I think someone mentioned this before but expect any progress to halt around mid February for Chinese New Year (starts Feb 12). Depending on the company, workers are usually off for a week to 2 weeks.

I'm not fine with the fact that now they're going to charge an additional $70 for the card, because I sincerely doubt they're going to manage to get through even the first week of step-ups by April.

Received on the first, estimated ship day is the 4th!! I cant wait to get this 3080 FTW3 in my machine!! If you are already on the list then you are good, you know that eventually you WILL get one which is nice. I know the wait game is not fun but stick with it guys, HOLD THE LINE!!

It tapers off a bit, there are still a lot of people. At the current rate the cards are going out a lot of us are paying the extra $70. The speed the step-ups are being processed appears to be slowing down rather than speeding up. In the last half of January it looks like hardly any cards even went out.

I'm gonna say they seem to be working hard to get cards out as fast as possible. They received my 2080 at 1230EST today and have already shipped out the 3080. It should arrive Friday.

It is at about 4pm day 1. Unfortunately, the one showing around midnight I belive put something in incorrectly.

I didn't know about step up till 10/3/2020, so that's when I entered the queue... guess I still have a long wait left.
You will likely end up paying more since you'll get yours after April. Anyone that made a serious effort around launch got a 3080, be it from eVGA, Nvidia or some other source (i.e. adorama pre orders). The REAL issue here is, people dogpiled "Step up" like it was some sort of guaranteed pre order. Ive been enjoying my 3080 Since the beginning of October, meanwhile folks are barely getting theirs nearly 5 months later from the FIRST day of step up. I really hope folks learned from the exercise. Waiting half a year for step up is NOT a smart move and it will end up costing some folks here additional money if they get their after April. I fully expect things to slow down significantly as the Chinese new year sets in during middle Feb, and then soon thereafter people will be getting $1400 Stimulus in the USA and will be looking to buy lots of things (including GPUs).

I expect I will still be happy with it, as when I purchased my 2080S, I didn't know step-up was a thing, as I hadn't gone for an EVGA graphics card before, and was really close to being out of my window before I overheard a coworker was going to step-up. And despite the price increase, I wouldn't have been able to get one for the original price anyway as I had to work during the release, and there have not been many opportunities since to get one at MSRP, and using step up, means I won't have to pay the full price up front.

For the record a lot of us "made serious efforts" on launch day and did not get a card. I continued to try to get a card until the Sept. 25th when I found an open box deal at Microcenter for an EVGA 2080ti FTW Ultra. I bought it to get out of the cycle of hell, jumping on every inventory alert, waiting in line at MC most days... I was able to use it to register and get in the stepup queue.
Also, no regrets, even if I have to wait another 6 months!

sorry I'm out of the loop. Why would the price increase after April? EVGA not guaranteeing the price they quote when you sign-up for Step Up? (which is $809.99 for me)

That’s correct. Evga is honoring the original price if they’re able to provide the product before that date.

I don’t know. Apparently, in the US, there’s now a 25% tariff on chinese goods including computer components (since 2019 really, but exemptions had been granted by the administration that expired in January as they failed to be renewed).
$70 isn’t 25% of $809, so Evga appears to be eating some of that increase, at least.
