy with where this is going.  Spend some time on the RSI site, there is a lot of stuff to read there, history, stories, tech specs, and so on, everything just gets me amped to play.

Freelancer, Super Hornet, and a 315p.  Might get an Aurora or rebuy an Avenger before the LTI ends.

Should have bought a hornet too... when i get some cash again..if i get cash again !

Pondered melting down everything to get one of the Idris-P that might come up, then sanity hit. No way I should melt down all my current ships for just one big one.

I read on wikipedia, that they are now developing the game around CryEngine 4.
This looks EPIC !!!
This game screams 3 monitor surround. If Nov 14' is the projected release date. We should have GM110 (GTX 900 series) cards by then.
That video in the original post, reminds me of that scene in 3D Mark 06 (Return to Proxycon) or something like that.
 
I think 2014 will be a huge leap in nex-gen games. One that we have not seen for a while. Especially with nex-gen consoles using x86 hardware.
Devs no longer have to make tough decisions on what platform to make a game for. PC to Console, or vice versa.

For the 3d-artistically-challenged could you explain the difference between skin and mesh?

It's more than just a skin though, it's the same mesh as the F7A. Where it's different is it doesn't come with the milspec equipment attached to it. It's the F7A shell but civvie equipment on it. I figure I'd get it. My Super Hornet will be reasonably rare looking with this option applied.

Like decommissioned military Hornet, with aftermarket parts. But still has the paint and body scheme.

I think i got this one.
Skin is the color and texture art that you see on the outside,  Mesh is like the wire frame that the skin lays over, and creates the form.

Yep, skin is just the texture draped over the geometry and the geometry is referred to as the mesh. Both things make up objects in a game. Sometimes people will change things up by custom skins but not alter the mesh. This upgrade is both a skin and mesh upgrade.
