-3090 XC3 (max i saw was 380w)
-Corsair 850x Gold psu (was around 600w's mostly)
No issues at all with that build for a few months.

I did switch to an evga 1300w Gold psu when i got my Kingpin (avg 440w, some games have maxed it to 517w), same setup as before, rock solid so far, my APC shows avg loads of 750-800w, so wouldve been really close on the 850w psu. 

What's a 3080ti going to need? 
Thought newer cards were supposed to need less power each gen? ... ha

after reading these forums why do I feel bound to get a 1k+ plat psu...asap? 
 
hmonitor shows 321w for max on vid card while gaming at 3440x1440-100Hz  hdr/rtx max or close to it on settings.

Best to have an extra 50% of capacity on your power supply. If you're pulling 320 watts on GPU, and another 300 watts for everything else, that works out to (320+300)*1.5=930 watts.
 
Unless you're running a pretty lean system (which you probably aren't if you have a 3090), 1000 watts is pretty much the floor if you want power stability.

My 3080 FTW3 Ultra with the EVGA 850 GA also has issues. Some benchmarks crash and occasionally I’ll have a complete PSU shutdown and have to flip the switch to reboot. It’s been RMA’d and supposed to be here tomorrow so we’ll see…

Where is the best place to get a power supply right now? It seems that they are sold out everywhere. I don't know if this is the place to ask, but I've noticed a lot of people here have been discussing these platinum power supplies.

I would say that it's a good idea to go double your typical actual gaming power load for your psu rating, by HWiNFO readings then an estimate of the fans and drives.  Your psu calculator result should be about 60-80% of the psu rating.

I do hope if I get a card it will work with my seasonic focus+ 800w

hey guys. i was interested in getting the evga supernova ga 850w directly from evga. I had spoken to customer service and they said they were aware of the issues it had in the past and that that batch of psu's had issue but they have since then fixed them. Should i still go for this? or go for something else. ive only ever used evga psu's and never had problems with them but I also dont have a super huge budget anymore (since i finally got a 3080 xc3 ultra). i have a ryzen 7 3700x if that helps.
