But it doesn't happen with my 7970 ( I have it installed again while waiting on my new 780).
Why would it happen on the GTX 780 and not the 7970?

Most likely you failed to adjust in game settings from the existing "Preset" you were using with the 7970....
So even with a fresh install, you are -still- Syncing to your old (and incorrect) settings/shader files

much like what happend to this user:  http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1955323
Changing settings -and- then proper re-sync with Origin fixed his problems

I had a few issues when I used the 320.18 drivers, ranging from the minor shader issue with EVE Online and the 320 series drivers, to constant and regular Battlefield 3 crashes. I rolled back to 314.22 and every one of those problems stopped immediately. Might be a little slower to use 314.22 but at least I don't have issues with them.

OK, so much like deleting the profile folder in BF2 every time I updated drivers (so it would rebuild texture files), I should do this when I get my new card and every new driver install?

Now, go to your "My Documents" folder
Look for the yellow Battlefield 3 folder and open it
Open the yellow folder marked "Settings" and open it
right click and DELETE the config file shown below in the screenshot)

NOW, close all open programs and your browser

This is not normal, but because of the issues seen -and the fact you swapped cards- it is the suggested recovery at this time...
Looks to be a user error from failing to close down Origin and syncing to incorrect settings, most likely a bug from the last Origin patch.

I'm glad to see the INF editing is working for people with the 314.22 drivers and 770/780 cards

I just hope nvidia gets new drivers out with a fix before the 4GB GTX 770 FTW ACX is released cause thats what I'm getting

Which 770 did you get?  I cannot manage to get the ACX past like 52 C in anything.  Temps are so low they almost concern me.

I have the GTX 770 SC ACX edition and my temps go as high as 80c when playing games. Is mine faulty then? Used to get as hot as 90c+ with 320.18 drivers installed.

And no my system is not dusty. I blow it out with canned air every few months.

Mine seem to be preforming fine on BF3. I haven't had any problems really. But on Metro 2033 it did crash a bit.

80c is way too hot (especially for the ACX cooler) reviews are only showing between 65 - 70c

what is your case cooling like? is that at stock SC settings or overclocked?

I have not touched any overclocking as it scares me now these days since I destroyed an ATI X1950 Pro card way back in the day by doing so. Have not tried since, especially since it's never really needed since I only game on one monitor at 1920x1080 anyway and the cards perform great. As for my case cooling I just have two 120mm fans. One on the side of the case sucking cool air in, and another at the back blowing hot air out. My case is nothing fancy, don't even remember what it's actually called. Should I be concerned?

Yes I would be concerned, 2 x 120MM fans is not enough airflow

get a case like this one, http://www.newegg.com/Pro...x?Item=N82E16811129180

it has 2 x 120MM front intake, 1 x 120MM side intake, 1 x 120MM back exaust, 1 x 120MM Mobo trey, and 1 x 140MM top exaust

Well I am from Canada and the Canadian site for that case they want 30 dollars just for shipping. They do have these 2 for sale and both are at a discounted price right now. Which of the two would you recommend me buying?

I don't have enough space for a Full towered size case so it has to be a bit smaller. Mid Tower is fine.

May as well get the Illusion cause it has most of the fans included for the same price. You can take one of the 120MM fans from your old case to use on the side panel, its the only one not included on the Illusion

Had issues with 320.18, the os would not start at all. turned out to be precision x. Uninstalled, reinstalled video drivers, and driver works, having problems with precision x for some reason, but driver works fine.

My system was completely dusted out prior to the new card coming so no it isn't  It is also a HAF 932 case so everything has plenty of breathing room.  Still even with not all cases created equal that is an extremely higher temp.

What game or benchmark tool?  Any overclock or tweaking past the standard boost 2.0?

Is it possible that I am not experiencing any of this because I play all my games with v sync on?

So far it happened to me in FC3 and BF3.  Artifacting occurs about 15-20 mins into the game....vsync is off and card is bone stock.  Completely clean install and geforce exp is not installed.

ughhh, this is stupid

I encountered artifacts with my ACX for the first time tonight....this is a completely fresh install of windows and 320.18 WITHOUT the Geforce exp software....card is bone stock and temps are around 67C....the stupid drivers are the culprit here

NV, what the eff???

What game or benchmark tool?  Any overclock or tweaking past the standard boost 2.0?

Is it possible that I am not experiencing any of this because I play all my games with v sync on?

So far it happened to me in FC3 and BF3.  Artifacting occurs about 15-20 mins into the game....vsync is off and card is bone stock.  Completely clean install and geforce exp is not installed.

Hrm complete opposite experience(unless you count the micro corruption on Dennis during cutscenes but that is a game bug) and I have played both games.  V sync on but I messed around with both with it off and with adaptive.

Windows 8 by any chance?  I am on 7 still.

this is exactly what it looks like....after searching around, it appears alot of others have the same problem with these new drivers...older or newer cards.

You might have to do the INF edit and run 314.22 drivers duke, I know the 770/780 require 320.18 as they are the only ones that work, but those drivers cannot be trusted even without the geforce experience software

The 320.18 drivers cause the cards to get hot, very hot. My GTX 770 was overheating within 3 minutes using 320.18 and now i'm on 314.22 and it stays cool. No issues with games.

Which 770 did you get?  I cannot manage to get the ACX past like 52 C in anything.  Temps are so low they almost concern me.
Is you system dusty?

I have the GTX 770 SC ACX edition and my temps go as high as 80c when playing games. Is mine faulty then? Used to get as hot as 90c+ with 320.18 drivers installed.

And no my system is not dusty. I blow it out with canned air every few months.
lol there is something really wrong if you are hitting 80 or 90  C with that card. you must have a really poor case or leave in the attic. that or you have a defective card because you should not be going much above 70  C if that.

Should I be concerned?
wow that is not an appropriate set up at all for a gaming pc especially one with card that is dumping heat in your case. this makes me curious to know what the rest of your system specs are too because you are probably cooking everything in there. please do list your other specs.

My driver just crashed for the first time.  MKV file playing on VLC and then I decided to boot up GPU Z and it occurred.  It recovered but now I am concerned.

Nite I tried to edit the .inf file but I just got lost in the middle.

Re:WARNING: 320.18 Drivers are Killing GPU's 2013/06/14 11:22:37 (permalink)
I just got a new 780, so I was researching this driver issue for days before it arrived in preparation. I almost didn't open the box until a new driver had been released.

In all of these posts, no one has mentioned the actual nvidia page with over 600 comments, including video and screenshots of user problems. So it definitely exists. Here is that link: http://www.geforce.com/wh...-whql-drivers-released

Anyway I decided to check the disc with the card, and it included v320.11, so I hoped that that minor difference would help, since no one in the newegg reviews reported any issue.

Thankfully I can say that it works fine, no crashing of any sort, running Tera at 1080p with all settings maxed.

So if you're like me and just got a 7 series, use the included disc instead of the new download. Maybe that will help?
