I know exactly what you meant after squeezing 600mm worth of rad space and 12 casing fans into an ATX casing. Phil

nateman_doo After some exhausting CAD works here is a monoblock design. This is the sandwich portion that all the copper mates to:
Its still not finished, but you guys get the idea. Here is a more top down look at more of the internals:
Been at this most of the day and well into the wee hours of the night. Let me know what you guys think.
This could look amazing. EVGA X99 Micro 2 with Monoblock... Is it possible to be little thinner... and inner port should be little closer to the middle. Excellent idea. You see this guy build little mATX X99 RIG with X99 Micro 2. He choose and nice EVGA Platinum PSU and same black EVGA Sleeve Cables as me. PSU color and X99 Micro 2 fit together perfectly. Nice build... Only he should show us everything finished with graphic card and enabled PC...

Wouldn't be the worst idea to not bother WC-ing the chipset at all. It's like a 3W TDP part, putting a block on it is unneeded. Save cost and design effort. Although I'm guessing everyone interested is doing it for cosmetics anyways, since a single 8 pin CPU connector isn't going to be slamming in enough current to overheat passive cooled VRMs anyways. Also, general comment, monoblocks suck if you ever want to upgrade your CPU. BDW-E is going to be compatible with X99, and a separate CPU waterblock makes it a 15 minute job swapping in a 6950X vs. having to pull the entire mobo and drain the entire loop. Just something to keep in mind. Aesthetically it's cleaner looking.

I'd like a mono block but if its not possible then I would be ok with a 2 piece solution. I was looking at the ek monoblock for a diff board. looks to be tiered somehow, would this be something that can be done? ex:

Hey there, is it to late to join the party? I would love to have one of them blocks too! :) Not sure about the monoblock, would prefer two blocks but wouldn't say no to the monoblock either if it would be the only option.

I think that's not bad idea at all... Anonymous Guy recommendation. If Monoblock for X99 Micro 2 cover only CPU and VRM on motherboard, not chipset. This is monoblock for MSI Z170... only for X99 Micro 2 job could be easier because VRM is above CPU. Left and right side of block could be identical than.

It's bad because I don't know someone near me with machines to build CPU waterblock and GPU waterblock for me. Than I would much easier build custom loop. EVGA X99 series with waterblocks look perfect.

I am currently in the process of building a new computer and I was interested in the Micro 2 which I learned more about it smallformfactor.net which then led me here. Forgive me for asking the stupid questions but it's been about 7 years since the last time I build a desktop with Heatsink fan. So this is my first foray into the world of water cooling. If I were to commit to buying the Micro 2, I would like to use this waterblock but what other components would I need or if you guys could suggest. Or is this a bad idea for an immediate system builder? Thx

I would go and research up on the beginners for water cooling first before taking the plunge. Lots of great information that needs to be read.

sorry for dropping off the face of the earth. I was away for a short while. I will pick this back up tomorrow. I will focus on the dual block setup. In order to make this as inexpensive as possible I am going with the 2 block design. If there is enough interest I can do a "monoblock" for the CPU/VREG, and a separate chipset block, but again, costs go up.

EKWB design bunch of Monoblocks now, but all of them are only shadow of Monoblock for Rampage 4 Extreme Black and Rampage 5 Extreme. That's for me real Monoblock. I don't know for Maximus, but Maximus can't be as Rampage never. No such powerful server look as Rampage boards. Rampage 5 Extreme is king for 2014/2015 and maybe for 2016 if Black Edition not show up. Only bad thing is because customers need to remove ports cover with Extreme sign. She shine under light and look very nice. I think that part only have 1kg weight, VRM heatsink and port cover... It's very heavy board, maybe and more than should be.

Guys, those monoblocks are mainly for ATX boards with more real estate, which is a luxury in the case of the Micro 2. We can go on trying to work around those bottlenecks, and end up with a less than ideal and costly solution, or move on with something more realistic and practical. Phil

Why? Monoblock could look nice and on mATX boards and temperature of VRM and CPU will be low. If someone could cover and VRM with same part as CPU and only two fittings for CPU and VRM than he should think about Monoblock.

I am in for a mono block for just CPU and VRM, the chipset doesn't need cooled IMO. If the mono is on the table let me know. Or if you would offer just the VRM block and not the chipset. This board is too smashed together I dont see how you could even cool the chipset with SLI.

I am not sure why, but I haven't had my head screwed on right lately. I did a fit test with my other X99 Micro block, and it fits. 100%. Yes, that means that no further R&D is required. Tool plate is the same, coding is the same raw materials, everything. Such a relief. That does mean sadly that the mono-block design has been shelved. Shoot me PM's or email me for your paypal addresses and we can finally get this show on the road. I will have invoices out as I get your emails. I can get the blocks started this week as soon as deposits are in. I already have the raw materials order in my cart ready to hit the go button. My machine is also free. I green lighted this project around 2 months ago. I just finished setting my machine up to make these. I was just about to post a picture of the machine cleaned off and ready to go, and see how enthusiastic everyone was. Of the 10 people, one was never interested (that was my bad, i read a message wrong), & I have only heard back from 3. 2 of which have sold the board. I realize that it's taken awhile, but this isnt a primary source of income for me. It is a hobby. I do it for fun, & the community. This is somewhat discouraging. Just a lesson learned - Money up front. Not even going to do CAD designs without people financially committed. I am a man of my word, and when I commit to people, i stay the course. I will make blocks for those who still want them. As of this moment that is just 1 person.
