Closest I got was to the "Place My Order" button with all my info in, kept pressing it for like 45 mins. Order never went through.
Tried both 3090 FTW3 cards.

5 Browsers, no 3090 FTW. Was hitting the place order button on 4/5 at one point repeatedly. Still not sure how anyone here got past that button.
I did notice that Chromium browsers were more reliable at loading the cart pages than the Gecko-based Firefox for some reason.

I got all the way to the page for secure payment and everything went wonkie. I ended up with gettiing nothing for my 11/2hr effort.

I struck out also , was in position both for the 3080 and 3090 launch days , refreshed for 20 mins on 15 tabs to Newegg, B+H, BestBuy and Evga , not even ever see one in stock , today got the hardhat at one point, wishing to get the 3090 FTW ultra gaming , I am going to try the elite membership tonight as I just got a new Evga Nova Power supply I am gonna register. Trying to keep my head up as I just built a monster RIgg and just need video card to get finalize
Glad some of you guys/gals got cards today

I wanted to get an EVGA RTX 3090 but the site kept crashing after I was able to put the FTW3 in my cart from the "elite" member page. But after an hour of trying to complete my purchase it kept erroring out then told me it was out of stock. Luckily I had a friend pick up 2 RTX 3090s from BestBuy, though all he was able to get was the PNY version. So looks like that's what I'm getting. I wanted to give you my money EVGA, but your site kept refusing to take it

I got a 3090 but I really didn't want to spend that much for the card. Would have rather got a 3080 but the 3090 was the only thing available and I got all the way to checkout so I wasn't gonna risk losing it.

Not yet. I'm certainly not taking it as seriously anymore at the moment. As an earlier post here already stated I'm not going to involve myself in the hunt until after December 7th of this year. Why after that date? Easy. RTX 3080, 3090, 3070, AMD Zen 3 Ryzen and AMD Radeon Big Navi will all have released by then and Black Friday and Cyber Monday will be over and done (and the scalpers I hope by that point will stop having their fun).
I'm also speculating that December 7th being an optimistic by prediction day will be the time all retailers inventory stock for all RTX 30 series cards will go from "scarce" to "nominal" or "optimal". Once that happens the resale profit margin on the RTX 30 series will drop tremendously and the scalpers will stop hunting once they know the profits are too low on the RTX 30 series to make any great profit off of them selling them on the 3rd party resale market (ebay or Amazon 3rd party seller). There where I am at with it and until next time I am out!

I was never able to get past "add to cart" - always got an error after that point. Also recently got this, which is new to me (usually get the yellow hardhat and 2 orange cones):
