nope, couldn't beat bot speed

Got my 3090 FTW Ultra thanks to EVGA setting some aside for Elite members.

attempted both launches on evga as well as newegg, seems newegg hasnt put any FTW3 up at all and EVGA's site is struggling very hard with it all.  I think at this point its just to wait until the production catches up to the demand.

Nope, I completely struck out at launch on multiple sites. Then had a card in my cart on evga and Nvidia post launch and wasn't able to checkout before the sites crashed.

Well there are some things that go into not being able to get one.
 
First is the 8 Nm smaller node that has yielded less wafers.
Second is the whole COVID-19 factories being less staffed and this I am sure includes suppliers for components.
Third is ovewhelming demand from Pascal users that have been holding off and skiping Turing to upgrade.
Fourth and probably the one we are all mad about is the growing number of bad actors or as I like to call them hackers using bots to buy the already low supply minutes before it even goes for sale online.
 
I have no problem with an open and free market I just don't think hackers should be allowed to hack companies with bots.

I got all the way to the submit order button and it would freeze up. It was funny getting a call from my bank asking if I was trying to make 38 purchases of $1800

Pre-logged into the website 30 minutes prior, got myself up early, and tried for over an hour across all merchants each time {3080, 3090, etc, including of course the EVGA store}.  Almost two hours trying to buy the 3090 FTW3 Ultra.
 
No-dice.
 
That said, I have a few friends who succeeded in buying them.

Not even close. Hard hat and cones for a solid hour. Once that ended the site just froze. Then they were all gone.

The site can not handle limited stock as it is. If they got 50,0000 units in tomorrow, the site would crash even worse.

Got lucky with the elite option, went for the ftw3, got to place my order button, re.oved from cart, then went for ultra and fought the place my order button for an hour and went through.

To those that haven't even as lucky, im sorry, just stay patient and if you're spending this kind of money, don't settle for earlier availability.

@EVGA, yall rock with the communication to customers on multiple platforms and trying to implement bot protection measures as we go. Its not unnoticed and although it doesn't always seem like it in chats/tweets, that's why you have a loyal customer base

While the site had tons of issues and it took me several tries, I ended up scoring one of the big boys (FTW 3090 Ultra). The elite member access was an awesome idea and it makes me feel rewarded for being a loyal customer for years. I hope they do releases this way going forward.

I did not. But i will. Someday. 

Now that more clowns that just get lucky with the website are getting cards, hopefully I’ll have an easier time when they actually get stock back.

Not even close. Massive failures both times on EVGAs site. I had cards in my cart multiple times during both launches, I got to the CC entry screen and got stuck at the spinning bubbles. By the time I managed to back out and try multiple times the cards were gone. It's massively frustrating. 

None of both 3080 or 3090 and nearly any brand
