Seasonic Prime Ultra 750 watt Titanium 3700x at stock 3080 FTW3 with regular bios With power level to 105, the card draws upwards of 403 watts. Total peak load while playing cyberpunk (and cpu loaded to 70%) comes in at about 590 watts.

3090 FTW3 ultra paired with corsair ax 860. Been testing some games and no apparent issue thus far. HWInfo reports card pulling 410 watts (out of the box bios, no oc).

My original complaint with this thread. It basically is a counting thread, because of no ownership by the OP to organize it. I'm not sure why it was awarded a BR. I mean 'Here is the list so far' is the sum total. List of what? Nobody really knows.

This is the 700watt fanless model, correct? I've been reading up one some potential Seasonic issues with their "older" Prime models not being able to handle the transient power requirements of the RTX 3080, and it's not clear if the fanless TX-700 is considered part of their "new" more robust Prime series. Your specs of 5800x, an overclocked 3080, and a fanless PSU are my ideal specs, but I'm worried that the PSU might not be quite enough, and I'm also not willing to spend an extra $100 to get a fan I don't even want with a TX-1000 or whatever.

Correct and it is clear that it's considered part of their "new" more robust Prime series as the TX-700 was released in spring of 2020. I'm not recommending this PSU for anyone else, but I've tested power from the wall and with no overclocking on my system, it's more than enough. Techpowerup recommends 750W with the 3080 FTW Ultra (link below) and while they're using things like Furmark to cover all the bases, scenarios like Furmark or Furmark and CPU stress tests running at the same time are not comparable to use cases I ever see myself being in. I also have a 180mm fan blowing straight into the TX-700 and I probably wouldn't have put together this setup if the case I own (FT05) didn't accomadate everything so well. If you're worried that 700W is cutting it too close and really want a Seasonic, you could always grab the TX-750 or TX-850 instead of the TX-1000 mentioned in your reply. https://www.techpowerup.c...080-ftw3-ultra/29.html

It's great to know that it's working for your use case. I think fanless would work in my HAF X as airflow hasn't ever been an issue, and the price on the 750+ is much higher than you might expect for only a 50 watt bump - I blame current PSU availability. You've given me a lot to think about. Thanks!

Unsurprisingly, my 3080 running on a EVGA 650GQ rebooted mid-way through the 3dmark time spy benchmark. Looks like I get to figure out how to undervolt until my new PSU arrives.

wuzup916 EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G5 & 3080 FTW3 Ultra. I had problems that started when I installed my 3080. I get the windows 10 black screen issues that other people are reporting. Without px1 my fans don't run till my card hits the mid 60s at very high rpm if not max speed and then just ramps up and down pretty much non stop. It's like the card has no built in default fan curve, I never had these issues with the multiple other evga cards I owned. After a few more driver updates and a fresh win 10 install my PC is starting to act normal again when it comes to black screens and restarts. Replaced px1 for AB and that fixed my fans. I'll say the 750w G5 is good for me, my problems wasn't PSU related but probably drivers.

Oh, I went through the exact same thing back in Sept, but there is no way I would have paid an extra $100 plus for the TX-700. I would wait until you see TX-750 for normal price which is ~$200. It was it on Amazon for maybe a day or so about 10 days ago. You could also set up a stock notification on B&H. As for cases, I'm waiting for Silverstone to finally release their Alta F1, which was originally supposed to be released in Q4 2020, but they seem to be having production issues. I'll just have to deal with the external radiator on top of the FT05 until they get this thing figured out. Oh and it looks a lot better/more stealthy when the side panel is on lol, leaving only the fans and the radiator exposed.

I don't think I've seen the 750w Supernova G3 come up as an issue yet, but here I am to spoil the fun. Back in September I started experiencing random shut downs during gaming. Interestingly it was almost always during a load change, as opposed to being an issue when running at full load. I could run hours of benchmarks but then crash when going to the menu of a game, or when the game would switch to a loading screen. However, maxed settings during regular gameplay was almost always fine, and sometimes I could game for hours without a shutdown. All of this was with a 2080ti, 8600k, 32gb ram and a 750w Supernova G3 that was bought in 2018. Assuming the PSU was the problem I RMA'd with EVGA and while waiting for the new model, I upgraded the CPU to an 8700k. Still had shutdowns, so definitely not the CPU. Also received my 3090 founders while waiting for the new PSU, but didn't have time to test separately. Installed the brand new 750w G3, 3090 and off to the races. Shutdowns began within the first 2 days of gaming. So now I've replaced, CPU, GPU and PSU and still have shutdowns. After reading about these transient spike issues I decided to not go nuclear and replace the MOBO, and instead bought a Seasonic Prime GX-850. It's now been over 2 weeks without a shutdown, while doing all sorts of heavy gaming with the 3090. I've been running Cyberpunk at ultra/psycho ray tracing and quality DLSS to really put a hurting on the system and no problems whatsoever. TL;DR My 750w Supernova G3 couldn't handle my 3090 founders without shutting down. Had to upgrade to a modern Seasonic (PRIME GX-850) to stop the shutdowns. Edit: As an aside, I have very annoying coil whine/electrical buzzing with my 3090. Doesn't seem abnormal but it's audible 8 ft away on my couch while gaming. Only when the volume is up or when I wear headphones is it drowned out. Strangely it seems to be worse when the GPU is around 80-90% usage and needs to modulate the power usage. When it's running full bore at 99% usage the buzzing almost completely disappears. Same with extremely light loads under 60% usage.

+1 I reckon the Supernova 750 G3 (220-G3-0750-X3) should be removed from the list in the op. I have one with a 9900k and a 3080 FE and it also randomly powers off while running a game. It can happen any time, but most often when transitioning from a menu/loading screen to rendering the game. Some games make it much more likely than others, and its somewhat intermittent/inconsistent. It seemed like it worked fine initially, and I might even have suggested it for this list myself in the first few days, but as I got around to trying more titles and encountering different situations it became apparent that its not up to the task. Unfortunately, even after 8 days, EU support have neglected to reply to me at all, so I can't comment on if a replacement unit is any different.

So after my conversation with Shiki8, I bought a TX-700. What was great was that it was silent. What was not so great were the four shutdowns in three days running just a 3600X and a GTX 970 - still don't have a 3080. Even just Google sheets would trip the PSU. Going to return it and try a Prime GX-850 since it seems to work well for you (and is also $100 cheaper).
