Starting to feel a little hopeless, if the new pricing kicks in I won't be able to complete my step up

EVGA has confirmed that if you're already in the queue you will not experience a price increase. So besides the shear amount of time this is taking, dont feel hopeless about the price!

That is only for orders that get processed before April 16th. At the rate things are going, there may be people who've been in the queue since the first day that won't get a card before then. There has been 14 spots worth of progress in the last month. While I appreciate the fact that EVGA offers the program, I'm really regretting my decision.

Yeah, thats BS. Let us pay for it now if thats the case. Pretty ****ty. It should apply to anyone in queue before Jan 1. Those of us in Oct queue will maybe get a card this year at the rate its progressing. Ill be unboxing my new 3080 when the 4080 drops . After the AMD drop, and price increase I really dont think the 3080 is a great deal and had I known all this I wish I wouldn have just not build a new PC in anticipation of the 3080.

Sell whatever card you currently have, as almost every GPU is currently out of stock and going for high rates.

Then attempt to buy something else and realize everything is sold out.  But your no longer in the queue!

I wish everyone followed up on the google doc so the rest of us, who also submitted to the Google Doc could have a more consistent idea of an ETA.

Got my 3080 FTW3 Ultra from the step-up yesterday! Wow, what a beast of a GPU! Installation was fine in a H510/X570.

Two minor notes:
1. The "upHere" bracket I use to prevent GPU sag does fit the 3080, but it was slightly tricky to find the sweet spot for the little rubber foot because the GPU fans are sort of in the way. I think a bracket of some sort is pretty much required because the GPU is so heavy. (Had a 2070S before the step-up, and had lots of system stability issues before installing the GPU bracket.)

2. EVGA design is already slightly refreshed: the red "lips" on the end of the card that everyone complained about are black on the 3080 FTW3 I received! Looks much better, I think.

Edit: I quoted wrong person

It’s still roughly averages about 1hr per week for the first day signups after the first day it will jump up due to less signups following days

Had  PM from a member asking about the first four digits of the serial number on my 3080, it indicated which factory made it? In any case, I don't have enough karma or whatever to send PMs, so . . . to "Fastjoe90" -- it's "2014" (same as my 2070S before it, hmm?)

Yes this is why I'm frustrated. Im in the middle of October, given NVIDIA said supply is going to be scarce until Q2 (April) I'm starting to think it's unlikely I'll get it before then.

I was at ~11am PT on 9/17. Timeline was:

Step 1: 9/17
Step 2: 1/5
Step 3: 1/6
Step 4: 1/6
Step 5 (RMA instructions): 1/7

I sent the old card back on Thursday 1/7, they received it 1/8, on a Friday, but they didn't log it into their system until Monday 1/11.

Step-Up card shipped: 1/13
Received: 1/14

By the way, I've been buying cards exclusively from EVGA since my GTS 450s, I place this blame on the tarrifs, and NVIDIA

I believe "2011" = Made in China and "2014" = Made in Taiwan from what I've read from other threads here.

I don't think it really matters much, but early samples and speculation were saying China-made ones were less prone to breaking. I have a 3070 made in Taiwan and it's been working well in the 2 weeks I've had it. My previous 1080Ti FTW3 was made in China and also had no issues for 3+ years.

If Day1 people are still waiting, I guess my 1/7 step up isn't going to process even by April/May time frame. Now I'm kind of hopeful about getting a 3080Ti like I originally wanted.

I registered for the Step up program on 9/27. Does anyone have an estimate on when I should get to step 2?

Microcenter seems to be getting them in from time to time and I can't for the life of me understand why loyal EVGA purchasers are being force to wait...

We're still on day 1 (9/17). You'd be lucky if you got it in 6 months.

Received my card a couple days ago. I was a little worried reading all the problems people have been having but I guess that makes sense people come to forums for problems not praise. Just to put some of yall at ease I like the card a lot so far. My 2070s had terrible coil whine this one is almost silent apart from the fans. No problems so far. Stay strong boys.

If I heard LTT correctly (I was distracted), Nvidia announced at CES the other day that the 3080ti is on 'indefinite hold'...aka not happening.

It would honestly be one of the silliest products they could release. The 3080 and 3090 are only about 8% on average different from eachother and the 3090 is double the price of the 3080. The price of a 3080ti would likely be around $1200 and would fall directly inbetween the two for performance. The 3090 already doesn't make sense for 99.9% of people, and for those that do the extra bandwidth in VRAM is why they would need/ want it. The 3080ti was going to have the same memory bus as the 3080, just 2x the memory. For the people doing non-workstation tasks and legit trying to game at 8k, sure the 3080ti may have a super niche market but a 4% gain for an 70% price bump is about the worst value proposition i've ever heard. Its the same price desparity as the 2080 and 2080ti, but at least there was a good 20% performance difference.

Even silly-er would be if they did go ahead and produce it, despite people not even being able to get their hands on current models...it would be the most market-deaf release ever.  Because people would now not only not be able to get their current models but now also the ti 5 mins after release.  Meme potential is off the charts.

The freaking miners (cryptocurrency) are buying all the supply
Like, put yourselves into Nvidia's pants now
Are they really willing or in a rush to get back their aging cards that will have run 6 to 12 months extra then what they had initially planned for the step up program (and probably more in many cases) ?
Like our cards are getting older....what will they do with all these used cards (sell refusrbished to miner again more probably...and that's if someone still want those older models)
Ususally this process would of been 2-3 months and they'd be reselling these cards not so old. Situation now is they'll be stuck with a more than usual big inventory of old aging cards about 6-12 months old and maybe more.
Were they prepared for this chaos ? Pretty sure not !!!!
The longer this takes, the older our cards get and less value they can get from them on the resell.
Of course they're selling the new cards to customers who will give them the most bang for their buck. Who really cares about the step up kids
I'm starting to consider to buy a complete PC just to get a 3080 instead of waiting after step up and resell the PC with the 2070 Super I have right now. These prebuilt PCs are well priced nowadays !
It took 4 months to have less than 200 names taken off the list.
Now do simple math for your position
and the situation or production is not looking to get any better soon yikes !!!!

If I go to Newegg right now the only Nvidia GPU's I can buy are tiny 1050's or older.  That's it, you can't get 1080ti's, 2060,2070,2080, any of the 3k lines, etc.  There isn't going to be a problem selling older 2k line cards refurbished until people can actually buy GPU's again.
