Notify queue will probably be faster.  But unless you are doing something specific that need a 3080, then the 3070 should work for you just fine until the step up arrives.  You can do both and see which one get to you faster.  I'm on day 2 waiting for RMA...hoping today so I can send my 2070 super back for the 3080.

Is it just me or are they getting slower on card releases as time goes? I feel like there are fewer cards being released at longer intervals. Looking at the chart it was half way to me as of December 1st (I'm 266th per the chart), and that is about 2 months after they started step 2s. It's now 1.5 months later and they've only gone another 56 slots.

Understand that this list is "UNOFFICIAL" so there are a lot of people NOT shown on the list.  I only found the list a couple weeks ago and I slid into number 186 so there are at least those two variable that you are probably not accounting for.  I feel your frustration, thats why i say that at the minimum EVGA could be a little more transparent with this process.  I am not complaining, I am very grateful for the step-up program but it can be frustrating not knowing whats going on.

True, and I suppose that the earlier someone signed up the more likely they would be active on a list like this. That said if a fairly consistent percentage of people through at least the first few days signed up we should be able to see a pattern emerge. Hopefully I'm wrong and card production isn't slowing and its just that there are more people not on the list that signed up as time moves, but here we are, 4 months later and still not even on day 2.

Because their yields are turning to **** I wouldn't expect to get a card until June

Like I said last September - I wouldn't be surprised if many people seeking a 30xx card aren't able to get one by the end of 2021. Even some 20xx cards were hard to find.

Im number 470 on the list, by my calculations, it will be June when i get my Step 2....  EVGA is processing at about 52 slot numbers a month...

With Chinese/Lunar New Year coming up, expect little to no production for the upcoming few weeks. 

 
crap im viet and i totally forgot about this =/  .. .... hopefully if everything goes as it should .. they should have ramped up production and stockpiled for this shipments during that time... but likely not 

Finally got my step 2 email today. I think I'm like 16:30 on launchbday on the excel list.

Guess one more week for me. I was sure I'd get the step 2 today... 17:33 on launch day. 

Yeah, seems like very few step-up 3080s went out this week.

We are happy to announce that your Step-Up request has completed the queue process. EVGA will now review your request by looking over your invoice. Any adjustments to the price will occur at this step. If you are approved, you will receive another email with instructions to pay for your Step-Up.

I was losing hope!! But at least it's now moving👍. For those who have gone through this process, how long do they take to look over the invoice and approve it?? 🤔
Been waiting since 9/17/20.

At the rate this is moving (they are still working on 1st day stepups over 4 months in), they will not be past Sept 18th stepups by April, which is when price increases go in. Why don't they just come out and say that? If you didn't stepup by this day you are going to have to pay more.

Just got my 3090 ftw3 queue notification hahaha, wow it was really hard to pass on it but I cannot justify the price to perf cost. Im a Sept 24th step up so I know I have much more time to wait but still, not going to spend $1900 to play a few frames higher when my 3080 is already payed for.
