lmao OP sounds like you got a personal problem. Nvidia would be taking a loss at $500 pretty sure....

You bet I've got a problem.  I've been waiting 6+ months for a 3080 Ti and won't buy a gimped card.

I have 3 non LHR 3080s if you wanna trade me a 3080Ti

For all three?  Deal.

why are you waiting for 6 months for a card that had not been officially announced and might not have come out due to shortages?

Because I don't have a time machine and I think the 3090 is a poor value?

looking at how things are now base msrp with no shortage would likely have been 999-1100 usd with aibs being a bit higher than that  but with it i can see them raising the price to equal 3090 msrp on some aibs due to shortages so if a 3090 is a bad value at 1500 a 3080ti would be even worse

To be honest, at least it will perform better than a RTX 3060 if it was 500, however, demand will be hella high still for gamers. Even with the reduced hash rate, it will still perform well mining.

Yikes.  Glad I paid like $750 for my 3080 FTW3 Hybrid back in Dec.

If you don't want a "mining gimped card" I'll help you. since you seem to care more about it's mining performance than gaming performance I'll trade you one 3080 for your 3080ti.

I'm not saying you're wrong about not wanting a handicapped card but there's no chance it will ever go for 500 dollars.

Not so easy, supply is still low, yet demand is too high. The price is still gonna be high until the chip shortage ends. Then companies could make more cards at high rates.

Regardless of mining capabilities, we will not see prices drop until AMD kicks nvidia in the face with a GPU that can do ray tracing and rasterization better or as good as nvidia's top cards. Right now the 6900xt just barely touches the 3090 in rasterization but gets destroyed in ray tracing. Maybe next gen things could get spicier if AMD continues their major improvements. Because they have gotten a lot better, they just need to work on bringing the full package.

What really needs to be resolved is the rampant illogical consumerism.  There are more video cards being produced right now than ever before, but there still isn't enough to satisfy demand.  There's too many bored people with lives that are too cushy.  When people are installing a 3090 Kingpin in their HTPC because they don't know what to do with it, or are "accidentally" buying a 3090 Kingpin when they already have a 3090, you know that there is mental health problem in effect.  (both are examples from different users on this forum)
Until the addiction is corrected, the price will not correct.

No, the price won't be lowered at all. They will maintain the same value since only Ethereum mining will be affected by the LHR variants.

Gaming performance is better compared to what?  There is no non-LHR 3080Ti.
I have yet to hear anything that LHR will improve the gaming performance over non-LHR

Took it from this thread:  https://forums.evga.com/3080Ti-MSRP-is-absolutely-INSANE-m3314871.aspx
That said I'm hearing it could be fake which would be awesome, and even if it's not fake - this is also a reseller and it's still possible EVGA could have lower prices directly to customers.

Thanks for the reply.  It could be real for sure,...but I'm hoping it isn't.  That's a little steep by the time it converts to CAD (for Canadians like me) and the inevitable markup.  Fingers crossed.

Did I mention I'm mad?  I've been waiting 6 months for this card and it's a total ripoff at ~$1500 (taxed/shipped) , even in the current market.

With the markup on the Ti products, they're not a good deal at MSRP vs the original generation of cards.
You get slightly more performance.  But it's the markup that's killer.

LHR cards showed up on the newegg shuffle today, and they weren't any cheaper.
